Love to Love Dildolls Utopia

An unexpected positive to how much time we’ve all collectively spent inside over the last few years, has to be the rise of the independent sex toy maker. But as these silicone artisans continue to elevate what we previously thought was possible, with dildos and other non-electrical toys available for the first time in a huge range of shapes, styles, and colours, it’s starting to make the bigger brands realise that we aren’t going to be satisfied with just flesh tones and pinks and purples any longer. Rather, we want the same level of choice and innovation when it comes to dildos as with vibrators and suction toys. So, when I first saw the Dildolls range by French manufacturer Love to Love, I knew they got it, and it’s been no surprise to me that these eye-catching toys have since become such a sensation.

The Brand

Sub-brand of French distributor Lovely Planet, Love to Love has been creating vibrant and unique sex toys since 2004. Their motto, “sex, fun & rock and roll”, speaks to their ambition to combine design with pop culture, and this has lead to a successful range of products and collaborations with prestigious French designers. In fact, their product Enjoy! was the first sex toy to be exhibited at the Art Basel in Miami and sold at MoMA in New York. While I had not heard of either brand prior to seeing the release of the Dildolls line, upon looking them up I instantly recognised some of their more notable designs, such as their I Scream and Banana Oh Yes, although overall I do find the majority of their current range quite generic looking.

Product Description

Love to Love Dildolls Utopia Head

The Love to Love Dildolls are quite a simple, beginner’s friendly range of dildos, with the two biggest things going for them being a low price and beautiful colour schemes. There is three to choose from, with each having its own name, and these are the pink to blue gradient Utopia, glittery pink Glitzy, and glow-in-the-dark Fantasia with its pastel drip design. Of the three, I chose the Utopia, as I thought it looked the most unique and visually appealing to me, and in person it is even more gorgeous, with the semi-translucent transition between colours being quite mesmerising. Outside of their appearance, the three toys then have all the same specifications, and with a maximum diameter of just 3.5cm / 1.38″ and an insertable length of 14.8cm / 5.83″, they make for a fairly small dildo, with the below-average sizing being ideal for those who are new to penetrative play or who dislike girth. A slight curve and pronounced head then angles the otherwise smooth shaft towards the G-Spot for stimulation there, whilst the base provides a handle during use. On that note, the base also makes the toy anal-safe and harness compatible, plus it has a suction cup. Finally, soft and squishy matte body-safe silicone is used on the Dildolls Utopia, which thankfully attracts minimal dust, and it also comes with a one year warranty.

Packaging

Love to Love Dildolls Utopia PackagingMy order with Betty’s Toy Box for the Love to Love Dildolls Utopia was placed on the 26th of July and I amazingly received it just two days later on the 28th, which is easily the fastest anything international has ever arrived to me. The box was then fully discreet, with no mention of who sent it or what was inside. As for the packaging of the toy itself, this was fairly minimal, with just a plastic tube containing the toy and nothing else. However, by using a holographic plastic, what would be quite boring is turned into something that looks pretty damn cool, creating a great effect whilst the toy is inside. This then features a few pieces of information about the product, and once ready you can simply remove the safety sticker at the top to take the lid off and access the Utopia. Overall, I really loved how this all looked, with it feeling special despite being low cost, and it is also minimal waste.

My Experience

Love to Love Dildolls Utopia Base

Being quite a thin dildo, I have no problems inserting the Love to Love Dildolls Utopia, and I actually find it makes a great toy for warming up prior to taking larger products. The first thing I notice when using it is actually the ridge of its head, which is quite a hard angle and can feel a little unpleasant, with a “popping” feeling I am not the biggest fan of. Though for anyone who enjoys a bit of texture, I think you’ll probably appreciate this, and for beginners it may be a good way to test whether this is for you, as you can easily move past this area if it’s not. After this there isn’t that much else that’s notable about the toy, with it unable to stimulate my G-Spot (unsurprising for me due to the soft, flexible silicone) and only just able to reach my A-Spot. Still, it does its job well, and my favourite aspect has to be the subtle increase in girth towards the base of the toy, which feels very satisfying during thrusts. Then, combine this with a favourite clitoral vibrator, such as the We-Vibe Touch X or the Doxy Bullet, and I’m having a gooood time. Plus, I find the base easy to hold, and unlike some toys the suction cup doesn’t begin to accidentally attach itself to my hand, which is always a great addition.

Suction Cup

Love to Love Dildolls Utopia Suction Cup

The suction cup on the Love to Love Dildolls Utopia is very strong, easily attaching itself to most surfaces and being not-at-all easy to remove (I once had a minor panic that I wouldn’t be able to remove it from my rental’s wall, before I finally managed to break the seal). So whilst I don’t personally make use of suction cups, I believe anyone who does would be more than happy with this.

Cleaning & Care

As the Love to Love Dildolls Utopia is 100% silicone and waterproof, cleaning it is easy. To start, I’d recommend soaking it in some warm soapy water, and you may also want to give the underside of the head an extra scrub with a spare toothbrush. After this you can rinse it with hot water, leave to air dry, and then return it to its box or a ziplock bag for safe keeping. For a more complete clean, or when switching the toy between orifices or partners, you can also sterilise it by soaking it in a 10% bleach solution or boiling it. Finally, do not use silicone based lubricant with this product, as it may damage the silicone it is made of.

Final Thoughts

Love to Love Dildolls Utopia

I was blown away when I first saw the Love to Love Dildolls Utopia’s colours, and I still am. With a colour gradient that transcends just the surface level, so that you can actually see as the two mix and fade into each other, it is one of the most visually stunning toys I own, and a pure delight to look at. But despite how amazing this is, the actual design of the toy is quite standard. Which is not to say it’s bad, and considering the appealing aesthetic and price of these toys, I would actually say it’s a good thing. By utilising such a classic shape, with just enough of a phallic appearance to keep it in the realistic realm without being off-putting to some, it makes for an ideal starter dildo for those looking to buy their first, and the smooth, slim shaft also ensures it will be a comfortable fit. Then, by offering all of the aspects you want out of a dildo, being anal safe, harness compatible, and featuring a suction cup, it really has something for everyone, regardless of how you like to play. So while the shape may get a little lost amongst my busy toy box, if you’re looking to get your first body-safe silicone dildo, you’ve found it.
