I can’t help but feel like I’ve become a bit of a connoisseur of suction toys over the last six years. While I was on the fence when they were first announced, it was simply love at first try, and since then they have become my favourite type of sex toy to both test and use. Powerful and climatic in a way that words struggle to describe, they are the only type of toy I don’t need to watch porn or do some intense visualisation to orgasm with, and playing with them always requires some tissues and a blanket on hand, for my inevitable watery eyes and need to bite down on something. So while Womanizer and Satisfyer are typically a safe bet when I’m recommending them to people, I’m pretty much always down to try new versions when they’re offered to me, and Bestvibe happens to be the latest brand to do so with their popular Sucking Vibrator.
Product Description
The Bestvibe Sucking Vibrator, or “10 Frequencies Clitoral Sucking Vibrator” as their website calls it, is not to be confused with the Bestvibe Suction Vibrator, or “6 Suction 6 Vibration Beat Clit Vibrators”, that I reviewed at the blog last year. As usual, naming their range of white-label products is not one of Bestvibe’s strengths, but I am hoping that this version of their suction stimulation will be. Of the six products I have tried from the brand at this point, only one has been any good, with the Suction Vibrator being so bad that I was not even able to complete testing after being left in such terrible pain post-use. So going into this review, I am definitely wary and not eager for a repeat of the experience. Despite their similar names, however, the two suction toys are visually quite different, and this combined with its low price tag convinced me to give Bestvibe’s take on suction another shot.
Offering both suction and vibrations, the Bestvibe Sucking Vibrator really lives up to its name. Fitting comfortably in the palm of my hand, its small body features a curved handle at one end and a large suction nozzle at the other. Body-safe silicone covers it entirely, although the only shade it comes in is sadly purple, which is the most overdone sex toy colour in my opinion. Two buttons can then be found on the back, and these are surrounded by some plastic resembling metal, giving it an extra touch of luxury. At the base of the handle you’ll then find a hole for the toy’s USB charging cord, and a secondary hole is located further up the toy’s body, just under the nozzle. This took me by surprise at first since it is not mentioned anywhere, but retailer Peaches & Cream suggested it’s likely a quick-release hole for the suction, to stop the air pressure manually if you need to by covering it. The white portion of the toy is then where both the vibrations and suction is located, with a wide, but otherwise rather flat and shallow, nozzle being intended for placement over the clitoris or nipples.
Packaging
My order with Bestvibe for the Sucking Vibrator was placed on the 13th of April and I finally received it on the 2nd of May, which was quite a wait, even for an international order. Thankfully though the delivery box was at least fully discreet, with no mention of the sender or what was inside. Due to Bestvibe selling primarily white-label products, I then had no idea what to expect from their packaging, receiving past items in all manners of strange containers. The Sucking Vibrator was no different, arriving in a simple and discreet black box with nothing on it except an address in Germany, which I’ve seen pop up quite a few times with these kind of packages. Opening this up, I then found the product restly safely in some foam, alongside a charging cord and instruction manual. Also worth noting is that the Sucking Vibrator was covered in a fair bit of dust when I opened it up, which was quite off-putting, and that the manual names it as the “Fondlove Strong Sucking Vibrating Vibrator”.
Charging
Since the Bestvibe Sucking Vibrator is USB rechargeable, charging it is easy. Simply plug one end into the hole at the bottom of the toy and the other into a USB port. When charging the buttons will light up and flash, and these will then become steady when complete. Charging should take around 2 hours, which will give you around 1 hour of play time. Additionally, when the toy is almost out of battery, the lights will begin flashing to indicate this.
Controls
With independent controls for the Sucking Vibrator’s suction and vibrations, and a separate button for each, controlling this Bestvibe toy is easy. Symbols on the buttons (lips for the suction and a wiggly line for the vibrations) do a good job of indicating which is which, and either may be held down for two seconds to turn the toy on and place it into stand-by mode, as indicated by the toy’s lights turning on. You can then click the button corresponding to the mode you want to activate this, and the motors can be used both together and separately, which is great. Continue clicking the button to cycle through the modes for that motor, and finally, to turn the toy off you can hold down the button again for two seconds, although you’ll have to do this twice if both motors are on. This all functions really well, so it is the modes themselves where the issues begin to arise for me. Whilst the vibrations have a very normal ratio of 3 steady speeds to 7 patterns, the suction has the opposite of normality. That’s right, rather than having just steady speeds, like every well regarded suction toy out there, or even a mix of the two like the Bestvibe Suction Vibrator, the Sucking Vibrator only has suction patterns. This is the first time I’ve experienced this in a suction toy, and as someone who hates patterns, it is incredibly frustrating that Bestvibe’s website omits this information. But more importantly is the reason why brands don’t usually offer patterns with suction toys. You see, being such an intense form of stimulation, letting your clitoris slowly adjust with a range of steady speeds is very important to avoid injury, and the reason why some suction toys have 14 or so intensity settings, something you won’t see with a regular vibrator. But not only is that not possible with this toy, but it means you are exposing your clitoris to the highest setting right from the get-go, which does not bode well.
