Godemiche Grind Ring Bubbles and Pyramids with V-Plate

Earlier this year I took a risk covering a new type of sex toy that could have easily just turned out to be a quick fad. But it paid off in spades, with my Grinder Round-Up not only being my most popular post of the year, but one of the most viewed posts on my blog of all-time, cementing the unique style’s place as the toy of 2022. Since then, the interpretations of what a grinder can be have only continued, and I’ve received multiple offers and requests to review more of them. I was more than happy to oblige, of course, and so you can expect to see a lot more of these rideable and lay-on toys at the blog soon. To kick that off, we have UK small business Godemiche’s version, which just so happens to be one of the first grinders I became aware of, and one that I originally intended to include in the Round-Up. But it looks like it all worked out for the best, because not only have Godemiche sent me two of their Grind Ring, but they’ve thrown in its V-Plate attachment as well!

Product Description

Godemiche’s Grind Ring is a multi-use grinder with some exciting possibilities. Keeping the overall shape simple, it’s really just a 14.8cm / 5.8″ by 10.9cm / 4.3″ thin piece of silicone with the Godemiche logo and a hole at one end, and a wide textured area, which is padded in the centre, at the other. It can then be applied in a variety of different ways to quickly and easily add extra stimulation to whatever you’re already enjoying. For instance, it can be used over a penis, strap-on or insertable toy so that it may rub hands-free against the clitoris, or you can place it over a wand massager to let the vibrations travel through it. For those who prefer riding their grinders, it can then be placed over an insertable toy that is either suction cupped to the floor or being held in place by a sex pillow. And if you don’t have any of that other stuff, you can, of course, just use it alone like a regular grinder. The possibilities are endless really, and that’s not all. In addition to the Grind Ring’s unique shape, Godemiche then offers it in eight different textures, with more being released all the time. Currently, there is Pills, Bumps, Bubbles, Hearts, Waves, Pyramids, Tall Pyramids, and Spikes. They were kind enough to allow me to choose two for review, and so I went with Bubbles and Pyramids, as they looked the most traditional whilst also being very different from each other. Plus, Godemiche allowed me to choose custom colours, and I went with a 2 Colour Marble for each. Using their Instagram for inspiration, I chose Gold Pearl and Sea Witch Blue for the Pyramids based off this image, and Spa Time Barbie and Purple UV for the Bubbles based off this video. Both came out absolutely perfect and 100% what I had in mind, and I couldn’t be happier with them.

In addition to the two Grind Rings, Godemiche were also kind enough to throw in their V-Plate attachment, which I requested to be made in their Blue Pearl silicone to match the Morpheus that was also part of my order. This unusual item is designed specifically to be used alongside their Grind Ring, as a way of providing built-in vibrations to the user. A thin and fairly basic piece of silicone, the Grind Ring is intended to fit snugly on top, with the silicone of the two items sticking together so that they stay connected during use. At the other end you’ll then find space for a bullet vibrator to be inserted, with the Godemiche logo sitting proudly on top. Plus, not only does Godemiche include a compatible vibrator with the V-Plate, but it’s none other than the Rocks Off RO-80mm, which is one of the best battery-powered bullets out there. Waterproof and featuring three steady speeds and four patterns, a LR1 AM5 N Size 1.5V battery is then included, making things even easier.

Packaging

My order for the Grind Ring and V-Plate was placed with Godemiche on the 20th of July. It was then shipped on the 4th of August (although strangely I didn’t get an email confirmation about this till the 11th) and finally arrived to me on the 15th, which I thought was a reasonable timeframe considering every item was a custom order coming from the other side of the globe. The box was then fully discreet, with no mention of the sender or what was inside, which was good to see. Opening this up, I found a cute handwritten note, some promo materials (including a helpful guide on different ways the Grind Ring can be used), British candy, and a pack of adorable miniature versions of their toys, which included a keyring Adam! As for the toys themselves, these were then presented in three separate branded zip-lock bags, which is the sort of no-fuss packaging I am used to from indie makers. Overall, I was very happy with all of this, and these sorts of personal touches are why I love shopping with small businesses. Plus, whilst the zip-lock bags might not be the most stylish, I love how it doesn’t create any unnecessary waste, since you can just keep them to store your toys in.

My Experience

I started my testing in the way that seemed most simple, which was just holding the Grind Ring in my hands to rub against. This is very enjoyable, and I find they catch on my hair less than with other grinders I have tried, making them easier to use. Between the two, I then find the Pyramids my favourite, as the individual spikes are a lot more prominent than the more subtle Bubbles, eliciting greater sensation. Although compared to my current favourite grinder, the Darque Path Grind, I must say that I do find the simple textures of the Grind Ring a little one-note. Next I tried them out as a rideable toy, although I quickly found them far too small for me to be able to use directly on the floor. Instead, they need to be placed on a pillow, and for this I found my Liberator Jaz perfect, with a comfortable but sturdy ridge for me to grind against the toy on. With this, I actually prefer the Bubbles texture, as the small bumps were more pleasant to put so much force against, although once again they both paled a little in comparison to the Darque Path Grind. After this, I moved on to trying them out with my Magic Wand Rechargeable. This was wonderful, with the vibrations still travelling through to my clitoris, but alongside the added stimulation from the Grind Ring. Here, I again prefer the Pyramids, and having the toy actually attached to the massager makes use so much easier, and a vast improvement from every other grinder I’ve tried with it, including the Darque Path Grind (which has more of a subdued effect on the Magic Wand anyway, because of how much thicker it is).

