Funzze Couple Sharing Vibrator Ⅱ

Last week at the blog I looked at a new range of toys based around the idea of not using gendered marketing or specifying a particular use, so that users could instead make their own decisions on how to go about enjoying them. But whilst the Sunflower and the rest of Evolved Novelties’ Gender X range were certainly non-gendered, their line of mostly classic sex toys still couldn’t shake off the methods of use that we’ve already come to associate them with. So for today’s review, I’m looking to take this idea one step further, with a vibrator that’ll really get your imagination going. The Funzze Couple Sharing Vibrator II is a new style of sex toy that I’ve watched go viral over the past few years. With two rounded prongs at one end and a large shaft at the other, there is no immediately obvious way to use this product, and this sense of choice has made the design a popular option when shopping with white-label retailers.

Product Description

The sequel to Funzze’s popular Couple Sharing Vibrator, the Couple Sharing Vibrator II is almost identical aside from the addition of some ribbing across the three shafts and some minor updates to the overall design, as well as the apparent reduction in the product’s battery life and colour options. As with its predecessor, there are three motors in this toy, one for each end, and the two sides can either be used independently or together using the dual buttons on the toy’s back. Above these controls you’ll find the charging hole, and on the other side of the toy is a large indented area of silicone that features subtle lines on the internal shaft’s surface. This then leads up to the external arms, where raised dots line the insides for added grip, whilst a spiral texture on the two tips provides even further stimulation. As for the density, the shaft is completely firm, despite being quite wide with a maximum diameter of 3.7cm / 1.44″, and while the external arms also have very little give, they are at least flexible, although with the catch to this being that the solid portion inside them ends abruptly, meaning there is a hard 90 degree corner at their mid-point. Overall though, the biggest initial flaw has to be the deep seam that separates the internal and external arms, as the glue appears to be coming away here, which not only doesn’t look great but also means this is an area where bacteria can hide. Plus, the Couples Sharing Vibrator II only comes in purple, which I am really over seeing sex toys in at this point. Finally, the toy also has everything else you would expect in 2022, being fully waterproof, 100% body-safe, and USB rechargeable.

So, how do you use it? Whilst there’s no right or wrong way to enjoy the Couple Sharing Vibrator II, Funzze do provide a list of potential options on their website and in the product’s manual, and whilst most of these are designed with couples featuring a penis and vagina in mind, the toy can also be used solo or by partners with matching genitalia. The main idea either way though is that the two curved smaller ends will be used for external stimulation, whether against the clitoris, nipples or penis (which can work like a cock ring), whilst the larger shaft can be used internally, both in the vagina and anus. For those with a vagina, Funzze promote double-penetration in particular, whether solo using the two smaller ends, or with a partner by attaching the toy to their penis or strap-on and then using one in each hole (which is actually the only true “couples” method suggested with the Couples Sharing Vibrator II).

Packaging

Funzze Couple Sharing Vibrator Ⅱ Packaging

My order for the Couple Sharing Vibrator II was placed with Funzze on the 22nd of September and I received it promptly on the 28th. The package was then 100% discreet, with no mention of who sent it or what was inside. As with my last package from Funzze, the toy itself was then presented in a plain brown box made of corrugated cardboard (the last one at least had a barcode on it, but this is completely plain), which, while it gets points for discretion, feels quite off-putting and does not provide a good customer experience in my opinion (although, thankfully, Funzze have let me know this is something they plan on fixing). Inside this I then found the toy itself (although again there was very little packaging protection), alongside a gold branded storage pouch, charging cord, instruction sheet, and a small card going over Funzze’s 1-year warranty.

Charging

Funzze Couple Sharing Vibrator Ⅱ Charging

Since the Funzze Couple Sharing Vibrator II is USB rechargeable, charging it is easy. Simply plug one end of the cord into a USB port, and the other end into the hole on the toy. When charging a light should flash, and this will become solid upon completion. There is then a discrepancy between the charging times listed on the website and the manual, with the website listing the vibrator as taking 2 – 3 hours to charge to give you 1 – 2 hours of playtime, and the manual listing it as taking 1 – 2 hours to give you 2 hours. I tend to trust the included instructions more than online listings however, especially since there was a second discrepancy (more below) that proved the website has incorrect information.

