Bestvibe Suction Vibrator

When I first started blogging, suction toys were nothing more than the newest gimmick to hit the market. But six years later they remain some of the industry’s bestselling products, and just like me and my blog, it looks like they’re here to stay. One aspect to them that hasn’t really seen much improvement over the last few years however is their price tag, as with original makers Womanizer and Satisfyer continuing to dominate the market (and sending lawsuits to anyone who dares make their own), they have ensured these toys remain inaccessible for most. At some point over the last year though, perhaps due to the ongoing pandemic and corresponding boom in sales, I feel like the industry as a whole finally said “fuck it”, and collectively started creating their own versions at a rate even Womanizer and Satisfyer’s fancy lawyers couldn’t keep up with. So today for our review I’m taking a look at my cheapest suction toy yet, the $25 USD Bestvibe Suction Vibrator.

Product Description

The Bestvibe Suction Vibrator is primarily a suction toy, although as its name suggests it can also work as a G-Spot vibrator. The current trend of companies promoting their toys as multi-use by telling consumers to use the handles internally, despite them clearly not being designed for that purpose, is one I immensely dislike, and by the looks of things that’s what’s going on here too. Although at least Bestvibe have included a motor in the correct spot and positioned the Suction Vibrator’s buttons at its other end, seemingly obvious basics that are better than I can say for most. Still, I can’t really imagine its flexible tapered tip doing much for my G-Spot, and so it’s the suction that I was really interested in with this toy, and whether or not it could really be worth it for such a low price. Available in just one colour, it is at least a beautiful emerald green that I love, and a strip of gold plastic that runs around the non-removable suction nozzle only further adds to this sense of luxury. Two buttons are then located on the back of the toy, whilst the charging hole is found directly under the nozzle. Finally, this toy is sadly only splash-proof, which is definitely a disappointment considering water play is popular with suction toys, as it often enhances their sensations.

Packaging

Bestvibe Suction Vibrator Packaging

Bestvibe sent their Suction Vibrator out to me on the 16th of January and I received it promptly by the 25th. The package didn’t list who had sent it, but the contents were labelled as “plastic massage”, which really isn’t the most discreet, and for my full unboxing you can check this out. The box for the toy itself was then fairly small and blue, with nothing on it except some packaging symbols and a picture of toy. Ironically, the picture appears to be show the toy next to some water, presumably after being submerged in it, which might not have been the best choice for something that is “forbidden” (as Bestvibe’s instructions state) from being immersed. Opening this up, you’ll then find the toy, its instructions and its charging cord all resting securely in foam. Overall this is all very basic, but aside from the potentially misleading imagery on the box I think it’s suitable considering the toy’s price. The Bestvibe Suction Vibrator also comes with a one year warranty.

Charging

Bestvibe Suction Vibrator Charging

Since the Bestvibe Suction Vibrator is USB rechargeable, charging it is easy. Simply plug one end of the cord into a USB port, and the other end into the hole on the toy that’s just under the suction nozzle. Keep in mind you’ll need to break through the silicone the first time you charge it, so you will need to be a little forceful. When charging a light on the toy will flash, and once this is complete the light will become solid. Unfortunately I haven’t been able to find any information about how long charging is suppose to take, but on a full battery Bestvibe suggest you have around 60 minutes of use, which sadly isn’t much for a vibrator. Finally, the Suction Vibrator also features a low-power mode, as when the toy is almost out of battery the lights on it will flash to alert you.

Controls

Bestvibe Suction Vibrator
Strangely the two buttons are facing different directions.

The Bestvibe Suction Vibrator only has two buttons and so controlling it is fairly straight-forward. One has an obvious power symbol, and this is what turns the toy off and on, as well as controlling the vibrations, whilst the heart button simply controls the suction. This means that the vibrations and suction can function separately, which is great as they can’t be used together anyway. To turn on the toy first hold down the power button for two seconds, which will put it into stand-by mode as indicated by a light on the power button (this can be hard to see if you cover the button completely with your finger). You can then click the heart button (strangely this is depicted as a triangle in the instructions) to turn on the suction and cycle through its modes, or the power button again to turn on the vibrations and cycle through its modes. Both vibrations and suction have the same six modes, with three being steady and three being patterns. Finally, to turn the toy off just hold down the power button again, but if you somehow forget and leave it in stand-by mode, it will turn off automatically after 10 minutes. While on the surface this all seems good and it does function smoothly, there is something very strange here. I’ve been reviewing suctions toys for around five years now, and in all that time this is the first toy that has not only offered patterns, but had such a limited range of speeds. When it comes to vibrators, three steady speeds and a few patterns is totally the norm. But I feel like Bestvibe missed the memo that this is absolutely not the case when it comes to suction. With this sort of stimulation you need a gradual build up of intensities, and I’m not sure three is going to cut it. Plus, while patterns are something I dislike in any toy, I would imagine they could become quickly overwhelming in a suction toy, and it seems I’m not the only one who thinks that considering they have been entirely absent from them until now.

