Honey Play Box Crave

My inbox is always open. So when a reader recently reached out to me for help finding her dream sex toy, I was more than happy to assist. They were after a wearable toy, similar to a panty vibe like the popular Lovense Lush 2, but rather than vibrations, they wanted something that moved. While thrusters were okay, what they envisioned was something that could “flex like a penis” or use a “come hither” motion to stimulate the G-Spot. Despite not having something like this already reviewed at the blog, I still figured I could find a product suitable enough to recommend, until I realised just how unique an idea it was. I kept looking though, and couldn’t have been more pleased when my very own site sponsor, Honey Play Box, announced their G-Spot Master Collection, and in it was the wearable yet rotating Crave.

Product Description

Not only was I eager to try the Honey Play Box Crave to see if it was a worthwhile buy for my reader, but after realising just how rare this kind of design is (despite seeming like the sort of thing that should be commonplace), I couldn’t resist. With a shape reminiscent of wearable panty vibrators, like the Bestvibe Remote Wearable Vibrator, the Crave features a much longer arm than most, and at 10.5cm / 4″ in internal length I am wondering if this will skip past most people’s G-Spots altogether. Ribbing detail here then provides some needed texture, whilst the toy’s biggest selling point is in its bulbous head, which can spin in a 360 degree circle. A base, which is wider on one side and features detailing which will hopefully rest over the clitoris, then gives the Crave the stability required to become a wearable toy, and this area is also suppose to vibrate (more on this later) to offer dual-stimulation. Completely firm except for the area that rests over the clitoris, the Crave is then waterproof and made of body-safe silicone, although the only colour it comes in is unfortunately a rather unoriginal hot pink. At the bottom of the toy you can then find a white area of silicone featuring a single button and logo, and above this is magnetic plates for the USB charger. In addition, the Crave also comes with a rechargeable two-button remote control, with a use radius of about 10m / 33′, to make adjusting the speeds easy when it is being worn.

The Brand

Before I continue on, I want to take a moment to introduce my site sponsor, Honey Play Box, since it is my first time reviewing one of their products. Based in California, USA, they offer a huge range of sex toys, lingerie, and other adult products. With a philosophy that sex should be driven by each person’s authentic desires, Honey Play Box are on a mission to make pleasure both fun and accessible. This means that rather than stocking the regular big brands, they instead focus on white-label designs, allowing them to keep prices affordable and offer discounts to subscribers. While their team is made up of passionate sex educators who are available to help with any questions you may have, do keep in mind that not all items in their store are body-safe. One year warranties are then provided for all products, whilst billing and worldwide shipping (which is free for orders over $69 USD within the US!) is 100% discreet.

Packaging

Honey Play Box Crave Packaging

My order with Honey Play Box for the Crave was placed on the 9th of April and I finally received it on the 2nd of May, which was quite a wait, even for an international order. The packaging was then 100% discreet, with no mention of who sent it or what was inside. Being my first package from Honey Play Box, I didn’t really know what to expect, although I know from past experience with other white-label sellers that the packaging usually ranges from bad to very bad. So I was pleasantly surprised to find a high-quality and well designed box featuring Honey Play Box’s branding, a picture of the toy, and some information about what it can do. Opening this up, I was then similarly impressed, with the Crave resting safely in foam alongside its remote control, instructions, and charging cord. Overall, I was very happy with all of this, and even better is that the Crave also comes with Honey Play Box’s one year warranty.

Charging

Honey Play Box Crave Charging

Charging the Honey Play Box Crave and its remote control is very easy since they are both USB rechargeable, however the downside is that there is only one cord for the both of them. Simply plug one end of the cord into a USB port, and the other end can then be connected magnetically to either item. Both the Crave itself and remote then feature a light under their buttons that flashes when on charge, and these will remain solid once complete. Charging the Crave should then take around 90 minutes and give you an estimated 60 minutes of play time, however there is no information on the remote’s battery, unless we can presume it’s identical to the toy itself (which I think seems unlikely). Finally, Honey Play Box do recommend charging the toy prior to first use.

Controls

Before I talk about controlling the Honey Play Box Crave, there is something I must address first. While not 100% explicit, the Crave does seem to be portrayed online as a toy that has the ability to rotate its head and offer clitoral vibrations, similar to many dual-stimulators with two motors. This is suggested by the inclusion of a clitoral arm in the design, and a picture on the Honey Play Box website even backs this up, indicating a secondary motor within this external arm that offers vibrations. Furthermore, the product description lists the Crave as being a “G spot and clit vibrator” and offering “a powerful arm massaging your clitoris”. However, unless I’ve somehow missed something, and I’ve tried everything at this point, there are no vibrations in the external arm of this toy, with it only featuring one motor that both rotates and vibrates in the internal arm. Initially I figured I had a faulty model, until I read the reviews on the website. Here, numerous people complain about the lack of advertised clitoral vibrations, and strangely, despite some reviews being completely negative, all rate the product as five stars…

