Last month I had the pleasure of reviewing my first ever Womanizer toy in the form of the Womanizer x Lovehoney Pro40. It had already been a good year for suction toys, and at that point I was pretty sure that things couldn’t get much better than the Satisfyer Luxury. But I was eager to try out the Pro40 anyway, even though I hadn’t tested anything from the brand before. Why? Well because last year Womanizer and We-Vibe, one of my favourite manufacturers and makers of the legendary We-Vibe Tango, joined forces to create WOW Tech Group. While still very much separate entities with their own styles of toys, with Womanizer focusing on suction technology and We-Vibe focusing on vibrating couples themed toys, it has allowed the two to share their award-winning tech with each other, and the results have been very exciting. On Womanizer’s end there is the DUO, their first vibrating toy, and from We-Vibe we have been blessed with the Melt, their first suction toy. So, after being thoroughly impressed by the Pro40, when I was also offered the chance to try out the We-Vibe Melt I knew I had to take it.
Background
In keeping with We-Vibe’s theme of couples toys, the Melt has been designed with exactly this in mind, and is promoted as the first suction toy to do so. Now, that’s not to say that people haven’t been using them in this way previously, but personally it’s something I’ve never managed to successfully achieve, and so the idea of one being specifically designed for it certainly excites me. If you’ve ever used one of these toys then you’ll know how difficult it is to place the nozzle perfectly on your clitoris, and then how steady you must be to ensure it doesn’t come off even slightly, thus rendering the suction ineffective. Originally, when I first started reviewing suction toys, I did try using them during PIV sex, but I ultimately found it way too difficult and so had since abandoned the idea. Now, years later, here we are with a toy that’s designed to specialise in it, and I am eager for the challenge of getting it to work.
Product Description
The We-Vibe Melt is a beautiful toy, and, if I may be so bold, I do believe it’s the best looking suction toy I’ve ever tried. These types of toys have a tendency to have over-complicated designs that don’t look very modern (not surprising when the names of the two main companies who make them are Satisfyer and Womanizer), so the sleek and minimal full body silicone of the Melt is a breath of fresh air. With only three features (the We-Vibe logo, two buttons and the charging plates) and an ergonomic design, this toy is straight-forward both to use and hold. Then, while it’s only available in one colour, that colour happens to be coral AKA Pantone’s Colour of the Year, so I think this is acceptable. The only downside to the appearance may be the seam that runs around the silicone, but this is so faint that I’m really just nitpicking. The flat handle is then where the couple’s element is suppose to come in, as this is designed to fit comfortably between you and your partner regardless of what position you’re both in. Finally, this toy also features the usual We-Vibe additions, being both fully waterproof and USB rechargeable, as well as compatible with their phone application.
Packaging
We-Vibe sent the Melt directly to me for review, and as such I won’t go into the shipping details. Additionally, as I just reviewed their Moxie earlier this month, which was released around the same time as the Melt, I wasn’t at all surprised to see that the packaging for the two is almost identical, and so you can check out a full description of it over at that review. Included with the toy was a large satin drawstring bag for storage, instruction manual (which isn’t very detailed and strangely uses vague images instead of actual words, so I have been instead using this online manual to aid with my review), charging cord, and a sample packet of Pjur lubricant (however as this contains glycerin I wouldn’t recommend its use). Finally, the We-Vibe Melt also comes with a two year warranty.
Charging
Charging the We-Vibe Melt is easy as it is USB rechargeable. Simply plug one end into a USB port and the other end can then be connected to the magnetic plates on the toy, which thankfully have a great connection strength, so you don’t need to worry about it falling off like with some of We-Vibe’s older toys. When charging a light on the toy should flash and this will become solid once the battery is full. Charging should take 90 minutes, and this should then give you two hours of play time. Additionally, when the toy is almost out of battery, it will alert you by a slow flash of its light.