While I had a great time trying out the two Grind Rings alone and with my wand massager, things quickly went downhill when I introduced penetration into the mix while on my back. The thing that attracted me most to these grinders was the fact that they could be attached to a dildo or internal vibrator with a flared base for clitoral stimulation during use. But as soon as I tried it, I was left wondering how exactly it was ever supposed to work. Instead, I’ll attach the Grind Ring and start using the dildo, but all it will do is lay motionless against me, because the other toy just goes through its hole without even touching it. To fix this, I’ve found I must either wrap the silicone ring around the dildo’s base, or alternatively use a thick enough penetrable that the Grind Ring has something to stick to. With this, the grinder is then able to slowly rub against me as I thrust the toy, but something is still not right. When attached to any dildo, the padded textured section of the Grind Ring lays nowhere near my clitoris, so even when the toy is moving, I’m still not getting the stimulation I need. Plus, I require at least some amount of pressure on my clitoris to really enjoy anything there, but other than the silicone’s very light weight, there is none. And yes, whilst I could just hold the Grind Ring down with my hand and stimulate myself that way, it would defeat the whole purpose of its ring. Overall, whilst this wasn’t for me, I did find that short and thick dildos, such as the SquarePegToys Nathan Firmer and Vixen Creations VixSkin Mustang, worked best with it, and that putting the Grind Ring over the base rather than the shaft was the best way to get it on, as it helps avoid getting dust onto the dildo right before use. As for using it this way when riding the toy, I still had issues with the placement of the Grind Ring’s texture, plus since it is so flat it meant I needed to have the dildo I was using fully inserted to reach it, which I found uncomfortable.

[UPDATE: 10/2/23] While I understood the Godemiche Grind Ring to be a sort of “no wrong ideas” toy, it seems I have still managed to pick the incorrect choice, as the brand would like me to note that the toy is not designed for clitoral stimulation on your back if you are alone, only with a partner. Although while I can see how a partner would slightly improve the experience (a body to press the Grind Ring against you), I do feel most of my above notes are still very relevant.

Adding The V-Plate

Godemiche V-Plate

Now we’ve spoken about just the Grind Ring, let’s throw the V-Plate into the mix. First off, you might have noticed from my photos that my V-Plate doesn’t exactly fit the toys. When I originally received it this was not the case, but once I left one of the Grind Rings sitting in it for an extended period of time (maybe a few days to a week?), and when I separated them, the V-Plate’s shape was different and it never recovered. Because of this, I sadly no longer find that the two products can firmly “stick” together as intended, and this was unfortunately prior to me doing any testing. In addition, I had also left the Rocks Off RO-80mm inside the V-Plate, and when I finally managed to get it out, areas of the paint had chipped off. On this note, I do find that perhaps the bullet hole on the V-Plate is a little too tight, because getting the RO-80mm in and out is a nightmare, and easily the most I’ve struggled with a bullet-compatible device. This isn’t helped by the button, which is all-too-easy to press by accident when moving the bullet, and the fact that it occasionally gets twisted in such a way that the battery compartment unscrews a little, turning off the vibrations. Due to this, I find myself more often than not switching to the We-Vibe Tango X, which not only offers stronger vibrations, but avoids a lot of these issues as there is no battery compartment and the buttons are on the side.

Despite all this, I have very much enjoyed the addition of the V-Plate when I am holding or riding the Grind Ring, with the vibrations transferring through nicely to completely amplify the experience. While I do prefer using it with the We-Vibe Tango X, the downside here is that the vibrations are so powerful that they vibrate the V-Plate out of place, but as long as I have a good grip it doesn’t matter too much. The biggest problem then, is the same as when just using the Grind Ring alone, as putting them together with a penetrable just doesn’t really work. Not only is it already difficult, but since the combo is technically upside down (with the Grind Ring against my body and the V-Plate on top of that, rather than under it as intended), the two just cannot seem to stay together, and so I end up with a running V-Plate on top of me that isn’t actually transferring any of its vibrations through to the Grind Ring.

Cleaning & Care

Being fully silicone and waterproof, cleaning the Godemiche Grind Ring, V-Plate, and even the Rocks Off RO-80mm, is easy. Simply place them in some warm soapy water after use, and then rinse and leave to air dry. As none of them are intended for internal use, they shouldn’t be too messy, however if dried fluids are present then you may also want to scrub them down with a spare toothbrush, particularly the textured portions of the Grind Rings. After this you can then return them to their zip-lock bags for storage, keeping the different elements separate, as the silicone does attract a fair bit of lint. Finally, do not use silicone based lubricant with these products, as it may damage the silicone they are made of.

Final Thoughts

Godemiche Grind Ring Bubbles and Pyramids with V-Plate

While I had mixed thoughts about all the different methods available for me to try with the Godemiche Grind Ring, my overall takeaway from this review is a positive one. Unfortunately, the thing I was most excited about using the toy with (my dildos), was also my least favourite way to use it, as not only did the Grind Ring not match my body’s measurements when paired with one, but I found the lack of pressure unstimulating, and even the act of getting it to move at all fairly tricky. However, I have found an unexpected love for it alongside my Magic Wand Rechargeable, with it easily being one of the best wand attachments I’ve ever tried, giving an instant textural upgrade to one of my all-time favourite toys. In this case, it was also far preferred to my current favourite grinder, the Darque Path Grind, as being able to connect the Grind Ring to the massager really made it so much easier. Of course, I also loved using it with the V-Plate in this way, and even though it wasn’t quite as good as just using a massager on my back, it was essential when riding the toy on my Liberator Jaz. Overall, while I can’t quite recommend the Grind Ring or V-Plate for penetrative play (although I have a feeling they may work better with a partner), if you love a bit of texture and are looking to add it to your life, this is still a great option that is not only versatile but quite budget-friendly too.

You can get the Grind Ring directly from Godemiche starting at just $60.99 AUD / $41 USD, plus add on a V-Plate for only $54 AUD / $36 USD!
