For my current review series, where I’ve been taking a look at the different styles of the panty vibe, I’ve spoken a bit about the recent spike in popularity that this otherwise out-dated toy has been experiencing as of late. So this week I thought it would be appropriate to take a look at the toy that seemed to start this trend, one that also happens to be the original inspiration for this series. If you think of the best clitoral vibrators in the industry, your mind (if you think like me anyway) will likely go to the We-Vibe Tango and Touch, so it makes sense that this innovative new toy comes from the same company. Titled Moxie, this is We-Vibe’s first attempt at an external panty vibe of this sort, and as far as I know also the first toy to implement magnets in such a way, as they are what hold this toy in place rather than the more traditional use of compatible underwear. Plus, We-Vibe have not only given us the gift of magnets with the Moxie, but have taken things one step further by also giving us all the control methods, as this toy is compatible with both a remote and app.
Product Description
After my first review in this series saw me looking at the Bestvibe Remote Wearable Vibrator, a poorly executed $34 USD toy that was designed to be worn inside your vagina and held in place by underwear, the We-Vibe Moxie feels like a huge step up. Everything about this product is luxurious, and I’d expect no less from one of the leading manufacturers in the industry. The vibrator itself is tiny and almost as small as the We-Vibe Tango, but it is also extremely elegant and beautifully designed. The aqua blue silicone couldn’t be a more perfect shade, being both bright but also almost pastel, and so it’s hard to complain about this toy not having any alternative colours. The front of the Moxie then features a small area designed for the magnet to sit, which is indicated by a switch from silicone to plastic, as well as the We-Vibe logo, metal charging plates, and a single button (which is indicated by a raised part of the silicone). On the back there is two different areas for you to have rest against your clit during use, the first being a raised bump and the second featuring a wave-like texture, so whatever your stimulation preference is We-Vibe have you covered. Also of note is how light the toy is and that the type of silicone used doesn’t seem to attract much dust, which is always a advantage. Plus, like all good sex toys the Moxie is both USB rechargeable and fully waterproof.
In addition to the toy itself, the Moxie also comes with two magnetic clips (one is a spare in case you lose the other, which is a really nice touch) and a remote control. The clips are just as adorable as the Moxie, being only a little bigger than my thumbnail, and also feature the same gorgeous blue colour. As for the remote, this is then We-Vibe’s usual which I’ve seen come with their toys before (although this is my first one), so I find this a little bit basic and boring-looking in comparison to the rest of the Moxie. Essentially it is just a small white piece of plastic that features the We-Vibe logo and a button pad, and it also has a hole at the bottom if you wish to attach it to something.
Packaging
We-Vibe sent the Moxie directly to me for review, and as such I won’t go into the shipping details. The packaging for the We-Vibe Moxie is beautiful, and similar to other We-Vibe products I have received before. Made from silky high quality cardboard, this box is extremely well-designed, featuring a beautiful blue gradient, art of the toy and its features, and a ribbon at the top for easy retail display. To open it the front of the box slides off, which then reveals the toy with a magnetic clip on and its remote behind a clear plastic screen (this is presumably so people can view the toy in the store, while still not being able to touch it). This screen can then be lifted off, however it is a little more tricky than it looks as it is actually connected under the toy, so you cannot take it off without also removing the box’s contents. This is kinda weird and not something I expected (I spent ages trying to just lift the plastic off), but I assume it is again done with the retail aspect of things in mind. Once everything is removed you can then take off the plastic to access the toy and remote, as well as the included accessories which are the spare magnetic clip, large satin drawstring bag for storage, instruction manual (which isn’t very detailed and strangely uses vague images instead of actual words, so I have been instead using this online manual to aid with my review), charging cord, and a sample packet of Pjur lubricant (however as this contains glycerin I wouldn’t recommend its use). In addition, the We-Vibe Moxie also comes with a two year warranty.
Charging
Charging the We-Vibe Moxie is easy as it is USB rechargeable. Simply plug one end into a USB port and the other end can then be connected to the magnetic plates on the toy. This is the same style of charger that I received with my We-Vibe Wish that I reviewed back in 2017, which made me a little worried because the charger for that toy was terrible, with the magnets being so weak that the slightest nudge of the toy would make the charger fall off. Thankfully, despite the matching appearance, the strength of the magnets on the Moxie’s charger is vastly improved, and I have no issues connecting the two. When charging a light on the toy should flash and this will become solid once the battery is full. Charging should take 90 minutes, and this should then give you two hours of play time. Additionally, when the toy is almost out of battery, it will alert you by a slow flash of its light.