Controls
As there is only two buttons on the We-Vibe Melt, which are also helpfully labelled with plus and minus symbols, controlling it is easy and straightforward. Firstly, to turn it on you just need to press the plus button, which will put the toy on its lowest steady speed, and then to turn it off you can hold down the minus button for two seconds. Once on you can continue clicking the plus or minus buttons to increase or decrease the intensity throughout 12 levels, and you can also hold the plus button down to increase the intensity quickly. In addition to controlling the toy, you can also use the buttons to perform a reset of it, as for security reasons it can only be compatible with two phones, and so you might want to change this. If so, you can hold the plus button down for 10 seconds, and success will be indicated by the light flashing at the 5 second mark and then quickly flashing once more at the 10 second mark.
The App
In addition to the manual controls, you are also able to control this toy with an app. This is my first suction toy to offer this (other than the ZALO Queen, but that toy could do so much that it doesn’t really count) which is pretty exciting, but honestly I couldn’t imagine using this type of sex toy in combination with a phone, as it’s such an intense feeling that it’s hard enough getting my brain to click buttons when using one, let alone use an app. So in this regard I find the app much more suitable for partner play. With that said, the app is one of my favourites being We-Vibe’s We-Connect, which is the same one I recently tried out with the We-Vibe Moxie, and since not much has changed you can find a full description of it, including screenshots, over at my sex toy app review round-up. There are, however, still a few points of difference worth mentioning. Firstly, as soon as I turned the app on it suggested to me that I could pair the Melt with it, which I found a bit surprising as I hadn’t even turned the Melt on yet! This is pretty convenient, but if you’re concerned about it meaning that the Melt is always visible to Bluetooth devices even when it’s turned off you can adjust its “sleep timeout” settings in the app from anywhere between 15 minutes to 4 hours, which is the length of time before the toy will actually go to sleep (and thus not show up to devices) after being turned off. Secondly, while I don’t use patterns, I kind of still expected to be able to apply them to the toy in the app. While it certainly looks like you can (the app going so far as to make the Melt show up in the “Create Vibe” section and informing me that my custom vibe “will work with all single motor devices”), it turns out once you actually make the vibe you get an error message letting you know that the Melt does not in fact support custom vibes.
First Impressions
Suction toys always seem to have noise level issues, and so far the quietest I’ve ever tried was the Satisfyer Pro Penguin Next Generation all the way back in 2017. Due to this, as well as the headache inducing sounds that came off the Womanizer x Lovehoney Pro40, I didn’t have high expectations in this regards for the Melt. But I was proved wrong, and when not in use this toy is actually the quietest suction toy I own. The only downside, however, is that when in use the toy puts out a sound that makes it just slightly louder than the Penguin (although still far quieter than any other suction toy), which is also kind of odd as usually these toys work in the opposite way, in that they get quieter when in use. Thankfully, despite the quietness of this toy, I was also quite impressed with the apparent suction strength of the Melt when I first turned it on, as the finger test showed it to be quite a forceful suction while also providing a pleasing thuddy feeling. Another feature worth mentioning is the nozzle, which has quite a wide hole and is entirely made from a squishy silicone, making it easily the softest nozzle I have felt on a toy before. Plus, this nozzle differs from others in that it does not sit directly over the hole, but rather is on a slight curve, and so I think having this extra area of silicone that can rest against the clitoris during use will only help to increase comfort.
My Experience
As soon as I turned this toy on for the first time and felt its suction on my finger I knew this was going to be good, so I was pretty eager to try it out for the first time on myself. I’ve spoken a lot recently about how suction toys have changed this year from previously providing a tingly and light sensation, to now offering a deeper and more thuddy feeling. I related this to the difference between buzzy vs rumbly vibrators, as while there are fans of both kinds, rumbly toys are offered considered the superior of the two since their style of vibrations penetrate into the body at a deeper level, thus providing, in my opinion, more pleasure. I first experienced this new kind of suction toy in the Satisfyer Luxury, and then again in the Womanizer x Lovehoney Pro40, and so I was obviously hoping to feel it again with the We-Vibe Melt, and I was not disappointed. In fact, the Melt not only uses this thuddy kind of suction, but also takes it up a notch. The suction on this toy literally ‘sucks’ stronger than any other suction toy I own, and the rumbles it produces can be physically felt when you’re holding it, so much so that you might think they are vibrations coming from an actual motor. These two aspects then work together to allow the Melt to be the strongest and most intense suction toy I own, and orgasms with it are crazy good.
