Honey Play Box Scioness

If you’ve spent much time in sex toy land over the last few years, you’ve no doubt heard of the Fantasy For Her. This unique product that melded licking, sucking, and vibrating into one for the first time went viral, and has remained one of the best-selling toys on the market ever since. Despite my obvious interest, however, I have declined any request to review it, due to it being manufactured by one of the most unethical brands in the industry, Pipedream. If you aren’t aware of their racist, fatphobic, transphobic, and just generally shitty nature, I’d recommend checking out Miss Ruby Review’s post on it, but the point is: I do not review their products, no matter how popular. Yet when I saw that my blog sponsor, Honey Play Box, had released their own version of what the Fantasy For Her offered, I knew my chance to see what all the fuss was about had finally come.

Product Description

The Honey Play Box Scioness has two main functions: sucking and licking. The licking, or flicking stimulation as I usually call it, is mechanised, so rather than just residual vibrations making it move, the tongue actually has electronics inside of it that allow it to quickly flick back and forth. The suction is then quite unlike the type we typically talk about here, as rather than a small chamber designed to fit over the clitoris to provide air pressure waves as popularised by brands like Womanizer and Satisfyer, it instead works like a pump, with a large chamber to fit over most of the vulva. Being a cheaper toy than the Fantasy For Her, vibrations are then not included, nor is an alternative suction chamber, as the Scioness’s 5.5cm / 2.2″ by 6.8cm / 2.7″ offering is not removable. Whilst being fairly short in length at just 17cm / 6.5″, this toy is quite wide, making it a little difficult to hold, although a diamond pattern on the front does help with grip. The rest of the toy is then covered in a silky smooth body-safe silicone, with the exceptions being a strip of reflective plastic at the top of the handle and the clear plastic suction chamber (although a soft piece of removable silicone fits on the end of this). Available in just two colours, Green and Wine Purple (which I think looks more pink than purple), I received the latter, although it’s obviously the least interesting of the two. Dual buttons then rest at the front of the toy just below the Honey Play Box logo, whilst on the back you can find the magnetic charging plates. Three small holes are also present on the handle, with one above the charging plates and two at the very bottom of the handle, allowing air to escape during use, whilst two are inside the chamber to pump out the air from within. Finally, the Scioness is also USB rechargeable and water resistant, and the only immediate downside is that the silicone feels a little loose, which can be a little annoying when handling.

Packaging

Honey Play Box Scioness Packaging

My order for the Scioness was placed with Honey Play Box on the 24th of February, although as with past orders it took some time to arrive, finally turning up on the 15th of March. Another recurring problem has been with discretion, and once again I felt let down in this regard, with the items inside being listed as a “mini personal healthy massager” on the box. As for the packaging of the toy itself, this was then exactly the same as past products from the brand, just with a picture of the Scioness and information on it instead. A high-quality cardboard box with a beautiful gradient design, I’m always very happy to see this from Honey Play Box and I appreciate the consistency. Inside you’ll then find the toy resting safely in foam, alongside its charging cord and instruction manual, which are also in the same style as their previous products. Finally, the Scioness also comes with Honey Play Box’s one year warranty.

Charging

This hole acts as a vent, so you’ll feel the air releasing here when the suction is turned on.

With the Honey Play Box Scioness being USB rechargeable, charging it is easy. Simply plug one end of the cord into a USB port and the other end can connect to the magnetic plates on the back of the toy. While this connection is fairly stable, occasionally the cord can come loose from the magnets, so ensure it is fitted properly before leaving it. Once on charge it should then take around 90 minutes to provide 30 to 50 minutes of use, with a light flashing on the toy during and becoming solid upon the battery being full.

Controls

Dual buttons control the two functions of the Honey Play Box Scioness, with fairly self-explanatory symbols being used to indicate which is which. With this in mind, the top button controls the suction, with its wind symbol, and the lower button controls the tongue, with its zig-zag symbol. While they then work independently, you will need to use the lower tongue button as a power button, as holding this down will turn the toy on and off. Once on, the Scioness will enter a stand-by mode, as indicated by the buttons lighting up, and you can then continue to click either button to use the functions separately or together. The suction mode has three intensity levels whilst the tongue has nine (three being steady speeds and six being patterns), and the Scioness will then return to stand-by mode when the cycle is complete. Additionally, whilst it’s not mentioned in the instructions, if you hold the suction button down whilst the toy is on, it will pump until the button is let go, and no release of air will occur during this mode.

