Satisfyer Curvy 1+ and 2+

When suction toys were first announced, I couldn’t help but be sceptical. But as soon as I tried my first one, I knew it was something special, and since then they’ve just kept on getting better and better. Never before has a type of sex toy so consistently raised the bar year after year, somehow finding new ways to improve upon things that I had already deemed perfect (and really messing with my ratings system). Something else about these toys that has raised over the last few years, however, is the price …at least it has on my blog. That’s right, while suction toys still come in a huge range of prices, my personal love for them has seen me requesting more and more costly options lately, with the culmination of that being my recent review on the Womanizer DUO, a $330 AUD product that (as far as I know) is currently the most expensive stimulator on the market. But while trying these luxury products has been fun (particularly for me), I also want to be able to promote and recommend products that the average person can consider purchasing, and that is not the DUO. So today I am finally breaking my streak and taking a look at two of Satisfyer’s brand new mid-range products, the Curvy 1+ and Curvy 2+.

When JOUJOU first reached out to me about reviewing these two toys I had a quick look at their product pages and confusingly saw no immediate difference between them besides their price, since the Curvy 1+ is slightly more expensive. I figured though, that whatever the difference was, it would become clear pretty quickly once I received them. Well, skip to a few days later when I unboxed them, and I still didn’t have a clue, with even their instructions and packaging being identical besides from the name difference. In fact, even now after completing all of my testing I’m still not entirely sure. While still so new that Satisfyer have yet to start promoting them personally, which may help clear things up, there is one key difference that appears on press releases and retailer product pages like JOUJOU’s however, and that is that the Curvy 2+ is also designed to be used as an insertable G-Spot vibrator. Now, while this does make some sense considering that this product, unlike the 1+, is fully silicone, it also downright just doesn’t make sense, considering that the buttons, debossed text and symbols, and magnetic charging plates are all located at the “insertable” end of the toy. Plus, the vibrations barely even stimulate that area, as they are instead focused around the suction nozzle. To be honest, it just feels like someone at Satisfyer fucked up and approved two different designs of the same toy, and when they realised their mistake, they just said “hey, you can stick that in a vagina, right?”.

Satisfyer Curvy 1+ and 2+

Functionally, the Satisfyer Curvy 1+ and Curvy 2+ are the same, which makes talking about both of them in the same review easy. They’re both suction toys that also vibrate, which is the brand’s speciality these days, and feature everything else you’d expect from a good quality sex toy, such as being body-safe, waterproof, and USB rechargeable. The thing that makes them special however, and the reason for their existence, is that they’re the very first toys released to be compatible with Satisfyer’s highly anticipated phone app, Satisfyer Connect. Then, as for their visuals, the strange thing about these toys is that while they have all the same features, everything is slightly off, such as a logo being moved by just a few centimetres and so forth. The quickest way to tell them apart is their differing colour schemes, with the Curvy 1+ coming in white or rose red, and the 2+ coming in white or pink (naturally I chose the coloured options). Then, while the 2+ is fully silicone, the majority of the 1+ is ABS plastic, with just its nozzle and controls being made out of silicone. On this note, three buttons make up the controls, whilst the nozzles are not removable like on most other suction toys. Both then feature Satisfyer logos on the front and back, whilst on the back you’ll also find the magnetic charging plates. The most important difference between them in my opinion however, which I’ll talk more about later, is their suction holes, as not only is the 1+’s textured (something I’ve never seen before), but it is also far larger than the 2+’s.

Satisfyer Curvy 1+ and 2+ Packaging
The packaging for the Satisfyer Curvy 1+. See the link below for the Curvy 2+’s.