After enjoying my solo time with the Melt it was time to put it to the real test: with my partner! To start off we just tried it with me using it for masturbation again whilst he controlled the toy with the app. We didn’t have any connection issues, whether he had the toy linked directly to his phone or connected via the partner play function, and found it easy to use. While he enjoyed it and I did find the aspect of submission thrilling, I also thought that as suction toys are so much more intense than regular vibrators, that having someone else be in control was rather scary. If he was in charge of a vibrator’s speed and put it on full when I wasn’t ready for it then it would quickly numb me out, but otherwise be okay. With a suction toy like this, however, it’s all too easy to put the toy on a level higher than I’m able to handle (especially since I rarely use these toys at their full strength), and if that happens it would be quite painful and could put my clit out of action for a few days. If you’ve used suction toys before and don’t find them too intense then this mode may be perfect for you, but I know I’m not alone in finding these types of toys to be a lot. Still, I did find it to be good fun and if you have a partner you trust and who you are able to communicate well with then you shouldn’t have much of a problem. Additionally, the app does have a setting that allows you to change the toy’s maximum intensity, which may be very helpful if you want to set your limits before handing control over to someone else.
Next up it was time to find out the answer to the most important question… would it work during PIV sex? Well, I still had the same problems I usually do when using a suction toy during sex, but I will admit that the design of the Melt made them easier to deal with. Firstly, depending on what a suction toy’s nozzle is like, it can potentially be quite painful if pushed down onto you during sex, particularly if it’s quite firm. However, the nozzle on the Melt is super soft and plush, so I have no worries using it in a range of positions with my partner. On that note, the nozzle on the Melt also has quite a wide opening, which meant it was harder for it to slip out of position, and if it did it made it easier to quickly reapply. Lastly, and the main reason why the Melt is promoted as a couples toy, is how flat the handle is, and I do agree that this certainly made things easier to use with my partner than some of the bulkier suction toy handles. Overall, even though it is far easier to use the Melt during sex than any other suction toy I’ve tried, I still don’t think it was really for me when I know that using a bullet vibrator like the We-Vibe Tango is going to be a lot more convenient, but it is nice to have this option and as such I would definitely call it a success.
Cleaning & Care
Cleaning the We-Vibe Melt is easy since it is waterproof and silicone. Just wash it with some warm water and soap, and then leave to air dry before returning it to its included storage bag. If you do submerge it for whatever reason also make sure to shake out any excess water that might be stuck in the nozzle, as this is something the online instructions mention but not the included ones (and as I found this out late into the review I’m still occasionally finding water dripping out of it after I tried it in the bath, which sometimes also causes the toy to turn off randomly). Additionally, make sure to only use water-based lubricants with it.
Final Thoughts
If I had to sum up my review of the We-Vibe Melt in one word it would be wow. It’s not often I get to review a toy that is just so good and so well designed, and that also manages to elevate a type of toy that was already on such a high pedestal for me. Immediately setting itself apart from other suction toys with its easy controls and sleek design, We-Vibe then went one step further by adding features that are otherwise new to suction toys: couples use and app-compatibility. Then, just to top things off, they also went ahead and made it one of the quietest and strongest suction toys ever. If I had to say one main flaw however, it would be that I think this toy may be too intense, and as such it takes time for me to adjust to when using, which in turn means I take longer to orgasm with it than I did with the Satisfyer Luxury, and as such this remains my favourite suction toy. Despite this, if app-control, partner play, or discretion is important to you, then the We-Vibe Melt is definitely the superior choice, and while it didn’t quite manage to beat out the Satisfyer Luxury in terms of pleasure according to my clitoris, I can still objectively admit that this is the best suction toy I’ve tried.
Sadly, the We-Vibe Melt has now been discontinued.
But you can still grab one at limited retailers if you’re quick!

Wow! This toy sounds absolutely amazing. I only have the pro satisfier 2, which I love. However, after reading this, this toy sounds amazing. The design looks great and from the way you describe the sensations, it makes me want to buy one in the future!
I read this not long before getting the chance to get my own Melt and agree so much with everything you said, I was so gutted though that 2wks after I got mine they released the navy blue one
