At Sexpo this year I was on the look out for the best from Australia’s retailers and manufacturers. You can read more about what I came across in my wrap-up post of the event, but some of the toys that piqued my interest the most were over at the Cloudnine Adult Concepts stand. On show they had their two flagship creations, the Hummingbird and Hummingbird Mini. Why did these interest me so much? Because I love wand massagers, and seeing one had been created by an Australian manufacturer filled me with joy. I was also incredibly pleased to see that these had been made with 100% body safe silicone and trying them out at the show they seemed quite sturdy and had some reasonable vibrations. Getting home from the convention I emailed Cloudnine to let them know of my support and they were kind enough to email back offering to let me review their Hummingbird Mini, as well as three wand attachments for it.
Review: New York Toy Collective Ellis
In the sex toy industry, and as with most industries, there are the large brand name companies with huge product ranges and luxury packaging that can be found at practically every store, and then there are the smaller independent manufacturers who hand-make their products and focus on quality over quantity. Both are good and I think a mix of these two styles are important, especially since it is usually the larger companies who can afford to create more entry-level priced collections. However, I have so much more respect for the little guys who put so much love and care into each of their pieces, and basically put their financial (and sometimes personal) lives at risk just to help create great quality sex toys for us all. I want to support these sorts of companies as much as I can, but unfortunately they can be hard to access here in Australia when none of the larger retailers want to stock them. So this is why when I found The Slinky Minx, and was given the opportunity to review the New York Toy Collective Ellis, that I was so ridiculously overjoyed.
Review: Geeky Sex Toys Laser Sword
I don’t get the chance to talk about it much on this blog, but I am a huuugee geek. When I’m not working or cooking (my other passion) you can guarantee I’m doing something nerdy, from playing video games and weekly 12 hour games of Dungeons and Dragons, to reading manga and drawing fan art of my favourite comic book characters. To bring in the new year my partner and I watched a marathon of Lord of the Rings, and we even met on geeky terms. One of my earliest signs of geekdom was being shown Star Wars when I was 10 and becoming obsessed. This hasn’t ever stopped, and in more recent years I have been throughly enjoying the franchise’s revival and have attended both The Force Awakens and Rogue One’s midnight screenings, buying tickets for both almost a month in advance out of excitement and to ensure I get the best seats in the house. So, you can imagine my excitement last year at Sexpo when I found out two of my favourite things, Star Wars and sex toys, had been combined! If you’ve read my Sexpo wrap-up you’ll probably remember my huge rambling about the amazing new independent Australian store I had found while I was there: Geeky Sex Toys. After the event I contacted them to let them know how much I adored everything they are doing, and they were wonderful enough to send me their Star Toys Laser Sword and R2-V2 Wand Massager for review.
Review: MysteryVibe Crescendo
It is not often a sex toy gains the amount of popularity that the MysteryVibe Crescendo achieved before it was even released. What started as a crowd funding campaign in 2005, the Crescendo quickly became seen as the next big thing in sex toys by both bloggers and the sex-positive general public alike. The idea of a bendable sex toy with six motors instantly made headlines, and its innovative design of a gender neutral and fully customisable vibrator that could be adjusted to suit the user’s preferences was much welcomed and endorsed by sex bloggers, including me. Plus, combined with its app and six motors (yes, that wasn’t a typo) you can even customise and design your own vibration styles and patterns. The seemingly only downside to the toy was its material, which was TPE, but they have now changed this to wonderful body-safe silicone, making what seemed like a already pretty perfect toy even better!

Review: Tantus Uncut #1
This is my first review of 2017 and this year I’ve got a lot of big goals for the blog. One of them is trying to diversify my posts and review products. Different types of toys, writing more about my opinions on certain topics rather than just reviews, and so forth. So, on that note, even though it’s a little bit of a stretch, I thought that this sex toy would be the perfect way to kick off the year. The Tantus Uncut #1 represents a step forward in dildo diversity. If you hadn’t noticed, this particular dildo is uncircumcised and features a foreskin. I’ve read a lot of reviews on this toy before deciding to get one, and bloggers often talk about how they have never had a uncircumcised partner before, but that is because the majority of them are from the US where around 80% of penises are circumcised. I, on the other hand, live in Australia where only around 30% of penises are circumcised, so as you can imagine all my partners have been ‘uncut’. This also explains why you’ve likely never seen a uncircumcised dildo or penis in the media before, because the majority of our porn and sex toys come from the US! I was so happy to see the penises that I know and love represented when Tantus announced the Uncut, and since have been so glad to see many other sex toy companies continue this awesome trend.