First Impressions
Realising the Bestvibe Sucking Vibrator only offered suction patterns was a big blow, but things only continued to get worse from there. While this toy does not have the type of tapping plate that’s featured in many white-label suction products, including the Suction Vibrator, which I’ve described as a way for brands to create a similar, yet less effective and potentially dangerous, suction sensation without infringing on any patents, its suction isn’t what I’m familiar with from creators Satisfyer and Womanizer either. Rather than offering a deep chamber, a wall with a small hole in it follows shortly after its nozzle, which is presumably where the air comes through. But while a suction seal can be made, the primary sensation that follows is not one of sucking or pulling, but rather the opposite: blowing. At least, that’s how best I can describe it, because rather than the pattern modes just featuring a variety of suction intensities increasing or decreasing automatically, they are instead focused around an intense air-based tapping sensation. This, like the physical tap suction toys that came before it, worries me greatly, as it is likely going to be too intensive for most. Then, as for the vibrations and noise level, these are similarly bad, with the vibrations being overwhelming buzzy and the noise not just being some of the loudest I’ve ever heard, but occasionally featuring an annoying grinding sound as well depending on how you hold the toy.
My Experience
Between the lack of steady speeds, intensive tapping, and the memory of pain from the last Bestvibe suction toy I tried, testing the Sucking Vibrator was a slow and careful experience, in an attempt to first and foremost ensure the safety of my precious clit. Placing it over myself the first time, I could tell before I even made the seal that it would be too much, and so I desperately searched the patterns for something with less “taps”. The best I could find was one that features them in four second intervals, but even this was incredibly overwhelming and painful, with each tap feeling as if someone had firmly flicked my clitoris, and eventually I had to give up. Sadly, however, I was still sore the next day, although thankfully less so than I was with the Suction Vibrator. For my following tests I had a plan, which was to first use another suction toy, to see if it would still be as overwhelming if I was adequately warmed up. This actually worked a treat, and made the Sucking Vibrator’s taps go from unbearable to mildly frustrating. Plus, it didn’t even leave me feeling sore afterwards (which really proves my point on why it’s important to warm up with this sort of play). Even with this, though, I still found the actual suction in the background too weak, and this combined with the pattern modes just wasn’t for me. Then, while at least the vibrations offer steady speeds, I found them too buzzy to really enjoy. Finally, I must mention the small hole on the front of the toy. While the suction is reduced somewhat when this is covered, ultimately it doesn’t really do much or release the seal on the clitoris. What it does do, however, is blow cold air on you during use, just to really top off the already bad experience.
Cleaning & Care
In multiple areas on the Bestvibe website, the Sucking Vibrator is referred to as waterproof, from the specifications, categories, and this line from its highlighted features: “100% waterproof for bath time”. However, just a few lines down under the cleaning section it reads, “Please don’t submerge it underwater or rinse it. The suction mouth and the charging port are not waterproof.” An almost identical statement then features in the toy’s instructions, which includes a warning to avoid washing it “with running water”. I trust the instructions the most, which means that not only is this toy not waterproof as advertised, but it isn’t even water-resistant! This is a real bummer for a toy in 2022, making cleaning more difficult and meaning that it cannot be used in the bath, for which suction toys are often popular for. As such, to clean it you’ll just need to wipe it down with a wet and soapy cloth, and then leave to air dry. Also remember that since it is silicone, you cannot use silicone based lubricant with it.
Final Thoughts
Sometimes I review toys that leave me wondering whether a human could have possibly tested it before going to market, and the Bestvibe Sucking Vibrator is one of those. It just posed so many questions over the course of my review, like: is it or isn’t it waterproof? What’s up with the random hole at the front? Why is it called a Sucking Vibrator when it spends all its time tapping? And why, oh why, does it only offer patterns when every other brand seems to collectively agree that a range of steady speeds is necessary to literally avoiding injuring people??? The clitoris has over 8,000 nerve endings and is one of the most sensitive parts of the body, so taking it from 0 to 100 with a type of stimulation that is already too intense for a lot of people is just not on, and no one should be expected to use another toy first just to use this one. Then, even without all of this, the vibrations are so weak and the noise level ruins any chances of discretion you could have possibly hoped for. Overall, it goes without saying that I do not recommend this toy, and would probably suggest avoiding Bestvibe’s suction toys altogether at this point.

Okay
Something has gone seriously wrong with the suction of this toy. Rather than offering a variety of intensities, pattern modes featuring repeated harsh bursts of air is all that is present, likely injuring the user.
