Top 10 Sex Toys of 2018

Wow, another year is over already! The end of 2018 marks my fourth year running this blog, and what a fantastic 12 months it has been! Putting together my Top 10 Sex Toys post is always one of my favourite things to do every December, and it’s easily my favourite blog post of the year. Working on it gives me the opportunity to look back and reflect on all the fantastic products I’ve reviewed throughout the year, and also gives me the chance to thank all my wonderful readers, as well as all the companies who have worked with me.

2018 felt like it went by in a flash, but at the same time it felt very long. For Princess Previews it has definitely been a bit of an odd year. On the one hand this was my first year of blogging where I wasn’t also studying, which meant I could give it pretty much my full attention. This paid off in numerous ways, from doubling the number of page views from last year, to earning enough money from just blogging to support myself some months. However, on the other hand, I posted far less this year than I usually do. There were two main reasons for this. Firstly, I got sick way back in May, so much so that I ended up in hospital and am only just starting to feel better. This really took over my life for much of the year, with more doctors, medication, and therapy visits than I care to count. The other reason is far more positive, which is that I started my dream job of working for my favourite sex toy company, Geeky Sex Toys! I’ve been running parts of their social media since February, and handling their influencer / reviewers program since July. It’s super fun work for a company that combines my two favourite things, sex toys and pop culture, and I couldn’t be happier. Plus I get to bring a lot of knowledge over from my work here, as after years of receiving sex toys for review I’m now the one sending them!

Next year my plans are really more of the same (except with less illness). I intend to rebrand the blog visually, which is an exciting prospect as currently no real branding efforts have been made towards it. I am also hoping to focus more on reviews and guides, and I have been thinking a lot about what fun giveaways I could potentially run (give me your suggestions!). This year’s review theme was mostly cheaper toys, as I wanted to provide a range that was more accessible than the luxury products of previous years. This is very obvious in the list below, and it makes me proud that this is my most budget friendly Top 10 ever. Next year, however, I want to switch things up a bit and dive into the indie fantasy toy scene so I can focus more on artisan dildos. This is a market I’ve tried to get into previously with no luck, but it has been on the rise lately and I think it’s about time for me to try again.

As usual I am super thankful to all the companies who have been kind enough to work with me this year, as without them I wouldn’t have any content for the blog! This was Peepshow Toys, Nikki Darling, Mojoco, Paloqueth, Adorime, ROSE RAIN, The Ersties Podcast, Yes, Rocks Off, Fleurotics, Wildfire, Femplay, JOUJOU and Mimi De Luxe. An even bigger thank you then goes out to all my blog sponsors from throughout the year, Femplay, Couples Toy Store, Madame Claude, Adorime, ROSE RAIN, and currently Aphrodizical, as without them I simply couldn’t afford to run this blog! This year I placed Number 44 on Molly’s Daily Kiss’s Top 100 Sex Blogs of 2018, and was included on Kinkly’s Top 100 Sex Blogging Superheroes of 2018 list (which wasn’t ranked this year). I’m also now at Number 24 on Kinkly’s Top Sex Blogs list, which is an great honour! My Third Blogiversary Giveaway was also a great success and I’m really proud of how it went, with over $600 in prizes to be won from four of my favourite Australian retailers, Nikki Darling, Mimi De Luxe, JOUJOU, and Mojoco, so a huge thank you to them for helping to make it my biggest giveaway yet.

Finally, the BIGGEST thank you goes out to all of my subscribers, followers, and readers! I run this blog solely for you folks, to educate you all about sex toys and to help you feel as confident as possible when making purchasing decisions!

Top 10 Sex Toys of 2018

As with my 2016 and 2017 lists, this purely contains toys I have reviewed in 2018, regardless of when they came out or when I first received them. To keep things simple I am only featuring sex toys, so no other products, such as lubricant, will be included. While it’d be great to have separate categories for the products, I’ve also decided to keep it straightforward by just having an overall Top 10. I’ve tried my best to keep this list balanced, and it is essentially just based off “What did I like using most?”. I’ve attempted to only recommend a small selection of my most trusted retailers to purchase each toy from, and as such you can find my exclusive discount codes for almost all of them here! I hope you enjoy it, and let me know your own favourite toys from 2018 in the comments section below!

Number 10 – Rocks Off Unihorn Stardust

 Rocks Off Unihorn Stardust

This toy was more of a success visually than in actual use. As a unicorn horn themed clitoral vibrator, the Rocks Off Unihorn Stardust is absolutely gorgeous, and photos really don’t do its magical colours justice. The way it functions is great too, and for under $30 USD it really seems like the whole package. That is, until, I turn its vibrations on and remember how buzzy they are and why they couldn’t make me orgasm. But I do know not everyone is as picky about their vibrations as I am, and so even though it didn’t work for me I’m still happy to place it at Number 10 on the list.

Sadly, the Rocks Off Unihorn has now been discontinued.

Number 9 – Sola Sync

Sola Sync

The Sola Sync was one of the most well designed toys I tried this year. It was obvious that a lot of thought and work had gone into it, such as its light-weight design and ergonomically curved handle to make holding it easier, its flat shape to allow it to rest comfortably between two bodies, its remote allowing the wand to be hands-free, and much more. All of these things elevated it from a traditional wand massager, and allowed for it to be far more accessible. Despite all this though, I did unfortunately have some issues with it, resulting in it only making Number 9 on the list.

Sadly, the Sola Sync has now been discontinued.