Controls

After trying another dual-ended toy with two buttons last week that was controlled in such a logical manner, I think I can be forgiven for thinking that the Funzze Couple Sharing Vibrator II would be the same. Whilst the two ends can be controlled independently, the first bit of confusion comes from the buttons, which simply feature a power and plus symbol. This is because rather than having one button dedicated to each side like on similar products, the toy instead expects you to turn the entire thing on using one button, and then switch between the two depending on which end you want to use (with the buttons controlling the end they are closest to). With this in mind, to turn the toy on first hold down the power button, which will enter a stand-by mode as indicated by the lights on the buttons turning on. You can then press the power button again to turn the internal arm on, or press the plus button to turn the external arm on (or, alternatively, turn both on). There are then only seven modes, three being steady speeds and four being patterns, which is the second discrepancy on Funzze’s website, as this repeatedly lists the product as having ten modes. Clicking the two buttons will allow you to cycle through these, which are identical between the two motors, and when you come to the end it will return to stand-by mode, which is a handy way to turn off one motor but keep the other going. Otherwise, when done you can just hold the power button down again.

First Impressions

While the Couple Sharing Vibrator II, and similar toys like it, have become quite successful over the last few years, I have avoided them until now for two reasons. Firstly, multi-use toys, such as those that offer clitoral stimulation at one end and G-Spot stimulation at the other, never really seem to work out, with neither end ever being as good as a toy that just offers one of these things. And secondly, since I prefer direct and pressued vibrations, toys with multiple arms that are supposed to surround the clitoris instead of touching it don’t seem to do much for me. But working with Funzze I felt this was the perfect opportunity to see what I’ve been missing, and I was eager to turn the product on for the first time. Trying out the larger internal motor, I was actually really impressed, with strong, rumbly vibrations present. However, the two smaller motors were a fair bit weaker, and much more buzzy too. Still, they were fairly quiet at least, and whilst the internal arm is louder, this will be muffled during use.

My Experience

In testing out the Funzze Couple Sharing Vibrator II, the first method I gravitated towards was using its two external arms on my body. Whilst the gap between these fit my nipples quite well, I quickly found that it was far too wide for my clitoris. Plus, even though it did feel nice being used like this on my nipples, it was far nicer when I just applied one of the arms directly. The same goes for my clitoris, although the buzzy vibrations combined with the fact that I’d have the other arm annoyingly vibrating my leg or chest meant that even with this, I still struggled to really enjoy its use in this way. Due to this, I actually found the internal arm far more pleasurable to use on my external areas, with the vibrations reminding me of a wand massager more than a G-Spot vibrator.

Funzze Couple Sharing Vibrator Ⅱ Storage Bag

As for using the Couple Sharing Vibrator II internally, things went slightly better. Since it is wider than most internal vibrators, insertion can take a little while, and so I find using a smaller toy beforehand helpful, such as the Funkit Toys NoFrillDo R. My biggest concern here was then the ribbing that covers the front area of this arm, as it reminded me of a similar detailing on the Bestvibe 3 Motors Rabbit Vibrator, which I did not enjoy. Thankfully though this isn’t as bad as I thought it would be, and whilst it does occasionally create an itchy sensation, it has been subtle enough to not bother me much during use. Instead, the thing I notice most upon inserting this toy is just how well it rubs against my G-Spot, with the shape and rumbly vibrations being ideal for stimulation here. In fact, I think it would probably be one of my favourite G-Spot vibrators, if it wasn’t for that damn handle. Because not only did the dual-pronged arm not work for my body, but it is the biggest hindrance to my enjoyment of the internal shaft too, as I find it extremely difficult to hold when thrusting with the toy. Plus, another issue is the location of the buttons, whose presence on the back of the Couple Sharing Vibrator II’s shaft means that I am unable to see them to easily control the toy, which is made even worse by the product’s stand-by mode, as there’s no way for me to tell when I have successfully turned it on. And to be honest, considering the range of positions suggested with this product and the fact that it is a couples toy, the fact that it does not come with a remote control (which is one of the most common features you see with these products) is really quite asburb, and easily one of its biggest downsides to it, as there’s no way you’re going to be able to comfortably control it with some of the suggested uses. Finally, it’s also worth noting (since I was wondering myself) that this toy cannot be used as a dual-stimulator, as the external arms don’t come anywhere near my clitoris during use.