My order with JOUJOU for the Satisfyer Curvy 1+ and Curvy 2+ was placed on the 28th of July and I received it promptly on the 31st, which was brilliant considering the current postal delays. Plus, the box was completely discreet, with no mention of the sender or contents. Since my last Satisfyer review, which was around this time last year, the company has completely re-branded, with a whole new visual identify that I am 100% here for, and because of this the packaging for these toys is nothing like what I’ve received from them in the past and a massive improvement. Clearly taking inspiration from the magnetic doors Womanizer loves so much, Satisfyer have put their own spin on things, using bright and bold colours to differentiate themselves from the more luxury brand. Identical asides from the toy each box is promoting and the colour schemes, with the Curvy 1+ using a mix of pink and blue whilst the Curvy 2+ uses two shades of blue, the initial exterior of each just features images of the toy alongside information on it. Then, opening the cardboard wraparound using the little ribbon handle, the product itself is revealed to you, alongside more product information. Next comes my favourite bit, which is the safety seal these products feature. Typically a boring little sticker you need to cut, whose presence assures you no one has tampered with your product, Satisfyer have gone one step further with theirs by using a perforated strip, reminiscent of the ones you tear when opening cling-wrap boxes. Not only is this a lot of fun to tear open, but it is also a lot more secure than a sticker, which can ultimately be removed and replaced. Once this is gone you can then access the toy, and behind it lies its charging cord, a brief instruction booklet, and two other small booklets going over safety and the product’s 15 year guarantee.

Since both the Satisfyer Curvy 1+ and 2+ are USB rechargeable, charging them is easy. Simply plug one end into a USB port and then connect the other end with the magnetic plates on the toy. The only downside, however, is that they are quite possibly the weakest magnets ever, and getting them to stay connected long enough to charge is a real challenge. Once connected however, charging will be indicated by a flashing light, which will then become solid once complete. This should then take around three hours, which will give you an estimated one hour of playtime. While this isn’t the best ratio that Satisfyer have ever had, it is at least an improvement from the last product of theirs that I tried.

Satisfyer Curvy 1+ and 2+ Charging

Controlling both toys using the buttons on them is easy and intuitive, particularly as they use the exact same system as many of Satisfyer’s other products. Essentially, the suction and vibrations are controlled entirely independently of each other, so that you can choose whether you want to use them separately or together, with the wave symbol controlling everything relating to the vibrations, and the other two buttons controlling everything to do with the suction. To turn the vibrations on, simply hold the wave button down for two seconds, which will start the vibrations on their lowest level. You can then continue clicking this button to cycle through the toy’s ten vibration speeds, three of which are steady speeds and seven of which are patterns. When done you can then hold this button down again. As for the suction, you can turn this on by holding the button with the power symbol down for two seconds, which will put the suction on its lowest strength. You can then continue clicking this button to increase the suction by 11 levels, or use the final button to decrease the suction again. Finally, to turn the suction off, hold down the power button again.

This is only the second suction toy I’ve tried that offers app-compatibility, with the first being the We-Vibe Melt, and considering how fantastic the We-Connect app is, Satisfyer Connect had some high expectations to meet. Finding it in the Apple Store to start was easy, as I only needed to type in “Satisfyer” for it to appear. Its appearance on my home screen is then quite discreet, and only someone who is familiar with the brand would have any idea what it is. However, if you are worried about privacy, then thankfully Satisfyer not only allow you to create a pin that must be entered to open the app, but you can even set up face identification with it. Turning it on for the first time I was then immediately impressed with how it looks, as it really makes use of Satisyfer’s fun new branding with its bold contrasting colour choices and diverse imagery. Plus, plenty of tutorial screens means you’re never left wondering how something works.

Connecting the Satisfyer Curvy 1+ and 2+ to the app is easy. Just hold down the power button for four seconds until you hear it vibrate twice while in the My Satisfyers page, which is accessed in the top right-hand corner of the app (if previously paired then the two will automatically connect once the toy is placed in this stand-by mode). This page will then display a list of all the toys that have been paired with it, whether connected or not, and will show the battery level of your connected toy. You also have the ability here to give a nickname to a connected toy, or unpair it if you wish for it to be connected to a different phone. One thing that this app does that is special, however, is that you are able to have multiple toys connected at once, and can choose to either switch between controlling them, or control them all at the same time. As for the button in the top left-hand corner, this is your Profile page, where you can access settings and help, as well as be prompted to make an account, which will then allow you to use this page to set your profile picture, username, availability and status.