First Impressions

The Scioness’s mechanised licking is a trend I’ve been seeing more and more of lately, and brings to mind my reviews of the Honey Play Box Joi and Funzze Flower Tongue, however its tongue is much larger than any before it. Additionally, the closest I’ve come to trying this mixed with a pump function was during my testing of the Bestvibe Beinlove Tongue Rabbit, but that review went so terribly that I can hardly say I got to experience it. So, in this sense, the Scioness feels like an entirely new genre of toy for me. Turning the suction on, I like how it pumps for approximately one second, releases, and then continues. This allows it to maintain a certain level of suction, rather than continuing to suck and potentially causing damage (although if this is what you want, that’s what holding the button down is for). Placing it on my skin, it works well, and whilst the spot might feel a little strange and red for a short time afterwards, there is no pain or long term effects (already making it better than the Beinlove). As for the tongue, this also functions nicely, but I will say that because it is so large, it is a little slow, even at its highest speed. Finally, in regards to noise level, this is the toy’s biggest downside, as the Scioness is very loud, and surprisingly it is the tongue that is the worst of the two. This means that not only is privacy out the window, but even solo or partnered use is a little awkward, with the noise kind of sounding like someone saying “nom nom nom” over and over (this sounds like a bad joke, but I’m deadly serious).

My Experience

Honey Play Box Scioness Suction Chamber and Tongue

First off, unless I have a Guinness World Records-worthy oversized vulva, Honey Play Box’s promise that the Scioness will “engulf your entire vulva” is not true, as the suction chamber only just manages to cover the top of my labia minora and clitoris. Positioning it so that a seal can be made is then a little tricky (this would likely be easier if you were clean shaven), although after some practice I’ve gotten pretty good at knowing where to rest it. Turning the tongue’s licking function on, this is then just able to reach my clitoris, and whilst it does feel good, the distance results in a more teasing sensation, making it difficult to use on its own. Thankfully that is what the suction is for, and activating this is seriously something else. On its own, while the feeling of being pulled is strong, it isn’t pleasurable (at least to me, I’m sure many people would disagree since it is still affecting the genitals). But once the tongue is turned on too, they work together to create the most amazing sensation. Essentially, the suction pumps up my clitoris so that it is closer to the tongue, and this is then able to go to town on me in a way I find immensely pleasurable and stimulating, and the closest to the sensation of oral sex that I’ve experienced from a sex toy. Plus, while it’s not quite as good as a regular air pressure wave toy, I could see it becoming one with regular use, as at this point the feeling is so unlike anything else I’ve tried that I’m simply not accustomed to it. The only downsides are that I wish the tongue could go faster, and because the suction releases every second, it reminds me of a pattern mode which I dislike (something not limited to sex toys, I hate any kind of ticking noise or repeated action, although I understand why it’s necessary here), so when nearing climax I tend to hold the suction button down, which has the added benefit of heightening the sensation. Additionally, every now and then the suction chamber can fill up with too much of my vulva, making the tongue unable to continue, but this is an easy fix by just repositioning it.

Cleaning & Care

I’m not a fan of any sex toy that isn’t waterproof these days, but the Honey Play Box Scioness is at least intended for external use only, making it not so bad. It does get quite messy though, especially on the clear plastic as so much gets pressed up against this, and since you can’t soak it, I’d suggest giving it a quick wash with some warm water and soap immediately after use. You can then rinse it (since it is at least water-resistant) and leave to air dry. You might also want to activate the suction to get out any water that’s still inside the toy, and I’d recommend doing so before use, to avoid your vulva getting covered in cold water like mine did. Additionally, make sure to not use any silicone-based lubricants with this toy, as it may damage the material it is made of.

Final Thoughts

Honey Play Box Scioness Suction Chamber and Tongue

It has been a long time since I felt like I tried an entirely new type of sex toy. There’s certainly been innovations over the years, such as the Snail Vibe and the Banana Pants Bumpher, but at the end of the day the sensations those toys offered were still the same as usual, they just created different methods for getting there. The Honey Play Box Scioness, however, makes me think more along the lines of when I tried air pressure wave toys for the first time. The feeling it creates is so widely different to anything else I’ve experienced before that for once I can’t compare it to another product, something I usually do in this section of a review. But what I do know is that it feels damn good, and if you’re a fan of oral sex and are looking to recreate it, this is for you. I’d also suggest this product for lovers of all types of tongue and flicking stimulation toys, as it essentially offers this on steroids. Overall, this is absolutely a toy I will be going back to, and a style I hope to try more of soon!