Controls
The We-Vibe Moxie offers you three different ways to control it: using the button on the toy itself, using its remote, or using the phone application that it’s compatible with it. As such, I’ll be going through each of them here, starting with controlling the toy manually, which is a good option if you want to use it solo to masturbate. Due to the fact that there is only one button on the Moxie, using it in this way is very straightforward and feels quite familiar to me as a lover of the We-Vibe Tango. To turn the toy on just press the button, which will put you on the lowest steady speed, and then you can press it again to cycle through the 10 modes, four of which are steady speeds and six of which are patterns. Then, to turn the toy off you can hold the button down for 2 seconds. This is all great and what I am accustomed to with single button vibrators, however there is one big issue, and that is that the Moxie has a memory feature, which means that when you turn it on it will start on whatever vibration mode you turned it off during. This is meant to be a good feature, but I find it frustrating personally, as when I use vibrators I frequently turn them off and on again in order to quickly return to the lowest setting to aid with edging. But with this toy the only way to turn the steady speed intensity down is by clicking through everything else first, which is a real buzz kill, and it also means that I have to prepare the toy in advance before using it so that my clit doesn’t get completely numbed by the vibrator turning on at full power. Additionally, since the Moxie’s button only needs to be pressed once in order to turn it on, rather than being held down, I think a travel lock would have been a beneficial feature for it to include, as it’s reasonable to assume this is the sort of toy people would want to travel with.
The Remote
After struggling to use the toy manually due to the memory feature, I was eager to try out the remote to see if it would be a better option for masturbation. To connect the two, first hold the button down on the Moxie for five seconds, and this will then indicate it is ready to be connected by buzzing twice. After this you can then hold either the left or right arrow button down on the remote for five seconds, and once the Moxie connects it will buzz three times. You can then control the toy by using the left and right buttons on the remote to change modes, and the up and down buttons on the remote to increase the intensity of all the modes (they can’t get stronger, but can be reduced). To turn off the vibrations you can hold down the down button, and to unpair it (particularly if you wish to then connect to the app) you can hold down the left or right button for five seconds. Everything about this is great and I honestly have no complaints other than perhaps the amount of time it takes the remote to connect to the toy, and as such this has become my preferred way to control the Moxie during masturbation.
The App
Lastly I tried out We-Vibe’s We-Connect phone application, which is compatible with the Moxie and something I have previously reviewed alongside the We-Vibe Wish back in 2017. You can find all my thoughts, including key features and issues I experienced, at my sex toy app review round-up, but overall I found the Moxie’s wearable nature to be perfect for use with it. Plus, it’s way more discreet for my partner to be using his phone to control the vibrations than with a branded remote when out of the house. The only downside, though, is that in situations where your phone screen can be seen, such as at a restaurant, the We-Connect app’s brightly coloured display is the furthest thing from discreet.
First Impressions
Now I’ve spoken about all the ways to control the toy, let’s talk about what it’s actually like when I turn it on! Since this is a We-Vibe toy, makers of the legendary powerhouse of a bullet vibe that is the Tango, I had pretty high expectations for the Moxie. So I am glad to say I wasn’t at all disappointed the first time I turned it on to the sound of strong and rumbly vibrations. I do find that the silicone covering the toy does dampen them a little bit, but I think this was a smart decision as you don’t want things to be too intense while wearing this discreetly in your panties. On that note, I was also very impressed with the noise level of this toy as it is fairly quiet. I would certainly be concerned wearing this in a quiet and intimate space like an elevator, but if you are in a relatively noisy location where people are able to respect your personal space then I don’t believe anyone would hear this toy even at its strongest setting.