While I wasn’t interested in using the Couple Sharing Vibrator II for double-penetration, which was unfortunately all of the partnered play options Funzze suggest for when you both want to be stimulated by the toy at the same time, I did try it out with my partner to use it directly on his penis. He enjoyed this, and even though it was the two smaller motors that he had to use, he found the vibrations they provided stimulating. However, he did find the shape a bit restrictive, commenting on how difficult it was to hold due to the internal shaft getting in the way (which, funnily enough, was almost identical to my problem despite being used basically in reverse). Additionally, he also had problems with how wide the gap between the two prongs are, noting that you’d need to be of an above-average girth in order to have them fit tightly enough to provide full stimulation, otherwise there’s no way to maintain constant contact with all sides of the penis during use.

Cleaning & Care

Funzze Couple Sharing Vibrator Ⅱ Close-up

While the fact that it is fully silicone and waterproof does help, due to the amount of texture, seams, and the fact that the buttons and charging hole are on the insertable portion of the toy, cleaning the Funzze Couple Sharing Vibrator II after using it internally is a bit of a pain. I’d recommend starting by soaking it in some warm, soapy water for a short period, before carefully scrubbing over all of the previously mentioned areas with a spare toothbrush, putting particular care into the charging hole and seam between the two ends, as these are fairly deep. Plus, you’ll also need to sterilize it if switching between anal and vaginal use, which you can do by wiping it down with a 10% bleach solution. You can then rinse it and leave to air dry, before returning it to its storage bag since it attracts a lot of dust. Alternatively, if you just used it externally, cleaning should be a lot quicker, as you don’t need to worry about scrubbing it (though these areas should still be cleaned if you plan on using it internally next). Additionally, be careful not to use silicone-based lubricants with the Couple Sharing Vibrator II, as it may have a negative effect on the material it is made with.

Final Thoughts

While I wanted to love the Funzze Couple Sharing Vibrator II, it seems to be yet another victim of the curse of “versatile” sex toy designs. Because whilst it can do a lot of things well, nothing about it makes me say wow, to the point where rather than co-existing in harmony, the two ends seem to be actively making things more difficult for each other. It was uncomfortable to hold in every position that we tried, and for our first couples toy without a remote control, the necessity of this item really showed. Plus, having the buttons face away from the user for most of the positions we attempted made what was already hard harder, and I don’t know how much time I wasted trying to turn it on because of the stand-by mode’s lack of haptic feedback. While it was always pleasurable to use, it felt like there was always something unpleasurable getting in the way of enjoying it fully, and so it makes it hard to recommend for any of the solo “sharing” options we tried, not to mention that it didn’t even come as advertised, with only seven instead of ten vibration modes. The only alternative would be for those who are interested in the toy for its double-penetration abilities, which is the only method we did not try and presumably not something everyone would be into (or able to do). Still, if you were looking for a low-priced toy that offered that, and wanted the ability to do a few other things with it as well, then while I can’t personally recommend it, perhaps it would work out. But if you are after a toy to use solo, or just on a partner, there are plenty of better options out there more worth your money.

You can get the Couple Sharing Vibrator II directly from Funzze for just $59.73 AUD / $37.99 USD!
