Sohimi Deep Sucker

I know I’m a little late to the party, but a few weeks ago I finally bought my first makeup sponge. I’m already obsessed, and whilst I’m no beauty influencer, I’d highly recommend getting one if you use liquid foundation. So, when Sohimi reached out recently about trying some more of their toys, it felt a bit like fate when I saw a clitoral stimulator cleverly disguised as a beauty blender in their store. They sent the Deep Sucker out to me right away, and whilst the shape is great, I do think the size, which is more than double a typical makeup sponge, offers a clear hint that this item isn’t what it seems. Regardless, with a standing design that places the suction nozzle at its base, this is still a promising sex toy for anyone who needs to maintain their privacy.

Product Description

The Deep Sucker, or “Adorable Deep 9 Sucking & 10 Vibrating Modes Female Vibrator Toy” as the Sohimi website calls it, is a clitoral stimulator. I was looking forward to both aspects of the toy, the advertised suction and vibrations, however the immediate bad news is that the latter is nowhere to be found. At first I thought perhaps Sohimi intended for the residual sensations the suction is putting out to be the “vibrations”, even if this is incredibly weak, but that still doesn’t explain the fact that there is supposed to be “10 vibrating modes”, when the toy only has the nine levels of suction. Apart from this confusion, the Sohimi Deep Sucker is a very simple toy. It has just one button to control the suction with, and on the other side of this you’ll find two metal plates for the magnetic charger. Its beauty blender, or teardrop-style, design, which consists of a rounded bottom and pointed tip, is only available in this bright red colour, and whilst I was imagining it to be soft like the sponge it’s inspired by, it’s actually almost completely firm, with the only exceptions to this being the very tip and the area around the suction nozzle. Although visually, the only downside is a light seam that runs around the toy just under the button. Finally, this stimulator is also USB rechargeable, body-safe, and fully waterproof.

Packaging

Sohimi Deep Sucker with packaging and instructions

My order with Sohimi for the Deep Sucker was placed on the 16th of October and I received it on the 27th. The package was then completely discreet, not mentioning the sender or what was inside. As for the box of the toy itself, this was the usual white-label style I have come to expect from the brand, being entirely black except for some warehouse addresses on one side. Since these are generic addresses, however, and won’t reveal anything sex-related in a web search, the upside of this box is that it is entirely discreet. Although the downside is that the card it is made with is thin and of poor quality, and this combined with the fact that the satchel it arrived in had absolutely no protection, has meant that the box is somewhat damaged, creating a fairly bad first impression. Opening this up, you’ll then find the Deep Sucker resting in foam, alongside its charging cord and an instruction manual that refers to it as the “Dew”. In addition, the Sohimi Deep Sucker comes with a one year warranty.

Charging

Sohimi Deep Sucker charging

Since the Sohimi Deep Sucker is USB rechargeable, charging it is easy. Simply plug one end into a USB port and place the other end over the metal plates on the back of the toy so the two can connect magnetically. This connection is fairly sturdy, although it can occasionally disconnect, so do be careful upon placing it down. Once on charge, a light should flash, and this will become solid upon completion, with charging taking 1.5 hours to give you roughly one hour of use. Strangely, there are two errors within the instructions relating to the toy’s charging, with it instead listing the Deep Sucker as taking two hours to charge and stating that the toy’s light will remain solid during and then turn off upon completion. Finally, Sohimi also recommends charging the Deep Sucker before first use.

Controls

Sohimi Deep Sucker controls

With just one function and one button, controlling the Sohimi toy is simple. To start, just hold down the button until the indicator light turns on, although it can be tricky to tell when this has happened in a well lit room. The toy will now be in stand-by mode, and you can continue clicking the button to cycle through the nine suction modes, five of which are steady speeds and four of which are patterns. Finally, to turn the toy back off you can hold the button down again. Overall I love how easy all this is, although if I was going to suggest a change, it would be to get rid of the unnecessary stand-by mode.

First Impressions

My initial impression of the Sohimi Deep Sucker was one of disappointment, as I realised the advertised vibrations were a myth. At least the suction seemed promising, creating quite a pull on my finger and having plenty of room within the hole to avoid any discomfort. Although whilst it seems Sohimi have tried their best to create a protruding nozzle, by having the area around it indented, because it’s at the base of the toy, it is still a relatively flat area, which could be cause for concern with creating a seal. Plus, I’m not particularly impressed with the noise level of this toy, which is very loud, and easily one of the noisiest suction toys I’ve tried. You definitely would not be able to use this if privacy is important, and considering the whole point of the Deep Sucker was to be a discreet sex toy, this is a massive flaw.

My Experience

Sohimi Deep Sucker nozzle

Placing the Sohimi Deep Sucker over my clitoris is easy due to its deep nozzle, even with that flat surface. However, my fears about it struggling to form a seal because of this are unfortunately correct. What’s more, I find the suction to be lacking in general. It starts out quite promising on the first mode, but as the speed is increased, it quickly loses any depth to its sensation, similar to when you use an overly buzzy vibrator that gets worse the more power you put into it. This is not helped by the fact that there is no way to reduce the speed, and turning it on and off again is hindered by the stand-by mode. Plus, every now and then when I do start getting into it, I find myself accidentally clicking into one of the pattern modes since I’m so unaccustomed to a suction toy offering them, which is a quick way to kill the mood (or an orgasm, which has unfortunately happened to me a few times). Ultimately I can climax with the Sohimi Deep Sucker, but it is not the usual hard and fast experience I am used to with stimulators. It’s also a real shame there are no vibrations included, as that pointed head and curved body is just begging to be used.

Cleaning & Care

Since the Sohimi Deep Sucker is made from silicone and is 100% waterproof, cleaning it is easy. Simply wipe down the nozzle with some warm soapy water, before rinsing and leaving to air dry. I’d also recommend trying to shake out any water that may have gotten stuck within the nozzle in advance, as otherwise this can make for an unpleasant experience when you go to use it. Additionally, make sure to avoid using silicone-based lubricants with this product, as it may damage the silicone it is made with.

Final Thoughts

Sohimi Deep Sucker tip

I love the idea behind the Sohimi Deep Sucker. But unfortunately in its current form, it’s gonna be a no from me. There were three things I was excited about here: its suction, its vibrations, and its discretion. And yet, only one of those things actually worked, and even that wasn’t great. Whilst the shape and soft silicone tip looked primed for clitoral vibrations, they were nowhere to be found. Did they ever exist? According to the instructions, which I’m not even sure can be trusted, they didn’t. Then, whilst it has that discreet makeup sponge shape I was looking for, this is quickly let down by its size, bright colouring, and most of all, intense noise level. Finally, whilst the suction is present, it is weak, and even climaxing with the Deep Sucker is a struggle. Perhaps if this was a few years ago, I would have still recommended this product as a budget alternative for suction beginners. But, considering Sohimi’s ROSE, a far superior product, is only slightly more money, there is really no need.

No vibrations in a clitoral vibrator? At least the Sohimi Deep Sucker included suction, but this was so weak it hardly seemed worth it.
