Uberrime Ripley Alien

For someone who is as geeky as me, I’m sure you’d imagine I have a full range of fantasy toys from all my favourite mythical creatures. Well, I do in my dreams… But in reality? Not so much. More than once on the blog I’ve announced that I was going to put more focus on reviewing fantasy dildos (including a few months ago in my Top 10 Toys of 2018 list), but this is always far easier said than done. Fantasy toys typically come in two categories: those made by Bad Dragon, a big company with an even bigger fan-base that often dominates the market, or those made by indie artisans. I’ve tried working with Bad Dragon before to little success, and indie makers often don’t have the funds to send out free review products (let alone ship them to Australia). But today, thanks to retailer SheVibe, I am finally writing my first ever fantasy toy review on the Uberrime Ripley Alien!

The Brand

Uberrime Ripley Alien

Uberrime are a rather new kid on the sex toy scene, but in the short time they’ve been around they’ve already made a big name for themselves. Designing and manufacturing an amazing range of silicone fantasy creations, Uberrime have become known for creative and unique toy designs that are paired with breathtaking colours. As I mentioned before, fantasy manufacturers are often small independents, and Uberrime is no different, with the company being entirely a one-person operation. Ever since I first saw their products I’ve been determined to have one, with the Cthulhu being my particular favourite, but there was a problem: everything I wanted was too big for me! Thankfully though when SheVibe asked me to choose a review item (and I went straight to their Uberrime section) there was one fantasy dildo there that I thought would work for my body, and that toy was the Uberrime Ripley Alien.

Product Description

The Uberrime Ripley Alien is the most unique, and dare I say, most beautiful toy I’ve ever owned. However, when I first saw it in real life I was quite scared, this thing is HUGE! Was this really the smallest fantasy toy SheVibe sold from the brand? Would I really be able to fit it? As soon as I compared it to my other toys of similar size though (such as the Tantus Vamp, Uncut #1, and Gary) I relaxed, as I found that it isn’t actually as big as it first seems, but that instead its impressive appearance and large base / balls gives off the false impression of size. With a maximum diameter of 4.2cm / 1.67″, this is only my 3rd widest dildo, with the Tantus Vamp and Uncut #1 beating it out. Plus, even though it towers over all of my toys aside from the Uncut #1, when you consider that it only actually has an insertable length of 16.5cm / 6.5″ due to the balls, it’s actually fairly short. What’s more, even though this is quite a girthy toy for my tastes, with a density of soft shore 5, I would say this is my softest dildo yet.

Uberrime Ripley Alien

But the Uberrime Ripley Alien has a lot more going for it than just its size. The SheVibe product description states that it is a “creation spawned by an idea Marco [the owner of Uberrime] had of what a hybrid human/alien dildo might look like.” This is a great description, because while it has many fantasy elements, such as an almost spine-like pattern of small bumps down the underside of the shaft, raised almost tentacle-like veins, and an exaggerated ball-sack, it also still has many similarities to a real penis. This toy only comes in one colour on the SheVibe website, and that is a blend of mermaid blue and alien green with glitter throughout, and I absolutely adore this. As all of Uberrime’s toys are hand-made, the colours can come out differently on each, making every product unique, and my particular Ripley has one side that is more green and one side that is more blue. The light also really effects the colour of it, with it sometimes looking more green or blue depending on the time of day, and this also effects how the glitter appears. The base is also a work of art in itself, and this style of what I call “latte-art” bases are on the rise in artisan dildos. On the base of the toy and the bottom of the balls are some small air bubbles leftover from the manufacturing process, but since these aren’t going to be inserted into me it’s not a problem. Lastly, this toy is anal safe, but due to the balls being connected to the base it is not harness compatible.