The Satisfyer Connect app has four main screens, Close Range, Remote Partner, Community Share, and Alarms. Starting with Close Range, which is designed for simply controlling your toy, you have four additional options. Program Play is a way to access the regular steady speeds and patterns a toy has, but it also allows you to create your own, as well as save sequences made up of different modes. Next is Live Control, and this is a way to control the toy with your finger movements, as well as create new programs based on it. Also worth mentioning when talking about both of these modes is the way Satisfyer have designed their control screen. By separating the screen vertically, they have made controlling the vibrations and suction independently easy, as you simply need to swipe the left-side to adjust the vibrations, and swipe the right-side to adjust the suction. Dual lines also then correspond to your movements, giving you or a partner a visual representation of what you’re actually doing. Combining the two so the two motors are controlled simultaneously is also easy, as is pausing it or looping the controls with the buttons at the bottom of the screen. Then, at the top of this screen is a timer, which is probably my least favourite thing about this app. The final two control options are Ambient Sound, which uses my phone’s microphone to increase or decrease the toy’s motors, and Music Vibes, which is essentially the same except you can choose audio files to run instead. Out of everything this toy offers, the notorious Music Vibes, a mode multiple companies have tried and failed at, was what I was most excited for, particularly as Satisfyer Connect boasts compatibility with Spotify. At first I thought the curse had struck again, as multiple tests saw the app simply producing errors when trying to connect the two, but eventually I got it to work, and let me tell you, watching my vibrator dance around to my favourite music is a pure joy.

To access the other three screens, you’ll need to have an account. Remote Partner is where you are able to search for and connect with other users through the internet, and is set up to allow you to have multiple partners added. Once connected you can then send each other messages and images, as well as set a timer for how long you want these things to appear. You can also enter a call with them, with audio and video being optional, and it is through this that they can control your toy. You’re presented with three options: Give Up Control, which allows you to give control of your connected toy to your partner, Swap Satisfyer Control, which is for when you both have your own toy connected and you want to swap control, and Sync, which allows one person to control both toys. In this regard, it doesn’t really matter which of these options you pick if you only have one toy between you, as ultimately they’ll result in the same thing. The next screen is Community Share, which is something I haven’t seen before, as it allows you to upload patterns you’ve created for other users to try out. While pretty sparse right now since the app is so new, this is definitely something I can see becoming a brilliant resource with time. Last up is the Alarms screen, which is probably one of the oddest features I’ve seen on a sex toy app, however I have unfortunately been unable how to figure out how to use it. Overall though I have thoroughly enjoyed using this app, with it easily being one of the most user friendly and visually appealing I have tried so far, and considering how new it is I am incredibly impressed by how few bugs I ran into.

One of the biggest issues with suction toys, especially Satisfyer suction toys, always seems to be the noise they cause. So, considering the Satisfyer Luxury, which was the last Satisfyer product I tried, was my loudest yet, I was pretty nervous about what these far cheaper toys would sound like. But I was pleasantly surprised to find that they’re actually quite low in volume, so much so that they are actually on par with the quietest toy I’ve tried from Satisfyer, and my second quietest suction toy in general, the Next Generation Pro Penguin. While I do find the Satisfyer Curvy 2+ slightly louder than its counterpart, and both of them a tad louder than the Penguin once their vibrations are also turned on (not that this makes a huge difference), their low volume is still an unexpected delight, and goes a long way to allowing them to be used discreetly. Then, in regards to their suction, I was a little underwhelmed by how they initially felt on my finger, not having the same sort of “pull” that I’ve felt from other recent suction toys, and as for the vibrations these were extremely buzzy and very similar to the Luxury’s. Finally, the nozzles between the two toys are obviously fairly different, with the Curvy 1+ featuring a wide, textured opening with not much cushioning, and the 2+ having a smaller, non-textured hole, with slightly more cushioning. But what’s most interesting is that the 2+, and thus the 1+ as well, has the largest opening I’ve ever seen on a suction toy in general.

