Monster Pub MOOMA

Even though my last review of a Monster Pub product was all the way back in 2020, they have remained on my mind and on my blog as one of my sponsors for much of the last three years, and it has been exciting to watch their unique collection of toys grow. This is because, unlike other sex toy manufacturers, Monster Pub makes use of characters with different personalities and appearances for their toys, as a way to combat stigma around adult products by reminding us that they really are just toys. When purchasing any of their core catalogue, you can select between their Master Gokilla, Doctor Whale and Mister Devil, and your choice will not only affect the colour your product comes in, but slight visual and textural adjustments will also change the way you’re stimulated. Recently, however, there has been a new addition to the family, and I’m excited for you all to finally meet MOOMA today!

Product Description

The Monster Pub MOOMA is by far the brand’s most adorable and characterised toy so far, and unlike the rest of their monsters, the MOOMA is its own product, rather than just a selectable skin. I’ve posted about it a few times at my socials, always to great interest, and so when Monster Pub asked if I would like to review it, I was all in. Absolutely charming and clearly inspired by elephants, the MOOMA’s internal shaft is shaped like a trunk, with circular textures at the tip, whilst large ears work to provide clitoral stimulation. The handle then features the body of the elephant, complete with little legs, winking eyes, a tail (which is actually the charging port), and tusks. Plus, it even comes with a removable metal earring and Monster Pub’s signature heart on its chest. The brand has done well to make this look cute, rather than creepy, and it achieves this so perfectly that the toy is also very discreet, as if you placed it on a shelf I highly doubt anyone would guess as to its real nature. As for what it can do, the MOOMA is a dual-stimulator, with motors for vibrations in both the shaft and ears. It can then also rotate the top third of its trunk 360 degrees, and offers a heating function to top it all off. Dual buttons and the Monster Pub logo are located under its flat base, which allows it to stand upright, whilst a somewhat prominent seam wraps around it, which is its only downside visually. The MOOMA is then only available in a beautiful lavender colour and is fully covered in a smooth body-safe silicone (which is soft on some areas of the toy, such as the shaft’s tip, but firm over others), as well as being waterproof, USB rechargeable, and anal-safe, although it is not intended for this kind of play.

My order for the MOOMA was placed with Monster Pub on the 1st of February and I received it on the 17th. The package was then 100% discreet, with no mention of what was inside or who sent it. Now, while Monster Pub has always had a great graphic design team, nothing could have quite prepared me for the MOOMA’s packaging. Firstly, the box is giving full cereal / magazine cover vibes, and looks like the sort of thing you’d find in a pop culture store rather than sex toy shop. Made of high-quality card, it features a cute drawing of the MOOMA on the front, as well as a few small notes on what it can do. You’ll then find a hygienic seal at the top, which’ll need to be broken before accessing the contents, and inside are three sealed bags, which are numbered and state their contents on the front. The toy, along with its attachable earring, charger and a cute character card of the MOOMA, can be found in bag 2, whilst bag 3 contains a instruction booklet (this is in a range of languages and also features information on how to locate the G-Spot), a warranty information sheet (this is entirely in Chinese, but it’s for one year) and a storage bag (this is nice, although it’s made with the same material as a shower curtain, which is a little strange). Finally, there is the mysterious bag 1, the contents of which I was not expecting. Alongside a sticker sheet featuring the Monster Pub characters, there are also two pieces of cardboard which can be folded together to form a stage on which you may display the MOOMA. Effectively creating the image from the front of the packaging, it places the MOOMA inside a little cardboard box, which states “Caution: Monster Inside”, whilst the artwork is displayed behind it. There’s even a gap for the MOOMA’s charger to fit through whilst it sits on the stage, whilst on the back is an introduction to the character! Overall I am so pleased with all of this, as it went above and beyond what I expected to receive, and I have had my MOOMA sitting in its display stand ever since.

Charging

Monster Pub MOOMA Charging

Since the Monster Pub MOOMA is USB rechargeable, charging it is easy. Simply plug one end of the cord into a USB port, and then the other end into the charging hole on the toy, which doubles as the MOOMA’s tail and also features a small lightning bolt symbol above it. When initially placed on charge from a flat battery the light on the toy will be dim to indicate this, and after twenty minutes this will change to a flashing light. When charging is complete (unfortunately Monster Pub provides no information about how long this should take), the light will then become solid, and this should give you around 90 minutes of use. In addition, they also recommend charging the MOOMA before first use.

