This year I’ve already reviewed more app compatible sex toys than ever before, and we still have three months to go! Although as technology continues to become a vital part of our everyday lives, I suppose this is only to be expected. Until now I have included detailed guides on all apps I come across within my usual product reviews. But that isn’t working anymore. Firstly, the in-depth way I write my reviews doesn’t translate all that well to apps. Plus, since apps get updates that completely erase previous versions, there’s no point in having 500 words in a review from two years ago on an app that’s since been overhauled, even if the toy itself is still popular. I’ve been writing about sex toys for over eight years now, yet I’ve surprisingly only reviewed six thrusters, with two of those being this year. I suppose two isn’t really enough to declare that 2023 is the “year of the thruster”, but because I don’t try them very often, it feels like it is to me. Plus, I have a lot more on the way, starting with today’s review on the Lovense Gravity. An accordian-style thruster (of which I have two others, whilst the rest are split between magnetic-style and stretch-style), Lovense have added their usual high-tech touch to the product, making this innovative toy quite unlike any of the other handheld sex machines I’ve tried. Offering vibrations alongside the thrusting, it is also compatible with the Chinese brand’s comprehensive range of apps for greater control over both bluetooth and wifi. Making this not only an exciting thruster for solo use, but the perfect option for those in long-distance relationships or online sex work.

After such a long year, it seemed only right I started 2021 off with one of my most anticipated reviews. In fact, not only has this particular item garnered a lot of attention since I announced I was testing it, but it has also been one of my most requested toys for years now. The Lovense Lush 2 was sent to me by the wonderful folks over at JOUJOU, and was the hotly awaited follow-up to the legendary Lush vibrator. But even though this upgrade came out all the way back in 2018, it remains one of the most popular sex toys out there. Why? Well, even if you don’t know anything about sex toys, chances are you’ve seen this one before, because it is absolutely massive in the cam performers community. Visit any cam site and you’ll immediately see it featured on the streams of countless performers (just look out for the little pink string), as they all take advantage of the product’s integrated room features and token-based vibrations. But while it’s obvious that Lovense have made their toy almost a necessity for streamers, what I’m left wondering is whether it’s actually worth it for the rest of us.
