Paloqueth Dolphin Vibrator and Remote Control

The first sex toy I ever took notice of was the original We-Vibe couples vibrator, which has now been followed up by toys like the We-Vibe Chorus. Even though this was back when I was in high school, I remember it being a big deal and watching the toy break through into the mainstream (or as mainstream as a sex toy can be). I enthusiastically told all my friends how much I loved the idea of it, and tried very hard to win one when I attended my first ever sex convention that year. Despite then going on to work in the sex industry and review toys professionally, I still never got the opportunity to review that infamous style of toy that started it all for me. It certainly hasn’t been without me trying though, as numerous times I’ve had offers to review a couples vibe only for it to fall through. But here I am, finally, after all these years, with my first ever couples vibrator. It may not be a We-Vibe, but I was ridiculously excited to try out the Paloqueth Dolphin anyway.

What is a Couples Vibe?

Since it’s my first time at the blog reviewing one of these types of toys I’ll quickly explain how it works. Basically, it’s designed as a hands-free C-shaped vibrator that can sit in the vagina, with one end sitting over the clitoris to provide clitoral vibrations, and the other resting just inside the vagina for grip, or alternatively, against the G-spot to provide further stimulation (particularly if the internal arm also features vibrations). The toy can be used just like this or with a penetrable toy if alone, but the real idea behind it is that you would then engage in penetrable sex whilst it’s inside of you. You can then enjoy the toy’s vibrations during sex without having to worry about holding it there, and if it has an internal vibrator then your partner will also be able to enjoy the sensations on their penis.

Product Description

Paloqueth Dolphin Vibrator

The Paloqueth Dolphin is a very simple and fuss-free version of a couples vibe. It has all the usual functions you’d expect, such as being 100% waterproof, USB rechargeable, and made with body-safe silicone. There is two motors in the toy, one in the larger head that is designed to rest upon the clitoris, and another in the smaller internal arm which is designed for the G-Spot. In keeping with its name, the toy has a few aesthetic features that give off the impression of a dolphin, such as eyes and a nose on the external arm. The internal arm then also has a few silicone features, most notably a rather pronounced bump on the side which will rest against the G-Spot, presumably to help the toy grip better inside the vagina. On the back of the external arm is a white strip of silicone where the toy’s one button lies, and then next to this is the metal connecting points for the magnetic charger. Whereas most couples vibes aim to keep the point between the internal and external arms as thin as possible to make the extra penetrable insertion easier, this one is a bit bulkier, with this area having a circumference of 6.5cm / 2.5″. In addition to the vibrator itself, this toy also comes with a small remote control which is also made of silicone and features two buttons to control the toy with. As usual with Paloqueth products this toy sadly only comes in purple. It is supposed to be anal safe, but due to the flexibility of the arms I personally wouldn’t advise using it in this way.

Packaging

Paloqueth Dolphin Vibrator Packaging and Instructions

My order with Paloqueth was placed on the 27th of February and I received it on the 5th of March, which was fantastic since it was coming all the way to Australia. The mailing box did not mention the company who had sent it, but frustratingly listed the two items inside as “Massagers”, which was a shame since the last package I received from Paloqueth was 100% discreet. The box for the Paloqueth Dolphin is very simple, but it uses minimalist design and texture to make it seem luxurious. It also only features the brand name, keeping it discreet and reusable. Inside the box the toy and its remote rests in foam, alongside its instructions, charging cable, and a plastic bag for storage. This toy also comes with a 1 year warranty.

Charging

Paloqueth Dolphin Vibrator Charging

Charging the Paloqueth Dolphin is easy since it is USB rechargeable. Just plug in the charger to any USB port and then magnetically connect the other end onto the toys’ metal prongs. The magnets on this definitely aren’t the worse I’ve ever used, but they aren’t the best either, so you might need to be careful when placing the toy down to ensure it stays connected. When charging, the toy’s LED light will blink, and once fully charged this light will become steady. It should take around 2 hours to charge the toy, and then this will give you around 75 minutes of play-time. The remote is then a different matter, as this uses a lithium battery. The battery is included however, and there is a large plastic area on the back of the remote that you can open to access it. It took me a while to work out how to open this battery compartment though, which you might be able to tell from the photos, as the cheap plastic it was made of was no match for my coin when trying to unscrew it. Later I found that just using my fingers to push it to the ‘On’ side and then digging down into the silicone to pull it out was all it actually needed. Unfortunately though there is no mention of opening this in the instructions, as that would have likely saved me from trying to open it incorrectly and thus damaging it.

Controls

Since there is only one button on the toy itself, it doesn’t take long to learn and use. Although I will note that it can be initially confusing, as the single button is featured on a long white silicone strip, which you automatically assume has some sort of function, likely containing more hidden buttons. But instead it’s purely aesthetic and serves no purpose. Though despite knowing this I can’t tell you how many times I’ve starting pressing it anyway assuming buttons will be there. To turn the toy on, just hold the button down for three seconds, which will put the toy into a stand-by mode and activate a LED light on the button to communicate this. After that you can then click the button again to cycle through the toy’s three steady speeds and six pattern modes. Once you’re done, just hold the button down for three seconds again. I love all of this as it is simple and works very similar to some of my other favourite one-button vibrators, such as the We-Vibe Tango and Nu Sensuelle Point. My only complain however would be that it is a shame you cannot operate the two motors independently at all.

