Le Wand Point

For a long time, and perhaps even now, my drive for sex toys was driven by aesthetics. I love cute things, but in no other aspect of my life am I able to justify buying multiple versions of essentially the same product just because it looks different. I would never think to purchase different watches or headphones just to have a variety of styles, even if there were slight technical differences between them, but for some reason sex toys defies this thinking for me (and not just because I’m a reviewer). It feels like you can never have enough of them, and I am more than happy to buy a large range of dildos, butt plugs, vibrators and more, even if I already have one that does what it does, based solely on how they look. In fact, I even have multiple versions of the same product just so I could get it in different colours! My point is that I love the aesthetic possibilities that sex toys provide, and so today I want to talk about a company who has embodied this idea perhaps better than any other, and that is Le Wand.

Le Wand is a relatively new US-based company who first entered the industry back in 2017, and they have been making waves ever since. Initially launching with just a wand vibrator as their flagship product, which is also aptly named the Le Wand, they have since expanded into a range of high quality vibrators and silicone wand attachments, and more recently stainless steel dildos. Their aesthetics and designs are on point, and with a stellar brand that’s focused on sex-positivity and inclusivity, they’ve been on my radar for awhile now. One of the stand-out aspects of their brand to me, however, is the way they treat their flagship toy. While it is quite simple looking ordinarily, they have continued to release special edition versions of it throughout the years, using collaborations with artists to cover the toy (and related accessories) in beautiful designs. If you’ve ever wondered how anyone could buy multiple of the same sex toy, these Feel My Power products will change your mind. As amazing as these wands are though, today I’ll instead be reviewing the Le Wand Point, which is the brand’s recent contribution to the world of clitoral vibrators.

Le Wand Point Texture

The Le Wand Point is part of the brand’s new Chrome Collection, which is a series of toys designed to be compact and versatile versions of their beloved vibrators. The five products all use a combination of body-safe silicone and a reflective chrome-like metal, and come in two colour options: rose gold or black. Despite the Point’s name, the toy is actually more of a pebble shape, and uses a curved and weighted body (182g) to allow it to function as a lay-on vibrator. This means that rather than holding the toy to yourself like you’re probably use to, the Point can be instead placed over your clitoris for hands-free pleasure. I have the rose gold version, and while the light pink silicone area is silky smooth and soft to the touch, the metal’s reflective surface is instead cold and hard. I don’t think I’ve ever had a toy with a surface this mirror-like before (as even the Njoy Pure Wand was too curved to really work as a mirror), and while it looks beautiful in person, it does sadly make photographing it difficult. On the curved underside of the toy is then three wavy lines protruding from the silicone, which work as an element of texture as well as added grip to ensure the toy doesn’t slide off you, while on the top of the silicone is the Le Wand logo. The metal section is then where you’ll find the toy’s three buttons, as well as the charging port at the very end, which is covered in a silicone latch. In addition to being body-safe, this toy is also waterproof and USB rechargeable, and features a travel lock for easy transportation. Also worth mentioning is that while this is easily one of the most beautiful vibrators I own, there is a slight downside to the Point for me in that my copy has a small dent in its metal, however this would probably not even be noticeable if it wasn’t for the fact that it is placed right next to its buttons.

Le Wand Point Packaging

The Le Wand Point was sent to me by a distributor, and as such I won’t go into the shipping details. Prior to receiving it I wasn’t fully sure what to expect from the packaging as this is my first product from Le Wand, but considering their stylish designs and luxury image I had a pretty good feeling about it. I wasn’t let down either, being presented with a beautifully designed box that reminds me of what iPhones come in. Using a clean design that takes full advantage of white space, Le Wand display pictures and information about the toy alongside reflective printing which further emphasises the chrome quality of the collection. Two safety seals then rest at the back of the box, and once these are broken you can lift the top part of the box off to reveal the toy safely secured inside. The Point then also had its own safety seal, which they have presented beautifully, and rather than taking away from the toy it instead adds to the wow factor when you lift the lid off. Finally, behind the plastic that the toy rests in you’ll find a luxurious micro-suede storage pouch which features the brand’s name, instructions, and a charging cord. Overall I am very happy with all of this, but the only downside for me is that the lid is a little loose, so that once the safety seals are broken it’s quite difficult to keep the two components together, which isn’t an issue if you’re just throwing the box away, but may be if you had planned on keeping it for storage. In addition the Point also comes with a one year warranty.

Charging the Le Wand Point is super easy. Just plug one end of the cord into a USB port and the other end into the hole at the bottom of the toy. When charging a light will flash on the toy, and once fully charged this light will become steady. Charging should then take 1.5 hours, and this will give you around one hour of play time. Then, when low on battery the Point’s light will flash to alert you of this. Le Wand also get extra points for having their logo on their charger, which is a feature I am always here for as it makes picking out the right charger so much easier, although whereas most companies have specially-built chargers for this purpose, it appears Le Wand have just placed a sticker on theirs. There’s nothing wrong with this really, but considering this is supposed to be a luxury brand it does seem a little cheap.

