The 5 Best Types of Sex Toys for Cam Girls

Before I was a sex toy reviewer, I was a cam girl. It was one of the reasons why I first started my now huge collection of dildos and vibrators, except when I began I had truly no idea how to buy adult sex toys online. Instead, I usually just spent my time making Amazon wishlists filled with whatever I thought was the cutest and the cheapest. But after my inexperience and penny-pinching led to health complications (more on that later) and a number of toys arriving that wouldn’t even turn on, I started to do my own research into toys, which is what ultimately led me down this path. Yet even this wasn’t exactly straight-forward, as I quickly found that the world of sex toys is a complicated place filled with misinformation, and working out which advice to follow and which toys were best wasn’t the easiest task. As such, today I’ve decided to write a guide on what I now consider the 5 Best Types of Sex Toys for Cam Girls, as I know I would have found something like this super helpful back then, and so I hope you do too.

Rather than just typing up a shopping list like most articles of this nature, I have instead tried to highlight certain styles of toys, so that you can still choose which specific products are most appropriate for you based on your budget and pleasure preferences. As always feel free to leave a comment or contact me directly via email or social media with any questions you may have.

Interactive Toys

Let’s admit it, we’re living in the future. We might not have flying cars or hoverboards yet, but we’re pretty damn close with our home assistants, drone pizza deliveries and facial recognition vending machines. So it makes perfect sense that our toys should also be technologically savvy. I’m talking about interactive sex toys, or teledildonics, as is the official name for them. The initial idea for these sorts of products was to allow people in long-distance relationships to be able to transmit their movements to each other through two compatible toys. However, the tech has since evolved from just that, and these days toys that are compatible with phone applications for long distance use have become quite common.

So while the above might be good for couples and private shows, how does it translate to large public shows? Well, when OhMiBod released their sound-activated line of vibrators, cam girls were quick to realise that would include tip sounds. Lovense then took this idea one step further, and developed a range of toys that are actually linked to your cam room. This means that not only can you set your toy’s vibrations to be different depending on the amount you’re tipped, but you can also use it with games like Keno, send direct control to highest tippers, and much more.

Hands-Free Fun

Using dildos on cam isn’t always the most flattering activity. That’s why using toys that you don’t actually have to hold is super convenient, and gives you a lot more control over your image. The cheapest option for this is to buy a suction cup dildo, which is a common feature that a lot of products offer these days. But if your favourite toy doesn’t have one then don’t stress, as attachments like these let you quickly add one to any dildo with a flat-base. Once you have a suction toy, you can then easily stick it to either your wall or floor (as long as they are made of a smooth, flat surface) so you can enjoy it hands-free in a range of positions from cowgirl to doggy style. However, if you do have a bit more money to throw around (or some very nice fans), then upgrading your set-up to include a sex toy mount or even a sex toy machine is always a good idea.

Toys That Show Off Your Personality

There are a lot of cam girls out there, so standing out amongst the crowd isn’t easy. But sex toys present a great opportunity for this, as choosing unique items rather than just the typical realistic dildos and pink rabbits immediately showcases that you’re different. As with any other aesthetic item, such as clothes and lingerie, sex toys should be an extension of your personality, and by keeping this in mind you can also use them to help support whatever brand image you’re trying to create. Companies like Geeky Sex Toys are just one example of the small indie brands that are currently creating these sort of unique items. Enjoy anime and anything kawaii? Grab a unicorn horn or magical girl inspired dildo. Do you wish Halloween was every day of the year? Then consider a pumpkin ball gag or ghost dildo. Or perhaps you built your brand around simply being a geek, in which case their store also offers toys from a range of different fandoms, such as Game of Thrones, Marvel, and Pokemon, letting you choose whatever you think reflects you best. By having these sorts of unique toys on show for those new to your cam room it also helps attract the sort of audience that you’re looking to cultivate. For instance, if you’re after gamers as your audience, then imagine how fun for them it would be to choose which video game inspired vibrator you get to use during a cum show!

Pillows & Throws

Okay, so these technically aren’t sex toys. But they’re still very much sex related and help with everything else I’m talking about here, so I felt they were still pretty relevant. To be honest, I don’t see a lot of cam girls utilising these sorts of items, and I think it’s a bit of a travesty. Sitting on cam for hours at a time, often at weird angles and positions to make yourself look good, can put a huge strain on your body, and so comfort is of the utmost importance in this industry. That’s why the sex pillows that brands like Liberator make can be so helpful, as not only can you mix-and-match them to create support for whatever strange position you find yourself in next, but the material is also moisture-resistant and machine washable, so you don’t need to worry about things getting messy. On that note, Liberator also offer the popular Fascinator Throw, which is a must-have for any cam girl, but particularly those who squirt. It may just look like a plush blanket to most (great for those who need to be discreet), but its moisture-barrier lining means it’ll keep whatever you place it on dry, and then when you’ve finished your show you can just throw it in the wash.

Anything Body-Safe

While I’ve recommended a lot of good stuff above, there is really only one thing that matters when it comes to buying sex toys, and that’s making sure they’re body-safe. Almost every day I see cam girls on Twitter sharing photos of their jelly toys and it’s really devastating to watch. But I always resist commenting, because I don’t want to be that person, as much as I kinda wish I was. I’ve written about the effects that non-body safe toys can have a few times, and I am speaking from first hand experience, as the first toy I ever bought burned me internally so bad I had to go to seek medical help. But even if you’ve had a jelly toy for a while and are thinking, “I’ve never had any problems with it, so this one must be okay”, please understand that the biggest problem with these products is that they degrade over time, so a toy that is fine right now might start causing you serious health issues later down the track. You can check out my Materials Guide to learn more about what this all means, but your best bets are to stick to silicone, metal, and glass toys, and to make sure you’re getting what you’ve paid for (as some companies lie about which materials they’re using) always buy from reputable sex toy stores, never Amazon or eBay.
