Welcome to my first edition of Ask A Sex Toy Reviewer! In this series I want to hear directly from you, my readers, and find out what queries or questions you guys have about anything from sex toys, sexual health, how to run a sex blog, to even myself! I initially put out the call for questions during my Valentine’s Day Giveaway earlier this year, and was so overwhelmed by the great responses! Due to the questions I got asked I decided to put together my recent Sex Toy Materials Guide, which answers many of the queries you folks had, and soon I’ll also be publishing a similar guide on lube. But there are still plenty of questions left over that won’t be covered in those guides, so I’ll be answering them here in this new series. This’ll run whenever I have enough questions for a post, but I’ll be limiting it to once a month. So without further ado, here they are!

If you are new to the world of pleasure products then it may surprise you just how important sex toy materials are when choosing a product. Sadly sex toys aren’t regulated very well so not all are made with body-safe materials, and despite blogger’s best efforts to educate consumers about this many toxic toys are still sold. Furthermore, body-safe sex toy materials are very varied and will offer different experiences depending on which type you use and what your preferences are. I’ve put together this guide for consulting when making sex toy purchases to ensure you are not only spending your money wisely and getting a longer lasting product, but most importantly that you are not putting your health at risk.

Adding Porn To Your Sex Toy Toolkit

One of the things I encourage most and try to provide on this blog is education about sex toys. While it should be as easy as walking into your local sex shop (which should be friendly and inclusive), and picking up whatever you fancy (because everything is body-safe), and then taking it home to properly use right off the bat (since you have had a proper sex education), the chances are that this is not the case. Good, inclusive, and ethical sex stores are still a rarity, and non-body safe toys are still made in the bucket-load. Sex education is minimal, and I highly doubt there are many schools that include anything about sex toys, or possibly masturbation at all, in their teachings. But, if you have found my blog and are reading this, it is likely you’ve already began learning about what brands are good and what materials are safe. So, today I want to talk about what happens when you actually buy the toy, and are then left wondering how exactly you are supposed to use it.

Welcome to my guide of the Top 10 Sex Toys of 2016 that I have had the pleasure to review. This post features toys I have reviewed this year, whether they are a few years old or brand spanking new. Originally this post was drafted in early November, naively I somehow thought that I could get it out of the way early, with perhaps a few changes here and there, but overall the list wouldn’t change too much. Oh, how wrong I was. Instead the list has been changing up until the last minute, and I’ve desperately been trying to get through as much of my review queue as possible before this post came out so I could get everything squeezed in.

Butt plugs are easily one of my favourite types of toy and my most reviewed. So, as you’d imagine, they’re also what I get asked about most often. As such, I thought it was about time I finally wrote my very own Butt Plugs for Beginners Guide. Valentine’s Day is almost upon us! Another year of wondering if your partner really meant it when they said they “don’t need anything” (they didn’t), and scrambling to get dinner reservations, anywhere, at the last minute. If you’re anything like me, you’ll probably have completely forgotten to buy your partner a gift at this point, and will be slowly watching that internet shopping deadline tick closer. Single? Then treat yo self, there couldn’t be a better time of year for it. So I’m thinking we skip the overdone chocolates and flowers, and consider something sexy from my Valentine’s Day Gift Ideas this year!