First Impressions

After realising that this toy has only a shocking three levels of intensity (for reference, my favourite suction toy has a fairly standard 12. And no, this wasn’t listed on Bestvibe’s website), I was pretty concerned for this review. But things only continued to get worse. It seems Bestvibe neglected to include another very important piece of information regarding their Suction Vibrator on the website, and that is that according to the instructions, this toy isn’t just for suction and vibration, but it is also for “tapping”. Now, even if Bestvibe had listed this I’m sure I still would have agreed to this review, because I don’t really know what they mean by that, but I’ll tell you now: it’s not good. Essentially, there is a small plate within the suction nozzle that can quickly move back and forth in order to create a tapping motion on your clit. It sounds fine in theory and similar to the Lora DiCarlo Carezza that I recently reviewed, but when you consider the intensity of suction stimulation already… and then add on something repeatedly hitting your clitoris? Well, it has me worried, and sounds far too similar to the sort of stimulation that has caused injuries with another toy. Anyway, while the rest of the suction feels fairly light, at least the noise level remains low. On the other hand, the vibrations are quite loud, while also remaining very buzzy.

My Experience

Bestvibe Suction Vibrator

The first time I properly used the suction on the Bestvibe Suction Vibrator was unfortunately the last. I like to maintain a minimum of three uses of a product before writing a review, but while I have tried it out a few more times since to double check I am not wrong about it, I have sadly been unable to complete my regular testing due to safety fears. You see, the first time I tried it, I was immediately unimpressed. The suction is practically nonexistent (more on this later), and the controls for it just seem to adjust the “tapping” plates instead. This meant that half the time I didn’t really feel anything, and the other half was just searing pain as the plate finally hit me. Then, even once I grew accustom to it and started seeking out the plate for some kind of pleasure, this was still incredibly minimal. Plus, to top everything off, for some reason the noise level of the toy completely changed after a couple of seconds of use, making it one of the loudest suction toys I’ve tried in addition to the worst. Anyway, being the good reviewer I am, I kept using the Bestvibe Suction Vibrator for about 15 minutes until I finally achieved a seriously terrible orgasm (the toy even shut off half way through just to really round it out), but at least it was over then… or so I thought. Almost immediately I started to feel pain in my clitoris, and it got to the point where I spent the next day barely able to move without feeling stabbing sensations there. Now, this is a feeling I am not completely unfamiliar with, as it is a downside to suction toys that can occur from overuse. But usually it happens after hours of multiple orgasms with them, and even that is not as bad as how this toy made me feel in just 15 minutes.

Turning it around and using the “G-Spot vibrator” handle of this toy was then pretty much what I expected. There is a reason no actual dildos or internal vibrators are designed to look like this, because this shape does make for a very pleasant experience. The tapered end makes me feel like I’m being poked uncomfortably, and that combined with its length makes thrusting a no go. The size of it also means it cannot reach my G-Spot, and while the curve in its body does aid with this a little, there is not enough surface area for it to properly stimulate it even if it could reach. Not to mention that despite the buttons being located at the other end of the toy, they do still get considerably messy during play, making the controls, and later cleaning, difficult. On that note, turning the vibrations on doesn’t really improve things either, since there isn’t really anywhere the toy can direct them, and they’re too buzzy to work on my clitoris instead.

Cleaning & Care

Cleaning the Bestvibe Suction Vibrator is relatively easy, but you do need to be careful to not get it too wet as it is only splash-proof. Just wipe the nozzle down with a little soap and then rinse it in warm water. If you have used the handle internally then you can do the same, but you may also need to scrub over any areas where bacteria may have hidden, such as the controls, charging hole and legal symbols, with a spare soapy toothbrush. You can then leave it to air dry and store it however you want, although if you plan on using it internally then I’d recommend using a zip-lock bag to keep it sterile. Since it is made out of silicone, also ensure that you do not use silicone based lubricant with it, or if you do then first perform a spot-test.

Final Thoughts

Bestvibe Suction Vibrator Handle

I wanted to try the Bestvibe Suction Vibrator to see if effective clitoral suction could really come at such a low price tag. But I’ve got to admit, after testing this I don’t even think it is a suction toy, let alone an effective one. When I talk about suction stimulators, I am referring to a type of toy that uses air waves in order to provide contact-free pleasure. But while this item looks similar in appearance, the technology used is vastly different, and comes off as a very poor (and potentially dangerous) attempt to replicate this popular type of sex toy. By having a small plate vibrating within the nozzle, a slight amount of suction is created, so that when you place the toy over your clitoris you do feel the typical sensation of a seal being made. But this is a bit of a trick, as after this there is no suction or air waves to provide pleasure. Instead you’re just left with the vibrating plate, which can provide some stimulation, however is more likely to end up injuring you. Plus, even if there wasn’t any issues, the pleasure it provides doesn’t even come close to comparing to any of my actual suction toys. And don’t even get me started on the vibrator element of this toy. Due to all of this I definitely cannot recommend the Bestvibe Suction Vibrator in good faith, and so if you’re after a cheap suction option I’d suggest checking out my reviews of the Satisfyer Curvy +2 and Womanizer Liberty instead.
