When I first tried the Honey Play Box app for my review of their original OLY, they only had a handful of compatible toys that ran alongside it. So, when the US brand recently got back in touch about reviewing their OLY 2, I was delighted to see that in addition to the app’s new range of features, there were also many more products designed to work with it. Some of these, such as the OLY and JOI, are now in their second or even third generations, and it is one such toy that I’ll be reviewing today. The new RORA 2 is the successor to Honey Play Box’s popular RORA dual-stimulator, which brings 360° rotations to the G-Spot. And whilst I don’t own the original, it seems that, like the OLY 2, the only real changes here are the new app-related features, such as voice control, pressure sensing and temperature detection.

As a toy industry freelancer, I wear many hats. But one of my favourite roles to step into is that of a design consultant. When I first started offering it as a service, it felt like a no-brainer: I know sex toys like the back of my hand, and for almost ten years now I’ve been reviewing them and offering recommendations on how they can be improved. I know what works, and what doesn’t, and with a collection now nearing the thousands, I’ve amassed a wealth of industry knowledge and experience to look back on. So, why not offer my thoughts in a private setting, rather than on my website, for toys that are still in development? It’s been a lot of fun, but the one downside is not being able to share it with all of you… until now! If you’ve spent much time on my blog, you’ll likely know that my two favourite types of pleasure products are, without question, air pressure wave toys and wand massagers. Nothing even comes close to comparing to these, and whilst they have a shared focus on the clitoris, they otherwise couldn’t be more different. I’m such a fan of Honey Play Box, that when I tried their new app for the first time a few months ago, I was a bit taken aback. The app itself was fine, a little weird to navigate and without any social features, but otherwise it did what it needed to do. Instead, it was the app on Honey Play Box’s website and the instructions included with my OLY that was not fine… because it was completely different! Not only did the two apps look nothing alike, but many of the advertised features simply didn’t exist on the real thing, causing concerns of false advertising. Of course I let Honey Play Box know my worries, and they quickly got to work updating their website to match the current version. But by then I had finished my testing, and never got the chance to revisit it. Until today, that is, for my review of the Honey Play Box OLY 2!

When Odyssey Toys, sister company to one of my favourite indie makers, recently reached out about reviewing their Kraken Grinder, I was so excited. But what was even more exciting was when the package arrived… a very large package that definitely didn’t contain just one item. I opened it a few days before Christmas, and it really did feel like I was getting all my gifts early, as they totally spoiled me with a mix of their own fantasy creations and Godemiche’s newest grinder range. And whilst I tried my best to focus on the Kraken Grinder, anyone who watched the unboxing at my Instagram knows that I immediately fell in love with the Coffin Grinder instead. Functionally, I knew that the Kraken Grinder was probably the better choice for me due to its penetrable nature, yet I just couldn’t shake the way I felt about its even more elaborate twin. So, when Odyssey Toys suggested a follow-up review, I jumped at the chance to finally showcase the Coffin Grinder in all its glory!

It’s been a few weeks now since my Top 10 Sex Toys of 2023 went live, and if you’ve had a chance to browse the winners yet, you’ll know that I placed a toy I gave an overly negative review to at Number 3 (what a twist!). That toy is the Uncover Creations Tentacle Grinder II, and even though it has plenty of issues, the fact is that it was one of the most memorable reviews I completed last year. Whilst functionally grinders are very simple, they offer a true blank canvas for toy makers, allowing them to go all in on immersive fantasy designs that resonate with users on a deeper level than just pleasure. And it was exactly this that led me to fall in love with the Tentacle Grinder II, from its detailed Lovecraftian design to its tapered tip for just the slightest amount of insertion. So, when I was recently contacted by another UK-based indie maker, who offers a toy that takes everything I loved about the Tentacle Grinder II and then amps it up another notch? Well, I was all in.
