I’ve loved watching the rise of the independent fantasy maker over the last few years, but one downside to the trend is the high costs associated with these products. Now, I don’t mean to imply that these toys aren’t worth their prices, of course they are. The amount of time and effort that goes into creating unique designs and then hand-crafting them to ensure maximum appeal, pleasure and safety is huge, and that’s without even considering the cost of silicone, equipment, and all of the other fees and skill sets required to run any small business. Yet I am also aware that it has created a divide between those who can and those who cannot afford them, therefore making anyone looking for a cheaper option more susceptible to instead accepting, either knowingly or unknowingly, a toy made of unsafe materials as an alternative. So, when I saw Funzze had their own version of a fantasy dildo, and for less than $40 USD, I knew it was something I had to investigate further.
Review: The Orb Vibrator
After ten years of reviewing sex toys, I often feel like I’ve seen it all. And if I am excited about a new product, it is usually only because of its brand reputation. So when Peepshow Toys got in touch recently and asked if I wanted to review a toy I’d never heard of before, I immediately dismissed it. Since I’m just one person, I can only review so many products, and as I was already in the middle of reviewing the Njoy Disco and Swan Maximum Bullet for them, I knew I would sadly need to turn whatever it was down. Well, never have I changed my mind so fast! Because once I actually clicked on Peepshow’s link to see what The Orb Vibrator was, I was instantly sold. Turns out I hadn’t seen it all after all!
Review: Funzze Pink “O”
I always try my best to review budget-friendly sex toys where I can. But when it comes to round-ups like my annual Top 10, it’s easy to forget these kinds of products in favour of the more premium offerings I’m so lucky to have access to. So that’s why it was such a surprise, both to myself and to my readers, when I released my 2023 rankings, only for one of the most inexpensive brands on the net to have not just one, not just two, but three products included! It was the first time since 2020 a single brand has taken out that many top spots, but even that was high-end Womanizer, with products that ranged from $150 AUD to $330 AUD. In stark contrast, Funzze’s three will only set you back a mere $40 AUD to $100 AUD, and the cheapest of the bunch just so happened to be my favourite type of sex toy: a pressure wave stimulator. So, when the brand recently reached out again about completing some more reviews, I went straight to their suction section to see if they had anything that could possibly rival it.
Review: Boutique Voila Little GOO
As a toy industry freelancer, I wear many hats. But one of my favourite roles to step into is that of a design consultant. When I first started offering it as a service, it felt like a no-brainer: I know sex toys like the back of my hand, and for almost ten years now I’ve been reviewing them and offering recommendations on how they can be improved. I know what works, and what doesn’t, and with a collection now nearing the thousands, I’ve amassed a wealth of industry knowledge and experience to look back on. So, why not offer my thoughts in a private setting, rather than on my website, for toys that are still in development? It’s been a lot of fun, but the one downside is not being able to share it with all of you… until now! So, without further ado, I’d like you all to meet someone very special to me, the Boutique Voila Little GOO.
Review: YoYoLemon Licking Vibrator
Acoustic masturbation isn’t something I get up to much these days considering my job as a sex toy tester. But it’s where I, like many others, had my start with pleasure. I’ve always opted for non-penetrative play, ruining many pillows and bedsheets during my youth, which is why external toys like wand massagers and suction toys continue to be my favourites today. And it seems I’m not alone, with the majority of people with a clitoris choosing to focus on this too. Yet this isn’t something I was aware of growing up, and even though I had a much more comprehensive sexual education than most, I was under the belief that fingering was the correct way to masturbate (apparently this was taught during a class I missed, alongside a video demonstration on it, although I now wonder if my friends were just joking). I hated the idea and avoided it despite my concerns that I was doing something wrong, and even now the only things to enter my vagina are toys, my menstrual cup, and my partner. But for today’s review I’m hoping to challenge my thoughts on this common style of masturbation, with the YoYoLemon Licking Vibrator!
Review: Le Wand Flick & Stroke
Wand massagers are the world’s most iconic sex toy, and for good reason. Their large size means they can house motors far bigger than the average vibrator, allowing for a power level that just can’t be matched. Combine this with an easy handle, making the product good for both solo and partnered use, plus the fact that many are now rechargeable for wireless play, and it’s easy to understand why these products are such an essential for any toybox. Not to mention that they are probably the most accessible toy there is, working for every body, regardless of gender, sexuality or body parts. The only downside is the high price tag, which means that for many people, massagers are cherished items and the only toy in the house. So, what do you do when you’ve already forked out for one, but are starting to fancy something different? Get an attachment, of course!