The Remote

The remote, on the other hand, has two buttons, but overall it functions the same as the Dolphin. First, put the toy into stand-by mode, and then press the power button on the remote. This will then connect the two, although there is no indication on whether this actually works, and I think an LED light here to communicate this would have been a good touch. You can then press the vibrations button on the remote to cycle through the vibrator’s modes again, the same as when you’re controlling the toy directly. This remote would be very handy depending on the types of sexual positions you’re in, as you don’t need to reach down and try and change the vibrations whilst it’s inside of you, and also gives your partner a chance to control the toy. Plus, the remote works from up to 30ft away, which means you could also use this toy in all sorts of other kinky situations.

First Impressions

I find the motors in this toy very similar to the motors in the two previous Paloqueth toys I have tried, the Mermaid and Rabbit. I adored the vibrations in these other two, but they were G-Spot vibrators, which I have a much lower standard for than clitoral vibrators. So in this regard I was a little worried that my clit would find the vibrations in the Dolphin too buzzy for its liking. The internal arm’s vibrations are then a little weaker than in the external arm, but this is to be expected since it is much smaller. In terms of noise this is alright, it is a little louder than I would have liked, but I don’t think you’d need to worry too much if using this behind closed doors.

My Experience

The first time I tried this toy was just by itself. It’s relatively easy to insert, although can be a little tricky just because I’m not use to this sort of ‘C’ shape. My G-Spot is fairly far back in my vagina, so I was not surprised that the internal arm does not even come close to it. It’s fairly comfortable, but can come out on its own quite easily if I am not careful. Turning on the vibrations, I found that the internal ones do nothing for me, and the external ones miss my clitoris by a long shot. Most of the external vibrations are in the large head of the toy, near the Dolphin’s face, but my clitoris is actually located closer to the button, where there isn’t as much stimulation. I can still receive clitoral vibrations, but it means I just need to hold the toy down onto my clit, as there is not enough pressure on it without doing this. I don’t mind this at all, although it does take away from the hands-free element. Using the toy like this I do find the vibrations buzzier than I am accustom to, but I can orgasm from it anyway, even if it takes a little while. I can’t see myself continuing to use it in this way though, as since the internal arm does nothing for me it’s a messy way to achieve something I could just use a clitoral vibrator for.

The next test was with my partner. We were both excited and warmed up to use it, but unfortunately quickly found it wasn’t going to happen. I have a difficult time using wide toys in my vagina, and so we found that we weren’t able to get both the toy and his penis inside of me at the same time. We tried for awhile, and the few times they did both go in it was way too painful for both of us to continue for any longer than a few seconds, and this was made worse by the bump on the internal arm which really seemed to rub against my internal walls wrong. At one point we thought we had finally gotten it, with both him and the toy inside of me relatively comfortably whilst I was on top, only for the toy to then fall out and stab me right in the clit, ouch! It goes without saying we stopped trying after that.

I kept testing the toy a few more times after this by myself, trying to get it to work. I tried using it with some of my smaller dildos, such as the Funkit Toys NoFrillDo R, but no dice. Then I tried using it with my Tantus Splish, which, with a diameter of 2.5cm / 1″, is my smallest dildo. That was finally enough to be able to fit them both at the same time, but even then it wasn’t as I had imagined. This was because I couldn’t then thrust with the Splish, as every time I would try the Paloqueth Dolphin would just come out with it, rendering the Splish inside of me essentially useless.

Paloqueth Dolphin Vibrator

Looking back, it seems obvious that this would happen to me, but I think my excitement blinded me. I know from experience what my limits are, and the combination of any good-sized penetrable and the Paloqueth Dolphin certainly exceeds this, so I can’t say I am surprised. But I am a little disappointed in myself, because even though I love my body it can be hard to not feel ‘broken’ when issues like this arise. Having this be my first couples toy though also makes it hard to judge, as from what I understand of other types of this toy is that the middle of the two arms is usually very thin so that this problem is avoided, whereas on this toy it’s the same size as the internal arm. So perhaps the fault lies more in the toy, not me. Honestly, I’m not sure, although I do know that a thinner middle would have helped me immensely.

Cleaning & Care

Cleaning the Paloqueth Dolphin is easy since it is made from silicone and is waterproof. Just throw it in some soapy water when you’re done, give it a wash, rinse, and then dry. You can then store it in the bag it came in or in a zip-lock bag. Make sure to not use silicone-based lubricant with this product, as it may react badly to the silicone it is made of, but if you do then first perform a spot test.

Final Thoughts

Overall I feel very disappointed after testing the Paloqueth Dolphin. But this is very much a toy that did not work for my body personally, and my negative review is not based solely on faults of the toy itself. For me I found the external arm too long for my clitoris, internal arm too short for my G-Spot, and middle too big for my vagina to also accommodate other penetrables. But you might find it works perfectly for all of these areas, or that it works in some spots and not so much in others. Everyone’s vagina is different, and that’s the risk you get when purchasing sex toys such as couples and rabbit vibes that have to assume specific measurements. In regards to the areas of the toy I can be more objective about, I found that the vibrations were quite strong and not too loud, the buttons on both the toy and remote functioned perfectly, and the design was cute and playful. Another fantastic thing about this toy is that it’s incredibly budget-friendly, so even though buying it may be a risk, it’ll be a cheap one.

Sadly, the Paloqueth Dolphin has now been discontinued.

    • While I haven’t reviewed any, if you’re looking for a U-shaped couples toy similar to this, I would recommend We-Vibe’s range. I have the Chorus and love it, although they have all different styles to suit a range of budgets.
