Review: Deeper Blue Ceramics Lilac Matte

Deeper Blue Ceramics Lilac Matte

It was at a sex convention that I first fell in love with adult products all those years ago, but while so much has changed in this industry since then, it seems conventions, sadly, have not. Walking into a sex con, such as Sexpo, today, looks much like it did seven years ago, and if anything things have gone backwards. With the vast majority of products being non-body-safe, barely any representation from quality brands or retailers, and questionable guest stars, I find myself struggling more and more each year to attend. But the thing that keeps me going is the thought of finding a diamond in the rough, and by that I mean the opportunity to scout out new local businesses that I might not have found out about otherwise, and then share them with you all. In previous years this has led me to finds such as the MiaMaxx Hand-Held Thruster and Cloudnine Hummingbird, and it’s even where I first met Geeky Sex Toys, who I now work for. But it was at the most recent convention that I first came into contact with a small business who I believe represents everything this industry needs right now, and that business was Deeper Blue Ceramics.

Review: Uberrime Spiro Nebula

Uberrime Spiro NebulaDuring the burst of confidence my review of the Uberrime Ripley Alien gave me a few months back that saw me asking SheVibe to review the Uberrime Dr. Manhattan, I decided to also try my luck with another of the brand’s toys: the Spiro. Smaller than the Dr. Manhattan but larger than the Ripley Alien, the Spiro has a maximum diameter of 4.4cm / 1.75″, which is a size I am quite familiar with as it features on many of my favourite dildos, such as the Tantus Vamp Super Soft and Tantus Uncut #1. However, other than the beautiful colouring, this isn’t a toy I was drawn to initially as I found the shape of it super unusual, particularly the idea of having the most girthy part of the toy halfway down its shaft. But I wouldn’t be a very good reviewer if I didn’t try new things, and it turned out resisting its vibrant colours was harder than I thought!

Review: Uberrime Dr. Manhattan

Uberrime Dr. Manhattan

Some time ago I read a review on the Uberrime Dr. Manhattan, a dildo based on one of my favourite characters from the Watchmen comic series, and decided I had to have one. But then I checked its measurements, and like many of the fantasy toys I spend my time lusting after (see also: the Uberrime Cthulhu and anything from Pleasure Forge), I determined it was probably too big for me. After reviewing the Uberrime Ripley Alien back in July however, it gave me a new outlook on what my limits were. That toy was made with a super soft silicone I’d never experienced before, and it meant I could take its large size a lot easier than expected. So once that review was done, I had another look at the Uberrime Dr. Manhattan, and found that it used the same silicone. Apparently that was enough for me to decide that it would be my next dildo for review, and so as SheVibe agreed to send the product out to me I crossed my fingers that I’d actually be able to use it!

Review: Uberrime Ripley Alien

Uberrime Ripley Alien

For someone who is as geeky as me, I’m sure you’d imagine I have a full range of fantasy toys from all my favourite mythical creatures. Well, I do in my dreams… But in reality? Not so much. More than once on the blog I’ve announced that I was going to put more focus on reviewing fantasy dildos (including a few months ago in my Top 10 Toys of 2018 list), but this is always far easier said than done. Fantasy toys typically come in two categories: those made by Bad Dragon, a big company with an even bigger fan-base that often dominates the market, or those made by indie artisans. I’ve tried working with Bad Dragon before to little success, and indie makers often don’t have the funds to send out free review products (let alone ship them to Australia). But today, thanks to retailer SheVibe, I am finally writing my first ever fantasy toy review on the Uberrime Ripley Alien!

Review: Godemiche Ambit

Godemiche Ambit

Have you ever bought something that you couldn’t even begin to justify, you just really needed it? I’m sure we’ve all made such an impulsive and stupid, yet wonderful, decision once in our lives, and mine is definitely the Godemiche Ambit. I’ve had my eye on Godemiche since they started up, a small husband and wife team from the UK who hand-make all of their silicone products. So far their range has been small, offering their signature Adam dildo, a butt plug, a ball gag and The Peg, which is finger-like toy designed for anal beginners. They’re all brilliant start-up products, and I doubt it will be long before they expand, especially since they are currently designing a wand attachment dildo for the Doxy Wand, as well as an attachment for the new Doxy bullet vibe that was announced at the ETO Show this year. As much as I have wanted to try out their products, I was worried that the girth of the Adam (the only product I was particularly interested in) would be too much for me. That all changed however when the Ambit was announced, a slimmer dildo designed for G-spot stimulation. It looked like the perfect dildo for me, and I was so excited for it I even made a statement about how great it looked for SHE Magazine (pg.62). Of course I couldn’t afford it, but after seeing it made for someone else in Godemiche’s Galaxy colour combination, I just couldn’t resist any longer and immediately ordered one.

Review: BS Atelier Alex

BS Atelier Alex

I have a huge thing for hand-made dildos by small studios. It just makes it so much more personal and I always love the idea that the product you own could differ slightly from what someone else might own, making each one unique. BS Atelier’s products are no exception to this, with all their toys being carefully hand crafted in their studio in Spain. I have had their Alex dildo on my wishlist for as long as I have been blogging due to other blogger’s great reviews and its beautiful designs, first in its Light Blue Noise colouring, and later in its Blue Rainbow version. I hadn’t really taken any steps to getting this dildo however, until earlier this year in June, with the tragic events that took place in the US, I had a huge need to get my hands on anything Pride related, and this was of course on the top of my list. BS Atelier were very easy and lovely to contact and agreed to send me the toy for review.