My Experience
The first few times I tried the We-Vibe Moxie was alone just to masturbate with, so that I could get a feel for what it’s like. I find its vibrations extremely satisfying as they are both rumbly and strong, and as such I can orgasm easily with the toy in this way. It isn’t quite as intense as the Tango due to the silicone like I mentioned before, but this is still certainly a good alternative to its bullet cousin, and may even be better if the hard plastic of the Tango is too much for you. Plus, the silicone does come in handy when using this toy alongside insertable products, as I often found that the Tango could pinch me when paired with a insertable made of a similarly hard material. The only real downside to using the toy in this way is the fact that I far prefer using the remote to control it, however this means I need to use two hands (one to hold the toy and one to hold the remote) which is not as convenient as a bullet vibrator where I only need one hand. It’s fine if I am just using the toy by itself, but if I also want to use insertable products or have PIV sex then it can be a bit annoying.
Next I decided to put the Moxie to the test in the place it was designed for: my panties! Getting the toy set up is super easy, just place it inside your underwear over your clit, and then put the magnet on the outside of the underwear and connect it to the toy. Everything about this design is flawless. The magnet is super strong, so there is no way this thing is going to slip down an inch let alone fall off. The size of the toy then also makes it almost invisible, so while you won’t want to be wearing skin-tight leggings with the Moxie, a skirt or jeans will easily keep it hidden. It is also super comfortable, which makes it all too easy to forget about when it’s not turned on (much to the delight of my partner). This is as it basically just sits against your front, rather than needing to actually be between your legs, so activities like walking and sitting are not hindered at all.
Using the toy with my partner has also been a lot of fun. The remote and app both work well, although we do occasionally have a little trouble with connections, particularly with the app which can sometimes disconnect from the toy randomly or have trouble registering that my partner is trying to connect as a “lover”. But other than that everything has been smooth, with distance not seeming to be an issue with either controller. Of the two he prefers the app as this way he can see what the vibrator is doing, which is super handy for when he cannot hear it or see me. But having two options is definitely beneficial as there are some situations where the phone isn’t the best idea, such as at a restaurant where having the remote on his lap is easier than trying to discreetly use his phone, or at a cinema where a phone just straight up isn’t allowed. While I am not able to orgasm using the Moxie while attached to my panties, due to the fact that I cannot achieve the level of pressure I require, using it like this still feels extremely good, and this is added to by the excitement and anticipation of my partner controlling it. I find it particularly excellent for foreplay, and then later when we can finally get down to business I am able to continue using it to help me achieve a clitoral orgasm during PIV sex.
Cleaning & Care
Cleaning the We-Vibe Moxie is easy since it is waterproof and silicone. Just wash it with some warm water and soap, and then leave to air dry before returning it to its included storage bag. Additionally, make sure to only use water-based lubricants with it. For security reasons the Moxie can only pair with two controllers, so if you wish to change these you can perform a reset of the toy by holding its button down for 10 seconds, which will indicate completion by flashing its light at the 5 second mark and then flashing again 3 times on the 10 second mark. Also, after 30 minutes of inactivity, the Moxie will automatically disconnect from the app or remote and enter sleep mode to save battery life, however this can be altered in the app settings and extended to up to four hours.
Final Thoughts
The We-Vibe Moxie has simply been a pleasure to review. Often when I receive innovative new designs like this there can be elements that seem confusing or unfinished. But I don’t get this at all with the Moxie, and instead it just feels like I am testing out a well planned and smartly designed toy that could have been around for years. The only real issue I had with it was that the memory feature when using the toy without the remote or app was inconvenient for my style of masturbation, but for a lot of people this will likely be a very handy feature. In regards to its use as a panty vibe, however, it is truly faultless. From the privacy aspects that make it essentially invisible during use due to its size, weight, and noise level, to being able to choose between two different methods of control to suit the situation, not to mention the fact that it’s just so damn comfortable to wear! This is easily the best panty vibe I have tried so far, but with one more to go in this review series it’ll be interesting to see if anything can top this amazing little vibe!
Updates
[29/4/24] It seems the OG Moxie has been “discontinued”, with the new version having a fancy plus mark at the end of its name (that’s what all the cool kids are doing these days, right?). But alas, the only difference between the toy I reviewed and the Moxie+ is aesthetic, bringing the toy in line with We-Vibe’s recent brand refresh. We’re talking a black instead of white remote, cotton instead of satin bag, new logos… truly wild stuff. Needless to say, my review is still relevant, despite the lack of +.
For everyone else, you can get it directly from We-Vibe for just $139 USD!

Great
A fantastically discreet panty vibe that features multiple control methods, and that also works well as a clitoral vibe for solo play.
