After such a long year, it seemed only right I started 2021 off with one of my most anticipated reviews. In fact, not only has this particular item garnered a lot of attention since I announced I was testing it, but it has also been one of my most requested toys for years now. The Lovense Lush 2 was sent to me by the wonderful folks over at JOUJOU, and was the hotly awaited follow-up to the legendary Lush vibrator. But even though this upgrade came out all the way back in 2018, it remains one of the most popular sex toys out there. Why? Well, even if you don’t know anything about sex toys, chances are you’ve seen this one before, because it is absolutely massive in the cam performers community. Visit any cam site and you’ll immediately see it featured on the streams of countless performers (just look out for the little pink string), as they all take advantage of the product’s integrated room features and token-based vibrations. But while it’s obvious that Lovense have made their toy almost a necessity for streamers, what I’m left wondering is whether it’s actually worth it for the rest of us.
The Brand
I’ve spoken about teledildonics many times at the blog, and Lovense are one of the companies firmly leading the charge for it. Established in Hong Kong in 2009 when the founder was in a long-distance relationship and looking for ways to remain intimate with his partner, wireless control is at the centre of the Lovense brand. But while they excel at this, it is really the company’s relationship with the online sex work community where they have made a name for themselves. Lovense’s products don’t just work well with camming, like other toys from other brands might, but are designed specifically for it. In fact, they offer an entire downloadable program for free at their website that’s dedicated to allowing their products to be integrated with all major cam sites. Through this you can then access a massive range of features, from tip-based vibrations (which they also hold the patent for), to chat room notifications, personalised games, and live control. Since I am no longer a cam girl, however, I won’t be reviewing these aspects of the toy today, and instead will be looking at it from a non-sex work perspective. Then, while the Lush 2 is currently their flagship product, they also have many other vibrators, such as wands and rabbits, and even a masturbator.
Product Description
The Lovense Lush 2, if we take away all its fancy tech for a moment, is a very simple example of an internal vaginal vibrator, which is most commonly referred to as a love egg. The larger vibrating end is intended to be placed inside of you, which may or may not stimulate your G-Spot depending on your anatomy, whilst the flexible tail hangs outside so that you may control the toy using the button on the end of it. Now, full disclaimer, I’m not the biggest fan of these types of toys. Out of the two similar products that I’ve tried (being the OVO R1 and ZALO Amorette), I liked neither, though it was less the products fault and more that I just don’t think they work for my body. Clearly this is not the case for everyone, but when I place a vibrator inside of me, unless it has some kind of movement or is up against my G-Spot, I can barely feel anything. But two attempts isn’t exactly enough to write off a whole category of toy, and so after reading about the product’s motor, which is apparently “4x more powerful than most love eggs”, I felt that if any toy could make me enjoy stationary internal vibrators, it would be the Lush 2. Then, in regards to its features, it is compatible with the Lovense app, and also offers everything you’d expect from a good-quality sex toy, such as being fully coated in body-safe silicone, waterproof, and USB rechargeable. Finally, it isn’t anal safe and only comes in pink (a big downside, although it certainly makes it stand-out on cam sites, smart!).
Packaging
My order for the Lovense Lush 2 was placed with JOUJOU on the 12th of November and I promptly received it on the 17th. As usual the box was completely discreet, with no mention of the sender or contents. The packaging for the Lush 2 itself is then quite simple, being just a regular cardboard box featuring pictures and information on the toy. The top of the box can then be lifted off, and this reveals the toy inside resting securely in foam, alongside its instruction manuals (a quick set-up guide and full instruction booklet) and a charging cord in a smaller branded box next to it. Overall this is all fine and is low waste, but considering the product’s luxury price tag I was definitely expecting something a little nicer, and at the very least the inclusion of a storage bag. In addition the Lush 2 also comes with a one year warranty.
Charging
Charging the Lovense Lush 2 is easy since it is USB rechargeable. Just plug one end of the charging cord into the hole on the toy and the other end into a USB port. When charging a light on the toy should turn on, and when done it will turn off. Charging should then take 70 minutes, and this should give you around 190 minutes of playtime.
Controls
In addition to its comprehensive app control, the Lovense Lush 2 also features a single button at the end of its tail which can be used for limited control of the toy. To turn it on first hold down the button for 3 seconds, which will place the toy into stand-by mode as indicated by it vibrating once quickly and the light flashing. You can then continue clicking the button to cycle through the product’s 7 default vibration modes, three of which are steady seeds and four of which are patterns, before returning to stand-by mode. Then, to turn the toy off you can hold down the button for three seconds again. Finally, at full charge the toy can stay in stand-by mode for up to 120 hours, which will come in handy if you’re wearing this out and want the option to toggle the vibrators on and off with your phone.
The App
For the full range of control options for the Lush 2 you can use the Lovense Remote app on most smart phones, as well as Apple Watch and desktop computers (Windows will need an adaptor). You can find all my thoughts on this, as well as a look at its key features and issues I encountered, at my sex toy app review round-up.
