Irresistible Mythical

Last week’s review was full of firsts. It was my first time reviewing a suction toy outside of those from the major brands, such as Satisfyer and We-Vibe, which was surprising considering they’re my favourite type of sex toy. Plus, it was my first real look at the suction rabbit trend, which has recently risen out of the brilliant success of the Womanizer DUO. So it must be fate, because entirely by coincidence it just so happens that this week’s review item from For Her Box is an almost identical product (I did say it was a big trend, after all!). But while the Sohimi Suction Vibrator offered four different forms of stimulation all within its small little body for the ridiculously low price of $38, the Irresistible Mythical is significantly more simplified yet much more costly, coming in at $165. Still, this is far from the beloved DUO’s $330, making the Mythical a perfect middle ground between the two toys. Whether that actually stays true during testing however… we’re about to find out!

The Brand

Irresistible is a sub-brand of Shots America, who are one of the largest wholesalers of adult toys in the world. Surprisingly, however, it is my first time working with them, and so I do believe some introductions are in order! As you’d imagine Shots are in charge of a huge range of brands, with some of their best known lines being ElectroShock, Loveline, and Ouch!, and while they aren’t often on my reviewing radar as I typically work with independent brands, they are the company who supply a lot of the stock you’ll see in physical sex stores and adult retailers, and so they are still very much a popular choice for consumers. Irresistible, on the other hand, is Shot’s collection of luxury suction products that came out in 2019. There are five items in total (For Her Box stock all except the Seductive), and in addition to each of them featuring suction technology, they are also all waterproof, USB rechargeable, and body-safe due to their fully silicone coating. Plus, each comes in your choice of pink, purple, or black, and while these colours are all quite overdone in this industry, the shades they’ve chosen for the pink and purple are at least quite different from the norm.

Product Description

Irresistible Mythical

Every suction dual-stimulator I’ve tried so far has featured a vastly different design, and the Irresistible Mythical is no different. While others have tried to either copy the classic rabbit shape or create more of a C-shaped curve, the Mythical’s shape is a bit more smooshed, with there being very little space between the two arms, and the suction nozzle coming in at almost half the length of the toy’s shaft. Even stranger is that there is also no curve to the internal arm, despite it being suppose to stimulate the G-Spot, nor is its length firm enough to allow for it to be positioned in a way that allows it to reach. To be honest, almost the entire design of this toy confuses me, and I think the biggest thing is that when I requested it I expected it to be a lot bigger, and far more in line with the size of the Womanizer DUO, which is the toy it resembles most. Instead though it’s about half of that, and with the G-Spot arm being only 9cm / 3.5 inches in length it’ll be one of the shortest internal toys I’ve ever used. Out of the three potential colour options my copy is purple (although For Her Box only seem to stock the pink right now), which is a lovely dark shade. Two buttons can be found just below the suction nozzle, whilst a flat area at the very bottom not only houses the magnetic charging points, but allows for the toy to stand upright, making it easy to display. A metallic strip of ABS plastic then separates the silicone between the suction nozzle and the rest of the toy, although the nozzle is not removable for easy cleaning like most. Finally, as previously mentioned this toy is waterproof, and while it is anal-safe it is not intended for this kind of use.

Packaging

Irresistible Mythical Packaging

For Her Box sent the Irresistible Mythical out to me on the 1st of February and I received it promptly on the 4th, which was fantastic. Plus, as usual the box was 100% discreet, with no mention of the sender or contents, and for a full unboxing you can check this out. Inside the items were then beautifully gift wrapped, with free samples of lubricant and oils being included alongside a small thank you card offering both care instructions and a small discount on future orders, and it is this level of customer care that makes For Her Box one of my favourite Australian retailers. As for the Mythical itself, this has fairly simple packaging at first glance, just featuring a few pictures of the toy and a lengthy description on the back. However it then opens up magnetically from one side, which is pretty cool and reminds me of a more basic version of Lora DiCarlo’s packaging. Here you’ll then find the toy resting safely in foam, alongside a charging cord and instruction manual. Now, considering the high price of this toy, I did kind of expect it to come with a storage bag. Plus, I’m not all too impressed with the “manual”, which honestly just reads more like an advertising brochure. Rather than being specific to the Mythical, this small document caters to the entire Irresistible range, with it only giving the bare minimum of information on how to use each toy. Of its contents, 95% is a lengthy explanation on suction toys, similar to what’s on the back of the packaging and on For Her Box’s website, which isn’t all that well written and features a lot of bold and gendered claims (saying that the Irresistible Collection’s products are “the best sex toys for women in the market period”, and that “it accommodates any woman’s shape to create the most intense orgasm ever experienced”), as well as the propagating the common misconception that other vibrators can “desensitise your clitoris by overstimulation”. Overall, I don’t really think the Mythical’s packaging or its contents were really appropriate considering its luxury price tag, although thankfully it does at least come with a one year warranty.

Charging

Irresistible Mythical Charging

Charging the toy is supposed to be easy, as since the Irresistible Mythical is USB rechargeable you should just be able to connect one end of the charging cord to the magnetic plates on its bottom, and the other end into a USB port. However, the magnetic strength of the charger has to be one of the worst, if not the worst, I’ve ever experienced, and getting the toy to connect at all, let alone stay connected, is a nightmare. Even when I do get it, I frequently find that it’s stopped at some point and needs to be readjusted, making being able to ever give it a full charge almost impossible. Plus, Irresistible have included no information on what to expect when charging, although it seems they are going for the most common method, which is for an LED light to flash when the toy is on charge, and for this to then become solid once complete. Charging should then take 2 hours, and this will give you around 1 hour of playtime, which isn’t the best.

