When I first tried the Honey Play Box app for my review of their original OLY, they only had a handful of compatible toys that ran alongside it. So, when the US brand recently got back in touch about reviewing their OLY 2, I was delighted to see that in addition to the app’s new range of features, there were also many more products designed to work with it. Some of these, such as the OLY and JOI, are now in their second or even third generations, and it is one such toy that I’ll be reviewing today. The new RORA 2 is the successor to Honey Play Box’s popular RORA dual-stimulator, which brings 360° rotations to the G-Spot. And whilst I don’t own the original, it seems that, like the OLY 2, the only real changes here are the new app-related features, such as voice control, pressure sensing and temperature detection.

I’m such a fan of Honey Play Box, that when I tried their new app for the first time a few months ago, I was a bit taken aback. The app itself was fine, a little weird to navigate and without any social features, but otherwise it did what it needed to do. Instead, it was the app on Honey Play Box’s website and the instructions included with my OLY that was not fine… because it was completely different! Not only did the two apps look nothing alike, but many of the advertised features simply didn’t exist on the real thing, causing concerns of false advertising. Of course I let Honey Play Box know my worries, and they quickly got to work updating their website to match the current version. But by then I had finished my testing, and never got the chance to revisit it. Until today, that is, for my review of the Honey Play Box OLY 2!

This year I’ve already reviewed more app compatible sex toys than ever before, and we still have three months to go! Although as technology continues to become a vital part of our everyday lives, I suppose this is only to be expected. Until now I have included detailed guides on all apps I come across within my usual product reviews. But that isn’t working anymore. Firstly, the in-depth way I write my reviews doesn’t translate all that well to apps. Plus, since apps get updates that completely erase previous versions, there’s no point in having 500 words in a review from two years ago on an app that’s since been overhauled, even if the toy itself is still popular. I’ve already tested a handful of app-controlled toys in 2023, but so far none of them have offered the convenience that makes me want to keep using the app in my spare time. Since I’m mostly using toys solo, the best way to incorporate apps into my routine is during extended wear, rather than bedside play. This is what I had hoped for with my recent review of the We-Vibe Ditto+, but with glitches getting in the way of any enjoyment, I was instead left feeling unfilled. That’s when my long-time sponsor Honey Play Box stepped in, who recently released a sex toy app of their own, complete with long-distance control. Debuting alongside it are six compatible toys, including an upgraded thrusting version of the popular Joi that I reviewed a few months ago, however I only had eyes for the OLY, a wearable panty vibrator that I knew would perfectly fill the hole that the Ditto+ had left… or, should I say, the other hole!

After exclusively reviewing wand massagers for the last few weeks, I figured it was time to switch things up for this week’s review. And what better way to do that than with an entirely new style of sex toy? That’s right, much like the Honey Play Box Scioness, my next review for this exciting US brand is also on a product type I am wholly unfamiliar with, something that can often prove a challenge after collecting sex toys for almost ten years. The Fiona Plus is what is usually called a double-ended egg vibrator, although in this case the last part of that is retracted, as this toy doesn’t actually feature any vibrations. Rather, it combines two popular styles of stimulation into one, with a licking rose-style toy at one end, and a accordian-style thruster at the other.

If you’ve spent much time in sex toy land over the last few years, you’ve no doubt heard of the Fantasy For Her. This unique product that melded licking, sucking, and vibrating into one for the first time went viral, and has remained one of the best-selling toys on the market ever since. Despite my obvious interest, however, I have declined any request to review it, due to it being manufactured by one of the most unethical brands in the industry, Pipedream. If you aren’t aware of their racist, fatphobic, transphobic, and just generally shitty nature, I’d recommend checking out Miss Ruby Review’s post on it, but the point is: I do not review their products, no matter how popular. Yet when I saw that my blog sponsor, Honey Play Box, had released their own version of what the Fantasy For Her offered, I knew my chance to see what all the fuss was about had finally come.