Honey Play Box Crave Controls

With just one button, controlling the Honey Play Box Crave is quite simple (at least, it was after I figured out there were no clitoral vibrations). To turn it on, simply hold the button down for three seconds, until a light comes on to indicate the Crave is in stand-by mode. You can then click this again to cycle through the 9 vibration modes, with three being steady speeds and six being patterns. While this is fairly normal, it’s the first time I’ve seen these intensities applied to a rotating head. For instance, on the steady speeds the rotating simply gets faster, whilst on the patterns it will stop and start accordingly. Finally, to turn it off you can hold the button down again. Using the remote, which is ABS plastic aside from its two silicone buttons, then offers no extra functionality, and to start you’ll need to hold the power button down for three seconds. Although while this initially flashes, there is no confirmation to tell you when it’s actually on or connected to the Crave. After this you can then click the second button, which will begin to control the toy’s nine vibration modes as long as the Crave is already on. Plus, you can hold down the power button on the remote to “pause” and “unpause” the Crave, which just returns it to stand-by mode, however after 20 minutes of being paused it will turn off on its own. Also worth mentioning is that the small piece of silicone that covers the remote’s buttons often falls out, exposing the circuitry underneath.

First Impressions

I definitely wasn’t sure exactly what to expect when turning the Crave on for the first time, with my original concern just being whether I’d be able to control the internal rotations and clitoral vibrations separately. But instead there were no clitoral vibrations! In fact, I’d be hesitant to say there were any vibrations at all. While there are vibes that occur at the same time as the rotations, I suspect they are simply a result of the rotating motor. This is because they are so weak and buzzy that I’d find it hard to believe they are anything more than these residual sensations, and the fact that they stop when I force the head still further confirms this. What they do have going for them though, is the classic sound of vibrations, and by that I mean they are quite loud, although at least this is somewhat lessened in use.

My Experience

Honey Play Box Crave Remote

With the G-Spot widely regarded as being 2.5 to 7.5cm / 1 to 3 inches inside the body, and the Crave being much longer than that, I was immediately unsure as to how it expected to offer any stimulation of the area like its full namesake, “Crave – G-spot Vibrator with Rotating Head”, suggested. It seems I was right in this regard, with its long shaft unsurprisingly sliding right past my G-Spot and ending up in the area closer to my A-Spot. Turning it on though was the real disappointment, with its rotating head barely being felt within me. Plus, of course, there was next to no stimulation of my clitoris, with the only feeling there being the residual “vibrations” from the moving head. Thankfully, though, these three problems can combine together to form a bit of a solution. Moving the toy out of me so that only about half of its shaft is inside, I am able to make enough of a gap over my clitoris to use a clitoral vibrator like the We-Vibe Touch X. This then also positions it closer to my G-Spot (although it is still not an exact match) and allows the rotations to be felt easier, if only ever so slightly. The only downside to this method is that it does mean the handle of the toy can begin rotating rather than the head, as my vagina is essentially holding the head steady, which means I’ll ideally want two hands, one to hold the Crave and another to hold the Touch X. But aside from that, this has become the best way I’ve found to use the Crave, and while it doesn’t contribute much, it’s better than nothing.

As for using the Crave as a wearable toy, things are much the same. Being larger than any other panty vibe I’ve tried, gravity does work against it, and the only way to keep it in is with some tight underwear. The rotations are then not very noticeable, and since there is no room for an additional clit vibe, stimulation is at a minimum. Plus, the high noise level is quite obvious here, and definitely not discreet. The one upside is the remote, which I haven’t had any connection issues with and has been quite effective at controlling the toy from all areas of my apartment.

Cleaning & Care

Cleaning the Honey Play Box Crave is easy since it is made from silicone and is waterproof. Just throw it in some soapy water when you’re done, give it a wash, rinse, and then dry. You can then store it in a zip-lock bag to keep it clean, as the silicone attracts dust. Furthermore, make sure to not use silicone-based lubricant with this product, as it may react badly to the silicone it is made of, but if you do then first perform a spot test.

Final Thoughts

Honey Play Box Crave

I took on the Honey Play Box Crave in order to be able to recommend a rotating wearable toy to a dear reader and anyone else who may be looking for something like this. But unfortunately, in its current state, I do not feel the Crave is up to that level. Even before I actually tried it, there were concerns about its design. It’s intended as a G-Spot toy, but has a shaft unlike any typical G-Spot stimulator, ignoring accepted anatomy. Then, while promoted as a vibrator with dual motors, with one being inside the external arm for clitoral vibrations, there was instead only the rotations, which brings up concerns of false advertising, and is clearly an issue I am not alone in being surprised by, judging by the reviews on their website. Things then didn’t improve in use, with its unsurprising lack of G-Spot or clitoral stimulation meaning I had to use another toy just to have a chance of reaching climax, and even then I could barely feel the rotations inside of me. While there were a few upsides, such as its easy to use remote and low price, these just sadly weren’t enough to justify the rest of my experience, and so I think it’s about time I resume my quest for a quality wearable toy.