Satisfyer Curvy 1+ and 2+ Nozzles

As soon as I placed the Satisfyer Curvy toys over my clitoris, there was an obvious difference between them to the previous stimulators I have tested. Typically suction toys create this intense sucking feeling, a sharp sensation that almost feels like your soul is being sucked out via your clit, but in a really good way. It’s hard to describe if you haven’t tried it, but anyone who has will be familiar with that mind-numbing, tear-jerking, pull that suction toys create. Plus, in recent years a more thuddy sensation has also started to pop up in addition to the sucking, which has really helped take things to another level. But with these toys it is all thud, and no suck. Now, don’t get me wrong, these toys feel really good, but is it the same feeling I know, love, and adore? No. Instead, I find the feeling to be reminiscent of a regular clitoral vibrator, and orgasms with the Curvy 1+ and 2+ are perhaps some of the slowest and least intense that I’ve ever had with a suction toy. Despite this, testing them compared to my previous suction products showed that while they lack the typical sensation, they are still more pleasurable than most of my older products. But when it comes to newer and more expensive toys such as the We-Vibe Melt, and especially the Satisfyer Luxury and Womanizer Premium and DUO, there is absolutely no comparison. As for testing them against each other though, that’s where things get really interesting, and we finally start seeing a difference between the two toys. While the texture on the 1+ doesn’t make an impact during use, the larger hole certainly does, as it causes the suction to feel far less intense than on the 2+. Things then only get worse when the vibrations are also turned on, as my skin simply doesn’t have enough contact with the 1+ for these to be effectively felt. In contrast, I actually enjoy using the vibrations in combination with the suction on the 2+, as they really add a different dimension to the toy. Overall, this has meant that during use I far prefer the Satisfyer Curvy 2+, as it’s far more pleasurable than the 1+ in every way.

As for using the Satisfyer Curvy 2+ as an insertable G-Spot vibrator, this has been just about as terrible as you’d expect. Not only does it force you to use the toy’s app, as the buttons are going to be inside of you, but all the little details that are also located at the end of the product, such as the debossed logos, make cleaning it afterwards hell. The shape is then absolutely not the sort of thing you want to put inside of yourself, with a pointed end and sharp silicone ridges on the sides, which just makes it feel like something poking at my insides. The curve also isn’t nearly enough for the toy to come anywhere near my G-Spot, which isn’t at all surprising. Plus, even if it did work, the so-called “G-Spot Vibrations” aren’t even going to be able to stimulate you, as they are instead centred around the suction nozzle. Basically, my final opinion on this is the same as my first one: this toy was not designed to be used this way, and quite simply shouldn’t be.

Satisfyer Curvy 1+ and 2+ Buttons

Even though the nozzles cannot be separated on these toys, cleaning them is still easy as they are waterproof. Simply place them both in some warm, soapy water, and then rinse and leave to air dry. If you do use the Satisfyer Curvy 2+ as an internal toy however, you’ll want to do a more elaborate clean, using a soapy toothbrush to scrub all the areas where bacteria may have accumulated. After this they can be stored however you want, but again if you’re using the 2+ internally then I’d recommend keeping it dust-free by placing it in a sealed bag. Since the 1+ and 2+ are made out of silicone ensure you don’t use silicone based lubricant with them. Furthermore, I have found prolonged use of suction toys can make my clitoris quite sore the next day, so I wouldn’t recommend using either of them excessively if you are planning on having any rigorous sex or further masturbation within the next 24 hours.

