Over the last year or so it feels like we have been watching the resurgence of the mini wand massager. Long a popular option for those who enjoy the power that comes with these larger toys, without the privacy concerns and inconvenience that they inevitably bring, they have in the past been a way for manufacturers to provide massager-style options without doubling down on a product type that has some fierce competition. But with both the Hitachi Magic Wand Rechargeable and Doxy Massager now getting smaller versions of their iconic wands, this genre of sex toy has quickly begun to capture people’s attention again. So today I thought we would take a look at Honey Play Box’s recent contribution, with a wand that’s here to prove that good things really do come in small packages.

Magic Wand MiniAs with all things in life, it can often be hard to recognise change and progress when it’s part of your day-to-day. But every now and then something comes along that gives you that moment of realisation of just how far things have come, and that’s what today’s review item did for me. You see, when I first turned eighteen and decided to buy a sex toy, I scoured the interwebs for the perfect product. I wanted something with power, but at the same time didn’t have much money and needed it to be discreet. Being fond of clitoral stimulation, a wand massager was the ideal choice, but the options available were… less than ideal. After many failed attempts with mini versions, whose smaller size better suited my privacy needs at the time, I was eventually able to fork out for a Magic Wand Rechargeable, which clearly worked since it remains my favourite sex toy to this day. Still, I can only imagine how much easier things would have been for myself and others if a toy like the Magic Wand Mini had existed back then.

Over the years my favourite sex toys have changed considerably. After all, as my opportunities to test luxury products have increased and countless new innovations have gone to market, it should be without saying that my go-to options have also evolved, and it only takes a quick look at the difference between my 2018 Favourites post versus my 2020 version (which is already quite outdated) to see what I mean. But despite all this time, there is one product that has remained, and that is my favourite wand massager, the Magic Wand Rechargeable. In fact, not only is this toy my favourite massager, but my favourite sex toy in general, which, considering I’ve tested hundreds of adult products since I first got it in 2015, is very impressive. What’s perhaps even more impressive though is that there has only ever been one toy that has come close to knocking it off its pedestal. Yet while the Doxy Die Cast had so much going for it, its need to be constantly plugged-in during use meant it just couldn’t top the convenience of the Magic Wand Rechargeable. When I recently heard that Doxy had finally released a USB rechargeable version of their legendary massager, however…. well that’s all I needed to know.

If you follow me on social media then you’ll know that I am currently in the midst of a festive collaboration with Lovehoney! Titled the 12 Days of Christmas, it’s something we’ve been working on quietly for the last few months, and I’ve been so excited to finally be able to share it with all of you! Basically we put our sex toy expertise together to come up with a list of twelve items from their store that we thought would make the ultimate gifts this holiday season, and now it’s December I’ve been slowly revealing a new one each day over at my Twitter and Instagram in the lead-up to Christmas. Despite being a relatively new brand, Le Wand’s products continually seem to be a topic of debate among sex bloggers, and for good reason. Accused of being a “copy-cat” manufacturer, the luxury toy brand has been releasing products that look suspiciously similar to those from other brands for years now, but with the announcement of their latest Stainless Steel collection, which features toys almost identical to those from Njoy, things have really heated up. Now, my thoughts on this matter could make up an entire post of their own, so for now I’ll just say that taking inspiration from popular products is just part of design, and as frustrating as it might be, it’s something that happens across all industries. Plus, an important thing to consider is that while Njoy’s products (which range from $130 to $520 AUD) are not a possibility for most people, Le Wand’s are significantly cheaper, and I am 100% here for making toys more accessible. At the end of the day though, Le Wand is a luxury brand too, and keeping their prices lower than the toys they take inspiration from isn’t always easy. With that in mind, today I am taking a look at the Le Wand Rechargeable Massager, a toy that’s very similar to one of my personal favourites, the Magic Wand Rechargeable, despite costing more!

Review: Magic Wand Plus

Magic Wand Plus

After five long years of reviewing every sex toy I can get my hands on, you’d think my number one favourite would have changed multiple times. But despite all odds, it hasn’t. The Hitachi Magic Wand Rechargeable, regarded by many as the best sex toy ever made, was one of the first vibrators I ever bought and reviewed, and to this day remains inseparable from me. I’ve certainly tried products that are more pleasurable, such as the Njoy Pure Wand and Womanizer DUO, and wand massagers aren’t even my favourite type of sex toy anymore (that title finally went to suction toys after I reviewed the Womanizer Premium back in March), but yet the Magic Wand persists. There is just something about its intense rumbly vibrations and soft yet flat head, mixed with the familiarity I have with it after years of use. Not to mention it is by far one of my easiest sex toys to use, considering that it’s wireless, requires charging very rarely, and I can use it over my underwear for minimal clean-up, making it perfect for my lazy masturbation ways. Despite my love for it however, there has always been the issue of its cost whenever I recommend it to somebody, which is understandably more than most people want to spend on a vibrator. So, when I heard that Vibratex were creating a new version of this classic toy at a lower price point and calling it the Magic Wand Plus? Sign me up!!