Le Wand Point Charging

The Le Wand Point has three buttons and using them is fairly simple and easy to remember. Essentially, the top and bottom buttons feature plus and minus symbols respectively, and since these are what control the power of the toy and the vibration strengths, they are all I need to use. This is because the middle button only controls the patterns, which I don’t personally enjoy. I do feel that Le Wand could have probably done a better job of indicating the purpose of this pattern-only button however, as instead of the classic wavy line they instead chose to put a circle symbol on it, and have also further emphasised it by having it in a darker colour than the other two buttons, which probably explains why I kept thinking this was a power button when I first got it. Anyway, to turn the toy on you can press the plus button, which will put the Point on its lowest steady speed. You can then continue clicking the plus button to increase the Point by 5 levels, and alternatively you can use the minus button to lower these levels. At any point you can also click the circle button, which will allow you to flick through 15 different pattern modes, and these can also be increased or decreased in speed. When done you can then hold down the minus button to turn the toy off. In addition you can also hold down the plus and minus buttons for five seconds when the toy is off to activate the travel lock feature, and success of this will be indicated by the light flashing twice. You can then either repeat this or place the toy on charge to deactivate the lock.

Le Wand Point Buttons

I’ve heard great things about the vibrations and motors within the Le Wand products, so I was pretty eager to turn the Point on for the first time when I received it. Even with my high expectations though I was still surprised at just how rumbly and wand-like this toy’s motor is, as the deep sensations it produces feel like they should be coming off a large massager rather than a tiny clit vibe. The strength is then also quite strong, although it doesn’t go as high as perhaps I would like, and while the vibrations transfer well through both the silicone and the metal, I do find that the metal picks them up slightly better. Another thing that surprised me was then the noise level of this toy, which is practically nothing. I’m pretty sure every vibrator on earth is listed as “whisper-quiet” regardless of what it sounds like, but this toy actually is, and it might in fact be one of the quietest toys I own, which is crazy considering how powerful it is.

This is my first “lay-on” clitoral vibrator. I’ve had hands-free internal toys before, and plenty of external panty toys, but never a clitoral toy that is just designed to sit over me and provide “lazy girl” (as Le Wand put it) pleasure. Generally I need a lot of pressure to be able to reach climax with a toy, which is why as fun as panty vibes are I don’t think I’ll ever be able to orgasm from just having one in my knickers. But the weighted body of the Point was definitely reassuring, and I was eager to try it out. Getting it in place and then making it stay there, however, was not easy. I’ve found that no matter how I angle my pelvis or body, the Point will not stay over my clitoris, as its weight will always make it fall off. Instead, the only way I’ve managed to use this toy as a lay-on vibe is to place a large pillow underneath me, so that my entire backside is raised into the air. It does feel a bit silly, but with a good pillow it’s comfortable enough, and it would certainly be a great use for your sex pillow if you have one. After this I can get it to stay put relatively easily, and I’ve found my favourite way to position it is so that the silicone end is resting over the lower end of my vaginal opening, whilst the metal part is nestled in my labia and over my clitoris. This unfortunately does not work during PIV sex with a partner or when using internal toys though, which makes it not ideal for those since you’ll need to hold the toy in place.

Le Wand Point Storage Pouch

The first few times I actually tried this toy out was just by holding it, instead of using the lay-on method, so that I could get a feel for it and also to try it out with internal toys. But I was quite surprised to find that despite the seemingly rumbly vibrations, they just didn’t really seem to do anything for me. I find them pleasurable, but they just aren’t strong enough to bring me to an easy climax, and I find myself constantly clicking the plus button in vain trying to raise the speed. However, when I started using the Point as intended, by simply placing it over myself rather than holding it, my whole experience with the toy changed. The vibrations are subtle and work best with a slow build, and so by just resting the Point over my clitoris and allowing its weight to press down against my skin, they were much more enjoyable. Using the product like this while looking at something stimulating such as porn is fantastic, and a type of gradual masturbation that I am not accustomed to, where I can slowly build up the intensity over a longer period of time. Plus, having both my hands free to do other things with is always preferable. Then, just when things are at their height, grabbing it to hold the silicone tip down on my clit while on its highest speed is just perfect, and creates some truly satisfying orgasms. Two more quick things I love about this toy during use is the coldness of the metal when I first place it over myself, as this adds an extra form of stimulation, and the ease of its one-click turn on, as this makes getting it into place and then turning it on a lot easier.

Cleaning the Le Wand Point is easy as it is waterproof. Just wipe it down with some warm soapy water, rinse, and then leave to dry. Afterwards you can store it in the provided pouch. Make sure to not use silicone-based lubricant with this product, as it may react badly to the silicone it is made of, but if you do then first perform a spot test.

I don’t really think the Le Wand Point was made for me. Firstly, there is a clear emphasis on patterns within this toy, not just because there is 15 of them and only 6 speeds, but also because the pattern button is so clearly marked for use. So as someone who has never really enjoyed patterns on her toys and would do away with them completely if she could, this really didn’t work for me. Then there was the lay-on aspect, which I haven’t ever tried before, but knew straight away I’d probably have trouble with due to my love of pressure on my clitoris. There was also the fact that I very rarely use clitoral vibrators on their own, as 99% of the time I combo them with either an internal toy or my partner, so one that isn’t really compatible with these things isn’t ideal. Lastly, when I finally did work out how to use the toy, the orgasms were slow and drawn out, which was a far cry from my usual “let’s see how many orgasms I can fit in within the next 30 minutes” sessions. Despite all of this I did thoroughly enjoy using the Le Wand Point and if I ever am in the mood for a slow and subtle, but ultimately satisfying orgasm, then I know what I’ll be using from now on. But if all of the above sounds like it might be your jam, then perhaps you’re the person this product was made for, and I have a feeling you’re really going to like it.