There is one thing I can say with confidence after testing the Satisfyer Curvy 1+ and Curvy 2+ side by side, and that is that the Curvy 1+ should not exist. If we ignore the whole “G-Spot insertable” element of the 2+, then these are the exact same toy aside from one key difference, and that is the size of their suction holes. While it seems like only a minor change, this makes a big difference to how a suction toy feels in use, and in this case not only does it mean that the 2+ is a lot more pleasurable, but it also allows for its vibrations to have far more effect. After this, there is only one other thing that separates these two, and that is the fact that the Curvy 1+ costs more money. Why? Surely you’d think that the 2+, which does everything the 1+ can do and more, would be the most expensive of the two, but nope. So, if the 2+ is more pleasurable and costs less? Then it’s a no brainier which of the two is better, and leaves me wondering why the 1+ exists at all. The only reason I can think of is for those of us that need a larger-sized nozzle, but considering how Womanizer include multiple nozzle sizes with their products for this very reason, it seems like a pretty weak excuse for Satisfyer to release an entire toy. As for whether I think the Curvy 2+ is worth it in comparison with my other toys though, my opinion is a lot more positive. Yes, it wasn’t as intense as products that cost hundreds of dollars more than it, but it wasn’t trying to be, and that’s certainly not what I was after. Rather, all I wanted was a low-budget suction toy that still felt good, in the hope that it could become an entry-point for people who are interested in this sort of stimulation, and in that regard the Satisfyer Curvy 2+ delivered in spades. Plus, with such a comprehensive app attached to it, you’ll feel like you’re playing with a luxury toy.

11 Comments on Review: Satisfyer Curvy 1+ & 2+

  1. Thank you for the thorough and great review. How would you compare the Satisyfer pro 2 next generation against the Satisfyer curvy 2+ ? Can’t decide between the two for the life of me. The app and suction patterns sound amazing as I can just let go and chill but I’ve heard the pro 2 is better in terms of power (and maybe feeling?) Also it is what the actual brand is known for. What is your insight?

    • I’ve since reviewed the Satisfyer Pro 2 Next Generation where I discuss the difference between them a little. My recommendation between the two though would be the Curvy 2+, particularly if you can get it for less than the Pro 2 (which is the case at many retailers). While similar in power, the Curvy is a bit more intense, plus it offers so much more in the way of app control and vibrations. Hope this helps!

  2. Do you think the Curvy 1 is good for trans men with a lot of bottom growth, then? The issues you had might not be the same in this case maybe?

    • Absolutely! That is one of the great benefits to any suction toys with larger holes, and I definitely think it would help negate my own issues.

  3. Hi! Which one would you recommend more: the curve 2+ or the satisfyer pro 2? I was wondering how big the difference is in suction.

    • The suction is very similar, so I would go by whatever you can get the cheaper deal on. Although with that in mind, the Curvy does offer A LOT more than the Pro 2, such as the app and vibrations, so if those sound good to you I’d go with that.

  4. The Curvy 2+ is not meant for g spot stimulation. They have another toy on their website, the Dual Pleasure, which has a suction end and an insertable vibrating end. It’s not a simultaneous thing but more and either or. You can insert the vibrating end and theoretically use the curve for happy stimulation and use the suction end separately.

So warm up with the suction or work on a clit orgasm then follow the g spot end for an internal orgasm. I have yet to try it but I like the multifunction idea and will likely buy it to check out.

(I don’t have my own blog yet so no one is sending me free toys- how does one get that set up?)

    • Great to see Satisfyer don’t list it for internal play on their website! Unfortunately this wasn’t live when my review was written, and it is listed as being intended for G-Spot play on their press releases and many retailer’s websites. I also have the Dual Pleasure and will be reviewing that one soon, so hopefully the idea works out better.

  5. Curvy 1+ is awsome! Its big mouth engulfs my clit and so I get stimulation of more of my sensitive bits. Steady purring of the air pulsing and max vibration gets me to where I want to be quickly. Remote app is fun, especially the ability to control motor speed and pulsing using a music track on my phone.

  6. I had the Satisfyer Curvy 1+ Twice and it both did not work. So it worked perfectly in the beginning and after it went flat and I charged it , it never worked again, first i had the pink one and after I charged it, it did not start anymore. It got replaced by the shop and i got the white one and the same thing happened again, it did not start at all, it only kept blinking.. I really don’t know why it keeps happening 😢 so I’m about to get a 3rd replacement but I’m afraid that it’ll be the same. So i just want to know if I’m doing something wrong… like am i charging wrong?

    • I’m so sorry to hear this! I don’t see how you could be charging it wrong though. It must just be an unfortunate coincidence that both have been faulty. I hope you can work with the retailer to find one that works, and please let me know how it goes!
