Bestvibe Flirting Magic Wand

It’s been five months now since I moved, and yet I’ve only just finished unpacking all of my sex toys. Rather than having a bedside table filled with all the wonderful perks of my job like usual during this time, I instead had to choose just one toy to get me by. My selection, of course, had to be my beloved Magic Wand Rechargeable, which remains my favourite toy despite also being one of the oldest offerings in my collection. Spending all of this quality time with a wand massager really reminded me just how much I love them, and even though they may not be the trendiest toy right now, they are still unbeatable in terms of versatility and power. So, when Bestvibe approached me about reviewing some toys from their store recently, I told them there had to be a wand massager, and they directed me to their Flirting Magic Wand.

Product Description

The Bestvibe Flirting Magic Wand, or “Bestvibe Flirting Massaging Strong Vibrating Magic Wand Vibrator” as the Bestvibe website calls it, is a mini wand massager. It has a compact and light-weight design that is made of 100% body-safe silicone, with the exception of a small area of reflective plastic at the end of the handle. The long, rounded head then differs from most other massagers by being completely firm, however a bendable neck does allow for flexibility. Padded detailing on the handle makes this the softest area of the toy, and here you’ll find three buttons for controlling the Flirting Magic Wand across its eight vibration speeds and twenty pattern modes. A hole at the very end of the toy then allows for connection to a USB charger, and this also helps keep the product fully waterproof for play in the bath or shower. Coming in three colours, but only currently available in black, the only visual downside is a prominent seam that is visible across the toy’s body and head. Lastly, a notable difference between what I received and what is shown on the Bestvibe website, is that my copy does not feature any kind of logo above the buttons.

Packaging

Bestvibe Flirting Magic Wand Packaging

My order with Bestvibe for the Flirting Magic Wand was placed on the 22nd of February and it finally arrived on the 7th of March. Then, while there was no mention of who sent it, the package was unfortunately listed as containing a “Plastic massage”. As for the item itself, this was packaged in a rather generic and cheap cardboard box, which is the norm for white-label products such as this. Featuring a picture of the toy on the front of the box, alongside some information on what it can do, opening this up you’ll then find the toy alongside its charging cord and one-page instruction manual.

Charging

Bestvibe Flirting Magic Wand Charging

Since the Bestvibe Flirting Magic Wand is USB rechargeable, charging it is easy. Simply plug one end of the cord into a USB port and then stick the other side into the hole at the bottom of the product’s handle. When charging a light on the toy will flash, and this will become solid upon completion, with it taking 3 hours to provide around 1.5 hours of playtime. Bestvibe also recommends charging the toy before first use.

Controls

The Bestvibe Flirting Magic Wand has three well labelled buttons, making it very easy to start using. Simply press the bottom button with the power symbol to turn the toy on and off, whilst the top button controls the speed and the middle button controls the mode. Lovers of patterns will be happy, with 19 modes (20 if you include the steady speed, and a total of 160 combinations when used with the speeds!!) to choose from, and this all works smoothly. However, the toy is let down greatly due to the way Bestvibe have set up the eight speeds. When you first turn the Flirting Magic Wand on, it is already running at its highest speed, making use difficult right from the get-go. Pressing the speed button, this then starts by decreasing the vibrations, and once it reaches the lowest point it will immediately start increasing them again. This is not at all user-friendly, as it means every time you go to use the Flirting Magic Wand you’ll have to start by decreasing the vibrations to the lowest point (as otherwise you risk just numbing yourself out), which will require you to count to eight in your head, as otherwise it’s pretty much impossible to get right. Then, when clicking through to get back to the highest speed, you’ll again need to count (which seems even more unlikely than doing it the first time), or else you won’t know when to stop, and will probably start lowering the toy again by accident.

First Impressions

Turning the Bestvibe Flirting Magic Wand on for the first time, I was quite impressed with such strong, rumbly vibrations. Whilst it is obviously not the most powerful wand in my collection, it’s certainly more than I expected for a toy of its price. In fact, whilst it is less powerful than both my Honey Play Box Pomi Wand and Magic Wand Mini, being so rumbly makes it closer to the more expensive Mini in feel, which I prefer over a buzzier wand like the Pomi. Although with that, of course, comes a level of noise, and Bestvibe’s claims of a “near-silent” toy unfortunately do not hold up, with the Flirting Magic Wand being quite loud and thus not ideal if privacy is required. Still, it isn’t as loud as the Pomi Wand, which is the mini massager in my toy box that it’s closest to in terms of price.

My Experience

Bestvibe Flirting Magic Wand Handle

I’ve had a lot of fun testing out the Bestvibe Flirting Magic Wand. The range of vibrations is superb, and whilst they aren’t as strong as I may be used to, they are absolutely enough to give me some satisfying orgasms. I haven’t minded the firm head, and any issues I may have had with it are quickly put to rest due to the flexible neck, allowing me to position the toy just how I want it. While it wasn’t quite as pleasurable as the Magic Wand Mini, it was a close call, which is really saying something. Plus, compared to the Honey Play Box Pomi Wand, which came in at Number 9 on my Top 10 Sex Toys last year, I actually preferred its vibrations, which were far more to my taste. But, sadly, it doesn’t matter, because I just cannot get past the Bestvibe Flirting Magic Wand’s terrible controls. This is primarily for the obvious reason I’ve already spoken about, as putting the speeds backwards was never going to be a good idea, yet also because of a secondary issue. With the handle of the Flirting Magic Wand being so overly textured, I find that the buttons get easily lost during use, as if you run your hand over the toy quickly it’s like they become invisible, totally blending into the rest of the silicone.

Cleaning & Care

Being both waterproof and designed for external use only, cleaning the Bestvibe Flirting Magic Wand is easy. Simply wipe it down with some warm soapy water before rinsing and leaving to air dry. After that you can store it how you wish, with the silicone being relatively lint-free. Additionally, make sure to not use silicone-based lubricant with this product, as it may react badly to the silicone it is made of, but if you do then first perform a spot test.

Final Thoughts

The seam running across the Bestvibe Flirting Magic Wand is clearly visible here.

If there was one sex toy I wish every human owned, it would be a wand massager. Why? Because they are universally loved and work for everyone, regardless of gender or body parts. The only downside is usually the price tag, with most full-sized wands looking at setting you back anywhere from $150 AUD / $100 USD to $300 AUD / $200 USD. So, if you can find a cheaper option that still offers much of what makes a massager special, it’s always a big deal. As one of the lowest priced wands I’ve ever tried, the Bestvibe Flirting Magic Wand is exactly that, and while there are certainly some issues with its controls, these seem like something you could overlook for a price tag of just $60 AUD / $40 USD at the time of writing, especially when the vibrations rival that of a Hitachi-name product. Plus, that’s without mentioning the Flirting Magic Wand’s biggest selling point, which is its expansive range of modes that offers 160 possible ways to play, and a must-have for any lover of patterns.

You can get the Flirting Magic Wand directly from Bestvibe for just $62 AUD / $41.54 USD!