Packaging

My order for the Uberrime Ripley Alien was placed with SheVibe on the 24th of April, and I received it on the 6th of May. The box was 100% discreet, with no mention of the sender or what was inside. Since Uberrime are a small indie company, they don’t have proper packaging for their products. Instead, my Ripley Alien arrived in a plastic bag that featured the name of the toy on a sticker, similar to another indie toy I reviewed a few months ago, the Funkit NoFrillDo R. This is absolutely fine with me as I don’t expect small companies to have packaging in the same way a manufacturer who sells their toys in brick-and-mortar stores has. Plus, it means less waste (as I always throw the packaging away), and I get a free plastic bag (thank god, because this toy is too big for any of the zip-lock bags I usually store dildos in!). It also came with a branded envelope which contained a small handwritten thank-you note from Marco (it’s personal touches like this that make me love supporting smaller companies) and a A4 sheet of printed FAQ information. This FAQ answers questions such as storage, cleaning, and compatible lubricants, as well as listing Uberrime’s returns policy, terms and conditions, and other legal information.

My Experience

Even though this is quite a girthy toy, the soft silicone means that insertion is relatively easy, even compared to toys of the same width as it. I do, however, find that the silicone has a bit of a tacky feeling, and so lots of lubricant is a must. To help myself warm-up, I like to start with either the Funkit Toys NoFrillDo R or Tantus Pack ‘n Play No.2 (or both!), and if I feel like something extra then the Tantus Vamp Super Soft can be good too (as even though it is slightly wider in size, it is more tapered). After this the Ripley then inserts easily.

Uberrime Ripley Alien Base

I love the feeling of the Ripley inside of me. This is for two key reasons: its texture and its squishiness. I’ve never used such a soft toy before and its large size really lets this aspect shine, as it feels like it completely fills me up in a satisfying way (rather than the sometimes obtrusive feel that larger toys can have). Thrusting with it then feels amazing due to all the little textured design features it has, but my favourite has to be the two main ribbed sections under the head (pictured below), as these create a satisfying popping sensation. As I imagined, the Ripley easily reaches my A-Spot and stimulates it superbly, but I’ve found that the size and texture of the toy also means it can offer some sensation to my G-Spot, particularly if the toy is angled upwards. What’s more, if I get tired and let go of the toy, I find it continues to stimulate me, as the weight of the balls means that the toy is being constantly forced down, allowing it to put pressure on my G-Spot all by itself! Due to all of this, there are many different ways you can use this toy, but each one is perfect and feels fantastic.

Cleaning & Care

Since the Uberrime Ripley Alien is entirely made of silicone, it is also waterproof, which makes cleaning it a breeze. For general cleaning it is best to wipe it down with warm soapy water and rinse before and after every use. Be careful to also clean around the veins and other textured elements though, and for this I’d recommend scrubbing with a soapy toothbrush. If you are switching between partners or vaginal and anal play, then I’d recommend sterilising it by throwing it in the dishwasher, wiping it down with a 10% bleach solution or boiling it for 5 minutes. After, let air dry and then return it to storage. Make sure to only use water-based lubricant with it as other lubes may damage the silicone.

Final Thoughts

Uberrime Ripley Alien Head

Alien is one of my all time favourite films and franchises, so the fact that I now own a dildo inspired by it is truly out of this world. I’ve been so eager to try an Uberrime toy and learn what all the fuss was about, and even though I chose this particular product as a necessity because it was the only one that I thought would fit me, I couldn’t be happier with it. As a fantasy toy beginner, I think this design which is a blend between an alien and human penis is the perfect starter, as it allowed me to experiment with the idea of fantasy while still having features that I am use to present. Then, using it almost feels like an out-of-body-experience, as it fills me up perfectly and gives me insane amounts of pleasure, making this easily one of the best dildos I’ve ever tried. I also feel a lot more confident in hopefully trying larger sizes from Uberrime now that I know just how soft their silicone is. I would definitely recommend the Ripley Alien to anyone looking to start their fantasy toy journey like me, or if you’re after a smaller fantasy alternative without skimping on a cool design.

Sadly, the Uberrime Ripley Alien has now been discontinued.

  1. What shore durometer was the Ripley originally? Ripley 2 is shore a5 and I’m trying to get an idea of how soft that is. Thank you!
