As a toy industry freelancer, I wear many hats. But one of my favourite roles to step into is that of a design consultant. When I first started offering it as a service, it felt like a no-brainer: I know sex toys like the back of my hand, and for almost ten years now I’ve been reviewing them and offering recommendations on how they can be improved. I know what works, and what doesn’t, and with a collection now nearing the thousands, I’ve amassed a wealth of industry knowledge and experience to look back on. So, why not offer my thoughts in a private setting, rather than on my website, for toys that are still in development? It’s been a lot of fun, but the one downside is not being able to share it with all of you… until now! If you’ve spent much time on my blog, you’ll likely know that my two favourite types of pleasure products are, without question, air pressure wave toys and wand massagers. Nothing even comes close to comparing to these, and whilst they have a shared focus on the clitoris, they otherwise couldn’t be more different. I know I’m a little late to the party, but a few weeks ago I finally bought my first makeup sponge. I’m already obsessed, and whilst I’m no beauty influencer, I’d highly recommend getting one if you use liquid foundation. So, when Sohimi reached out recently about trying some more of their toys, it felt a bit like fate when I saw a clitoral stimulator cleverly disguised as a beauty blender in their store. They sent the Deep Sucker out to me right away, and whilst the shape is great, I do think the size, which is more than double a typical makeup sponge, offers a clear hint that this item isn’t what it seems. Regardless, with a standing design that places the suction nozzle at its base, this is still a promising sex toy for anyone who needs to maintain their privacy.

Recently I’ve been spending a lot of time thinking about budget toys and options for spending less when it comes to products like wand massagers, which are my second favourite sex toy. But what about suction toys, aka my number one? Even my usual low-price recommendation, the Satisfyer Pro 2 Next Generation, has the potential to set you back $100 AUD / $70 USD or more if you can’t find a sale, whilst the cheapest option I’ve reviewed so far, the Satisfyer Curvy 2+, has had such a ridiculous price hike since I first wrote about it back in 2020, that it is now exactly double the cost that it was. So, I set out to find a better option for those who, like me, are tightening their belts right now, and, as always, the first place I looked was Funzze, who are known for their excellent prices.

The two biggest trends in sex toys right now is sucking and licking, as the industry continues to move away from penetrative toys to instead focus more on clitoral pleasure, much to my delight. So I suppose the challenge for manufacturers out there today is simply deciding which one to use, since only a suction pump-style toy, like the Honey Play Box Scioness, seems to have succeeded in doing both at once. But then, of course, there’s nothing this industry loves more than multi-use toys, and so today we’re looking at a product where the brand has decided to well and truly throw out the rulebook and say “what’s stopping me from making both?”. I’ve now reviewed products from over one hundred different sex toy brands, but when I’m asked my favourite it’s always an easy answer: WOW Tech. The company overseeing both the German-based Womanizer and Canadian We-Vibe, among other things (and coincidentally now part of the UK’s Lovehoney Group, who have long been my favourite retailer), they’ve been leading the industry ever since I joined it and produce some of my absolute favourite toys. Whilst We-Vibe, makers of the legendary Tango X and Nova 2, have a broad catalogue to cover a wide range of electronics, Womanizer instead specialises on just one kind: air pressure. And since that also happens to be my favourite type of sex toy, it goes without saying that Womanizer holds a special place in my heart, and finishing up reviewing their entire range was a highlight of last year. Of course, even with this, I was still over the moon when they announced an entirely new model a few months ago, but with a design as eccentric as its name, I can’t say I wasn’t a little concerned.