Updates

[13/07/22] The day after I published this, Honey Play Box removed the Crave from their website. They wrote to me and said that my review “accurately pointed out the problem of this toy” and that “we have realized the seriousness of the problem is reaching to the extent that we have to change it”. They committed to not putting the Crave “back on the shelf until it is fully functional”, and also said they would offer any customers who were not satisfied with the original Crave a free upgrade once the new version was released. This was great news, and I enthusiastically supported their decision. However, just seven days later I was told the new Crave had been completed and one was being sent my way, which didn’t really seem like enough time to adequately correct the problems. Testing out the new version, I can confirm that outside of updated branding on the packaging and the inclusion of a storage bag, there is absolutely nothing different about this “upgraded version”, as the two products are identical in every way. When I asked Honey Play Box what had happened, they commented, “We’re not satisfied with this result of improvement as well. We’ll ask the factory to continue improving”. While I can empathise, considering they agreed with me on how serious the issues with the Crave are, I am beyond disappointed to see them go back on their word and make this product available for purchase once again.

You can get the Crave directly from Honey Play Box for just $117 AUD / $78.99 USD, plus use my code GRACE15 to get 15% OFF your total order!

  1. Thank you Grace for the great review! It sounds like this category has room to grow and a fair amount yet to learn.

I noticed that Honey Play Box had another similar wearble called the Dolphin. It has a “roller” Motion we’ll call it. rather than a 360

but when you see a “knock off” from China like this
    https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002383532371.html
    you second guess everything.
if this was meant for Anal, perhaps the Crave meant for Anal too… but no… not with that clitoral design.

Again here was one with the Come hither…

But again, look how long it is.

    again… seems too long.

thrusting WITH something i have never seen before.

again, rather long but very intriguing!

Anyhow, thanks again so much for digging into this uncharted category. I hope we can find something that scores better than a fail ;)

    • Hi Paige! I’m glad you found it helpful.

Honey Play Box are a white-label retailer, so the “Dolphin” that appears on AliExpress is the same thing. I’m not sure how anal safe it would be though, so it was probably originally intended just for vaginal play. Like you pointed out though, the length of these toys is one of the strangest factors since they’re all intended for the G-Spot. To be wearable though I suppose a certain level of length is required, otherwise it would likely be unable to stay in when standing.

Honey Play Box are going to send me a new Crave when they have finished updating it, so hopefully it works out better then!

      • Glad to hear they are doing that. They are brand conscious so ultimately the customers will benefit.

I was thinking about the shape and length as well with regard to staying in place. I kind of feel like not matter the design, you’ll need pair of panties anyway. Especially if Motion is used rather than vibration. looking at the last link I shared, they illustrate panties and arrows, so i guess thats what they are saying there.
But to that end, for G-Spot stimulation, the motors, (motion and or vibration) doesn’t need to be at the tip of the shaft. why not half way?
After looking a the links I shared again, I can see one other potential issue with all of them… well with regard to staying in place. the shafts don’t narrow much, similar to the crave…
would you suggest the crave would be better if it narrowed slightly at the base to help keep it in place? with or with out panties?

        PS, here’s a one…. to me.
        https://www.styloholics.com/products/inmi-5x-come-hither-silicone-vibrator-with-remote-control
again… kinda long looking 4.5″ internal
        they have another at 5.5″?
Not that it won’t fit, but to your point, the motion seems it’ll miss the mark no?
this one however might work… if used backwords?
        https://www.styloholics.com/products/inmi-7x-pulse-pro-pulsating-and-clit-stimulating-vibrator-with-remote-control

        • You’ll definitely need underwear for these types of toys, but they’ll still be a lot more comfortable if they have some ability to stay in on their own. I’m not sure narrowing the Crave’s shaft near the base would improve this though, but perhaps a little. And I agree, the motor could definitely be lowered in toys with longer shafts for G-Spot stimulation.

  2. Why would a “team of passionate sex educators” sell not body-safe items? I’ve been curious about some Sohimi products and thought a transparent white label company would be more trustworthy, but that sounds off. Are the materials clearly and accurately listed?

    • The Crave is perfectly body-safe, it just has manufacturing issues that not all Honey Play Box staff would have a say in. And as far as I’ve seen, all materials on their website are accurate. I could flame test the Crave if you want, however everything about it says silicone to me.