Number 8 – Nephrite Jade Yoni Egg

 Nephrite Jade Yoni Egg

Reviewing the Nephrite Jade Yoni Egg was such a different experience for me that it easily become my most memorable review of 2018. I have a system for how I test each type of sex toy these days, but trying a toy like this was unprecedented for me. I had to spend a lot of quality time with it, bathe it in moonlight, and I even got into the habit of lighting candles every time I put it in. Even though at the end of the day it’s just a smoothed stone with a hole drilled through it, I still had a really good time using this and am proud to have it at Number 8 on the list.

You can get the Nephrite Jade Yoni Egg directly from Gemstone Yoni starting at just $73 AUD / $46.99 USD!

Number 7 – Funkit Toys NoFrillDo R

Funkit Toys NoFrillDo R

The Funkit Toys NoFrillDo R really lived up to its name. It uses a simple design and look, and doesn’t even come with any fancy packaging. But all this allows for it to be extremely low cost, and considering it’s made with body-safe silicone, this is a pretty good deal. Even though it is so simple, the NoFrillDo still manages to be special. First, the CYMK colours it comes in are stunning, especially as yellow and blue are so uncommon for sex toys. Second, it feels amazing in use. Being a smaller dildo it certainly didn’t fill me up enough to compete with my other favourites, but this was definitely the best dildo I tried all year.

You can get the NoFrillDo R directly from Funkit Toys for just $37 AUD / $24 USD!

Number 6 – Rocks Off Purple Heart

Rocks Off Purple Heart

My previous experience with Rocks Off products always led to disappointment due to their poor vibrations, so I was nervous in testing the Rocks Off Purple Heart. But instead I found myself pleasantly surprised with this unique vibrator that I think is best classified as a mini wand massager. This toy allows you to quickly switch between pin-point and broad stimulation, which is rare to find and something I love. Since getting this it has become one of my go-to toys. The only downside is that for a $50 USD product I don’t think it should be battery-operated, which is why it’s only sitting at Number 6 on the list.

Sadly, the Rocks Off Purple Heart has now been discontinued.

Number 5 – Blush Novelties Noje W3

Blush Novelties Noje W3

Out of everything I tried this year, this is easily the toy I was most impressed by. The Blush Novelties Noje W3 really doesn’t look like much, and it’s very small. This definitely led me to underestimate it, and so I was really shocked to find that despite its appearance it contained powerful vibrations more in the vein of a clitoral vibrator than a wand massager. Not only that, but it ticks all my boxes in terms of functionality, with it being USB rechargeable, waterproof, and travel-lockable!

Sadly, the Blush Novelties Noje W3 has now been discontinued.

Number 4 – Satisfyer Pro G-Spot Rabbit

Satisfyer Pro G-Spot Rabbit

You think I would have learned to not doubt Satisfyer now, but even after having their products appear in all of my Top 10 lists, I was still unsure about the ability of the Satisfyer Pro G-Spot Rabbit. Dual stimulation toys are difficult to pull off, and considering Satisfyer’s intense suction technology, I thought this would be too much of a stretch for them. They proved me wrong, of course, since this toy is sitting pretty at Number 4. In my review I declared that it gave me the “most intense orgasm I’ve ever had”, which is pretty much all you need to know about it.

You can get the Satisfyer Pro G-Spot Rabbit from JOUJOU for just $89.99 AUD / $61 USD!

Number 3 – Paloqueth G-Spot Vibrator

Paloqueth G-Spot Vibrator

Last year I expressed disbelief that a toy under $30 USD made it to the Number 10 spot on this list. So you can imagine how surprised I am that this year a toy that costs almost $20 USD made it to Number 3. The Paloqueth G-Spot Vibrator isn’t really anything special, it’s just a basic G-Spot vibrator. But for some reason my G-Spot LOVED it, and I just couldn’t get enough. Despite its placement on this list, Paloqueth sadly don’t have any stockists and only sell the product through Amazon to the US and Germany. I’ve also had issues with the company since posting this review, so I would caution anyone purchasing from them.

Sadly, the Paloqueth G-Spot Vibrator has now been discontinued.

Number 2 – Satisfyer Pro Plus Vibration

Satisfyer Pro Plus Vibration

I’ve had Satisfyer toys in my Top 10 list two years in a row now, at Number 3 in 2016, and at Number 4 in 2017. Which means that not only is 2018 a new record for having two Satisfyers in my Top 10, but the Satisfyer Pro Plus Vibration at Number 2 is also the highest spot they’ve ever claimed! This marks the Pro Plus Vibration as the best Satisfyer toy I have tried so far. They took the Satisfyer’s intense suction technology that I love so much, and combined it with rumbly and satisfying vibrations. It’s truly a match made in heaven.

You can get the Satisfyer Pro Plus Vibration from JOUJOU for just $89.99 AUD / $61 USD!

Number 1 – b-Vibe Snug Plug 2

b-Vibe Weighted Snug Plug 2

The b-Vibe Snug Plug 2 is a deceptively simple toy. It doesn’t have any fancy modes or functions, hell it’s not even electrical! But what it does do is take an issue I have had with silicone plugs for years, and fix it to create easily the best butt plug I have ever tried. The simple addition of the weight in this toy revolutionised my silicone plug game, but even without that it’s just a really good butt plug. The silicone is buttery-smooth, the neck is as thin as it can be while still being sturdy, and the base is extremely comfortable between the cheeks. It’s very well deserved to take my coveted Number 1 spot!

You can get the b-Vibe Snug Plug from Lovehoney for just $69.95 AUD / $54.99 USD!

  1. Our go to toy has been the Satisfyer Pro Traveller. I feel like the addition of vibration would ruin the subtlety of it….that said, we’re willing to try!