First Impressions
Lovense make a big deal on their website about how powerful yet quiet the Lush 2’s motor is, so I definitely had high expectations in this regard, and I have to say I wasn’t disappointed, because this has some genuinely great vibrations within its little body. While they aren’t the strongest I’ve ever felt, they are certainly great for its size, and, most importantly, very rumbly. Then, as for the noise level, I was also impressed, with the toy being quiet enough to make its use quite discreet, even when outside of your body.
My Experience
Despite the somewhat large size of 3.8 cm / 1.5 inches in diameter, the Lush 2 does insert fairly easily with the help of its tapered shape and some lubricant. The tail works almost like a handle, allowing you to push or pull the toy around until you find a position that suits you. You can then turn on the vibrations, and my preferred way to control them has been to either use the button on the toy itself, or, if I want something a little more, the steady speed dial in the app. But whilst the vibrations are strong, I’m afraid that without them actually being able to stimulate any of my pleasure points, they don’t really do anything for me. To combat this, my favourite way to use the Lush 2 has been to pull the cord towards me as much as possible so that it is close to my G-Spot (which is a bit of a challenge when also trying to keep it of inside me), and then use a clitoral vibrator, such as the Dame Kip, to do the rest. This allows the Lush 2 to contribute and gives me a greater orgasm, although when considering its high price tag it’s still sadly not worth it. In addition to its intended use, I did also try it just as a clitoral vibrator, and I felt this worked far more successfully for me. Its powerful and rumbly motor really lends itself to this type of stimulation, and if it wasn’t for the difficulty of pressing its button when using it in this way then it’d be perfect for it.
While it’s clear that the Lush 2 didn’t really work for me during solo masturbation, I was still excited to give it a go during long-term remote wear. One major issue that almost always arises when using internal panty vibes is that they fall out, and to combat this you usually need to walk very slowly, but upon placing the Lush 2 inside of me and going about my day it quickly became obvious that due to its large size it was going to stay in, which was an immediate win. Next I found that because gravity was pulling the toy as close to my entrance as possible, it was also pushing it towards my G-Spot. This meant that while standing the vibrations are not only able to stimulate my G-Spot somewhat, but can also reach my clitoris, which was something I was not expecting and actually made the toy slightly more pleasurable then when on my back. This is then only improved upon when sitting, as the added pressure further heightens the sensation, and you can even lean forwards slightly or press down on the chair (this works best with hard chairs) to effectively grind against the toy. Due to this I’ve got to say that sitting with this toy inside me is absolutely my favourite way to use it, which is the first time I’ve experienced anything like this and I am 100% here for it. Then, in regards to discretion, the noise level is great during use, reducing an already low-volume toy even more so. While it does still make a noise, it is low enough that I think in most public places, including restaurants, it would not be heard at all, even at the highest setting. In fact, the only downside to wearing this toy may be the length of the tail, which sticks out enough to be visible, and so I’d recommend wearing either loose pants or a skirt when using this toy, and trying to angle it to rest as close to your leg as possible. Alternatively, if you do want to wear tight pants then you can hide it completely by placing the tail between your cheeks, however this will be less comfortable, particularly when sitting.
Cleaning & Care
Since the Lovense Lush 2 is made from silicone and is waterproof, cleaning it is easy. Just wash it down with some soapy water, rinse it, and then leave to air dry. After this you can return it to a zip-lock bag to keep it sanitary. Additionally, make sure to not use silicone-based lubricant with this product, as it may react badly to the silicone it is made of, but if you do then first perform a spot test.
Final Thoughts
Historically love eggs and I haven’t meshed, but I really wanted to like the Lovense Lush 2. It’s immediately clear if you hop on any cam site that this is a well-loved toy, and so giving it a bad review feels a little off. But at the end of the day this is a review based on my experience with it, and this wasn’t great. While most of its intended uses didn’t work for me however, I can’t deny its powerful motor and excellent shape, and so I can definitely see how someone could love this toy. Plus, using it on my clitoris and when sitting were both immensely enjoyable, so it wasn’t all bad. Perhaps the worst part of the Lush 2 was its app, as while all of the Close Range features worked well, the Long Distance (which is one of the product’s main selling points) was so immensely glitchy that it was effectively unusable. Thankfully though the update log of Lovense Remote is full of recent changes and bug fixes, so this is clearly something they are working on and things will hopefully improve soon. In the meantime though, while I unfortunately can’t recommend this to those in long-distance relationships at this point, I do think it would make the perfect toy for those who enjoy internal vibrations or remote-control egg vibrators, especially if you’re looking to keep things discreet.
Updates
[10/10/23] As I had hoped, the Lovense Remote app did improve! It’s now my favourite sex toy app, easily being the most advanced on the market, and no longer are there any issues with the long distance control.

Great
A good toy for those who want discreet app-controlled internal panty vibes, but not much else.

Hi
Designed primarily for couples and camgirls, the Lush 3 is regarded as one of the best remote control vibrators and is a great way to experiment with kinks like public play and orgasm denial. Failing that, you can just use it for some good old-fashioned solo bedroom fun. It’s a high-tech sex toy.