Controls

Controlling the Irresistible Mythical is pretty straight-forward and very similar to the controls of the Sohimi Suction Vibrator from my last review. Essentially, the top button controls the suction, which I find easy to remember since it’s the closest button to it, whilst the lower button controls the vibrations. To turn on either just hold down the button for 2.5 second, which will turn on the associated motor. You can then continue clicking the button to cycle through the toy’s modes, with the suction having 11, all of which are steady, and the vibrations having 10, 3 of which are steady and 7 of which are patterns. Motors can then either be used separately or together, and to turn them off you’ll need to hold down each button separately for 2.5 seconds again, which means this can take a little while if both are on. Overall this all works well and I do like that unlike the Suction Vibrator this toy does not feature a stand-by mode, making it harder to drain the battery. However, one note is that typically suction toys will feature two buttons for controlling suction, one to increase speeds and another to decrease them, like on the Womanizer DUO. This is great as you can quickly adjust speeds, and once you reach the top level nothing will happen if you keep trying to increase it. But with the Mythical, once you reach the top speed, the next click will put you right back to level 1, which can be incredibly anticlimactic… literally. Plus, whilst the Sohimi toy did the same thing, this was less of an issue as it only featured 5 speeds, which was easy to remember and quick to fix, but with the Mythical’s 11 this is much harder. Additionally, the Mythical also takes longer to turn off and on than most other toys, including the Sohimi, which can feel a bit frustrating during use and has been particularly detrimental to my particular form of edging during masturbation.

First Impressions

Irresistible Mythical Base

Since this is my first product from either Shots or Irresistible, I had no idea what to expect in regards to the suction and vibrations. Trying out the suction for the first time on my thumb though I was a bit disappointed, as while I thought it felt alright, it was definitely not as strong as I am typically use to from these types of toys. The vibrations, however, were a different story, feeling super rumbly and strong, and far greater than what the Sohimi Suction Vibrator had to offer. As for the noise level this is then pretty loud, especially when both motors are turned on, although once the internal arm is inside of you and a seal is made around the suction nozzle this is greatly reduced, and so you should be able to use it pretty discreetly behind closed doors. Finally, also worth mentioning is that there is a good amount of cushioning around the suction nozzle, which I always love to see.

My Experience

Upon inserting the Irresistible Mythical for the first time I was surprisingly happy with the placement of the arm inside of me, as while it doesn’t feature a curve to allow it to be used for G-Spot stimulation, the bulbous size of it means that it can be positioned right on the outskirts, thus still providing some pleasure here once the vibrations are turned on. In fact, the vibrations in particular are a huge win for this toy, being deeply powerful and easily some of the best internal vibes I’ve had. As for the suction however, this unfortunately was not as successful. It’s immediately obvious upon inserting the Mythical that it wasn’t designed for my body, as the suction nozzle naturally rests nowhere near my clitoris. Thankfully though I can pull it to create a seal, but this isn’t the most comfortable and does feels a bit awkward in use. Plus, this means that using the toy hands-free, which is a big part of why I love the Womanizer DUO and Sohimi Suction Vibrator so much, is a lot more difficult with this toy, and typically I end up just holding it during use. The suction then isn’t the best I’ve tried but it does feel good, and I do love that there are so many levels to enjoy. This, then combined with the internal vibrations, give me some wonderfully satisfying orgasms, and while they aren’t “the most intense orgasms of” my life like Irresistible promised, they’re still damn good. Finally, in comparison to my other dual-stimulation suction toys, it is much better than the Suction Vibrator in every regard during use, other than the hands-free mode, although it still didn’t quite come close to the DUO, which is really on a whole other plane of existence from both of them.

Cleaning & Care

Irresistible Mythical Suction Nozzle

Cleaning the Irresistible Mythical is easy since it is made from silicone and is waterproof. Just throw it in some warm soapy water when you’re done, and then give it a wash, rinse, and dry. Additionally you may want to take extra care around the plastic that separates the nozzle, since fluids may build up here. You can then store it in a zip-lock bag to keep it clean, or in the box it came with. Make sure to not use silicone-based lubricant with this product, as it may react badly to the silicone it is made of, but if you do then first perform a spot test.

Final Thoughts

After enjoying the Sohimi Suction Vibrator so much last week and my continuing obsession with the Womanizer DUO, trying out another toy straight-away that is so similar yet so different made me concerned for if it could really compare. But while it wasn’t a perfect product, it turns out the Irresistible Mythical still absolutely knew how to bring it, and in the short time I’ve had it I have experienced some immensely intense orgasms with this little toy. At this point the only thing that really concerns me is the price, as at $165 I would consider this a luxury product, despite it feeling the opposite. From the vague and misleading instruction manual, terrible charger, lack of storage pouch, frustrating controls, and much more, not much about this item gives me the feel that it is something worth its value, and while it was better in use than the Sohimi Suction Vibrator, it wasn’t a huge leap despite their $130 price difference. What does feel like a big difference though is the Womanizer DUO, and while this is far more pricey (exactly double that of the Mythical, in fact) the two can barely even be compared, with the DUO being immensely superior to the Mythical in every way. As such, I really feel that if you’re going to fork out so much for the Mythical anyway, you’ll be so much better off just going all in and getting the DUO instead. Of course, if you are limited in what you can spend, just know that the Irresistible Mythical is still a solid toy and more than capable of giving you a good time, just don’t expect any of the usual flourishes of a luxury product from it.

You can get the Irresistible Mythical from Adult Toy Mega Store for just $180.95 AUD / $131 USD!