Controls

Monster Pub MOOMA Controls

The MOOMA has two buttons on its base, however one of them is only for controlling its heating function, which I’ll cover in the next section. This means that all three of the MOOMA’s motors (vibrations in the shaft and ears, along with the rotations) are controlled with just one button, which was worrying. To turn the toy on, first hold the button down for two seconds, which will place the toy in stand-by mode as indicated by the light turning on and a haptic response. You can then press the button again to cycle through the MOOMA’s 8 modes, before holding it down again for another two seconds to turn it back off. The modes start with no rotations but a low frequency vibration in both motors, and then after that there is the same vibrations with rotations, a high frequency vibration in both motors with faster rotations, and then it’s on to five pattern modes. This means that there are only really two speeds for those who aren’t interested in patterns, and that none of the three elements can be used independently, which is all quite frustrating for a multi-use toy like this.

Heating

You can turn the MOOMA’s self-heating function on and off by holding down the button with a flame on it for two seconds. This is best done in anticipation of a session, since the MOOMA can take a couple of minutes to warm up, and when complete it will reach a temperature of 42°C / 107.6°F. However, this only affects the top of the toy’s shaft, and because of how hot it can get, it can feel a little strange during use, and sometimes even uncomfortable. I do believe an all-over warm temperature, rather than an intense heat in one spot, would probably prove more effective.

First Impressions

While the MOOMA is undeniably cute, I was unsure whether it would actually feel good in use, especially since I had so many issues with the Monster Pub Master Gokilla 2 Premium, which also happened to only have two vibration speeds. Turning it on for the first time, I was a little disappointed in the vibrations, which are fairly weak and do not change much between their two levels. Although on the upside, the rotations work very nicely, giving a full 360 degree spin. As for the MOOMA’s noise levels, while it certainly isn’t whisper-quiet, it’s a lot quieter than other rotation-style toys, and even more so when inserted for use, so discreet use is possible.

My Experience

Since the Monster Pub MOOMA’s shaft is so thin, inserting it is no issue. Although the shape obviously feels a little strange at first, not being the typical tapered style, but this soon stops being noticeable. Unfortunately, I quickly found that the lack of any curve means the MOOMA cannot reach my G-Spot, and to make matters worse, the ears do not sit comfortably over my clitoris either. Whilst I cannot do anything about the former, though, I am able to position it in a way that improves the clitoral contact (in return for some strain on my wrist), which is the most important area of stimulation for me anyway. Turning it on, the rotations are the most prominent element, being significantly stronger than other rotating sex toys I have tried. I can really feel the shaft moving around inside of me in a way similar products just haven’t achieved, and while I found the feeling quite uncomfortable at first, I eventually grew accustomed to it. How much I enjoyed it, however, is another matter, as I still don’t really see the point, which probably isn’t helped by the fact that it’s nowhere near my G-Spot. Despite all this, with the rotations and vibrations running and the ears pressed up against my clitoris, I am still able to enjoy the MOOMA, and this alone with some thrusting can give me some very pleasurable orgasms.

Cleaning & Care

Cleaning the Monster Pub MOOMA is easy since it is made from silicone and fully waterproof. Just throw it in some warm soapy water when you’re done, give it a wash, rinse, and then dry. You might also want to give textured areas, such as the top of the shaft and the eyes, an extra clean with a spare toothbrush, as bacteria may hide there. You can then store it in the bag it came with. Additionally, make sure to not use silicone-based lubricant with this product, as it may react badly to the silicone it is made of.

Final Thoughts

Even though it’s been years since my last, and only other, Monster Pub review, it’s strange how much my thoughts on the MOOMA echo it. An inability to reach my G-Spot, difficulties with clitoral contact, and frustrations with a weak two-speed vibration motor were all things I wrote about back in 2020, and now again today. Thankfully, however, that is mostly where my complaints end, as unlike the Master Gokilla 2 Premium, which I hated entirely, the MOOMA has its positives. First off, it is adorable, and for those purchasing with this in mind, you won’t be disappointed, with the packaging and display stand only further highlighting this. Plus, its appearance also works to make it discreet, and with a relatively low noise level too, this is a toy that will work well for those who need to maintain some privacy. Finally, despite my in-use issues, I still found the toy pleasurable enough to have some fast and satisfying orgasms with, and it’s very likely that most other users will not experience the same anatomy incompatibilities as me (since my G-Spot tends to be further back than most). Overall, whilst this is still an expensive toy for something that isn’t perfect, if you are content with that considering you’re also getting one of the most visually unique products on the market, then I wish you and the MOOMA all the best!

You can get the MOOMA directly from Monster Pub for just $229 AUD / $152 USD!

  1. Thank you again for the great Review!
It seems that no one can really nail down the motion toys I am looking for.
I am very happy to see Monster taking a stab at this. They really are the best looking fun and cute toys. Like you say, you could put this on the dresser and no one would be the wiser.

I recall your last review of the Crave. I had a look and felt they too could use some work. Looking again today, I see that Honey has updated their site to something I’d feel more confident buying from. They also have a Crave 2 and 3 now as well. And another product called Dolphin that looks like a potential wearable.
