Review: Pink Punch Sunset Mushroom

Pink Punch Sunset MushroomOne of the most memorable products I’ve reviewed this year so far has to be the Pink Punch Peachu. Whilst the suction toy sadly wasn’t able to satisfy me as well as I hoped, I was blown away by every other aspect of it. Despite being a relatively new brand with only one other product under their belt, Pink Punch had clearly applied a high level of thought and consideration into their flagship stimulator, with the design of the toy itself and everything else relating to it being exceptional. The Peachu, based appropriately on a peach, is a mini work of art, as is its discreet packaging, unique storage case (which doubled as a charging dock), and cyberpunk-style phone app for long-distance control. So, when that review was done, the only thing on my mind was getting my hands on Pink Punch’s other release, the Sunset Mushroom.

Sohimi NORMA

If there’s one thing sex toy manufacturers love doing, it’s jamming their products full of as many features as possible. It means that these days, shopping for a vibrator isn’t too far off from buying dishwashing tablets or laundry detergent, as even though they couldn’t be more different, I still somehow find myself sorting through every possible variation of the phrase “X-in-1”. The upside to sex toys, as opposed to cleaning products, is that at least the different functions are actually identifiable and give you more options for use (sometimes I think the detergents are just all the same except with different labels). Which brings us to today’s review, which, of course, is all about a 4-in-1 thruster vibrator called the Sohimi NORMA.

Wand massagers are the world’s most iconic sex toy, and for good reason. Their large size means they can house motors far bigger than the average vibrator, allowing for a power level that just can’t be matched. The two biggest trends in sex toys right now is sucking and licking, as the industry continues to move away from penetrative toys to instead focus more on clitoral pleasure, much to my delight. So I suppose the challenge for manufacturers out there today is simply deciding which one to use, since only a suction pump-style toy, like the Honey Play Box Scioness, seems to have succeeded in doing both at once. But then, of course, there’s nothing this industry loves more than multi-use toys, and so today we’re looking at a product where the brand has decided to well and truly throw out the rulebook and say “what’s stopping me from making both?”. If you’ve spent much time in sex toy land over the last few years, you’ve no doubt heard of the Fantasy For Her. This unique product that melded licking, sucking, and vibrating into one for the first time went viral, and has remained one of the best-selling toys on the market ever since. Despite my obvious interest, however, I have declined any request to review it, due to it being manufactured by one of the most unethical brands in the industry, Pipedream. If you aren’t aware of their racist, fatphobic, transphobic, and just generally shitty nature, I’d recommend checking out Miss Ruby Review’s post on it, but the point is: I do not review their products, no matter how popular. Yet when I saw that my blog sponsor, Honey Play Box, had released their own version of what the Fantasy For Her offered, I knew my chance to see what all the fuss was about had finally come.

I spend a lot of time at the blog talking about the flourishing independent dildo maker scene happening in Australia and New Zealand right now. In fact, I even did a full round-up all about the various local small businesses that have recently started selling their own lubricants. But one of the things I haven’t discussed nearly enough is the exciting range of vibrators currently being produced down under. Stores such as Frenchie, LBDO, Normal and Vacation Vibes are just some of the brands leading the charge in Australia right now, whilst across the pond we have Wellington success story Share Satisfaction. I remember watching as their flagship product, Kama, became one of the country’s best-selling sex toys in 2020 and 2021, and since then I’ve been eager to get my hands on their products to try. So when they recently reached out and asked if I would like to review their Coco, it was an instant yes!
