Review: ZALO BESS

ZALO BESS and attachments

It’s no secret that the design aesthetic ZALO brings to this industry is one of my all-time favourites. In the four years I’ve been working with them they have not only consistently released some of the most beautiful electronics there is, but their innovative ideas and exemplary packaging have been unrivalled. From their Sweet Magic series, inspired by the beautiful anime magical girls I grew up watching, to their more recent Legend line, featuring ancient Egyptian design cues that speak directly to the history buff in me, I can’t say enough good things about the way ZALO present their products and brand. But there is something else I’ve brought up time and time again when speaking about their products, and that is that they always try to do too much, and rather than having a single product that can do one thing perfectly, they end up with a toy that can do many things averagely. In fact, my previous review for them was actually my most positive yet, and saw them enter my Top 10 of the year for the first time, despite the fact that it was the oldest toy I had tried so far, making me call for a return to their more simplified roots. So when I recently heard about their brand new Legend series toy, the BESS, I was all for it, but I can’t say I wasn’t worried!

Review: Satisfyer Curvy 1+ & 2+

Satisfyer Curvy 1+ and 2+

When suction toys were first announced, I couldn’t help but be sceptical. But as soon as I tried my first one, I knew it was something special, and since then they’ve just kept on getting better and better. Never before has a type of sex toy so consistently raised the bar year after year, somehow finding new ways to improve upon things that I had already deemed perfect (and really messing with my ratings system). Something else about these toys that has raised over the last few years, however, is the price …at least it has on my blog. That’s right, while suction toys still come in a huge range of prices, my personal love for them has seen me requesting more and more costly options lately, with the culmination of that being my recent review on the Womanizer DUO, a $330 AUD product that (as far as I know) is currently the most expensive stimulator on the market. But while trying these luxury products has been fun (particularly for me), I also want to be able to promote and recommend products that the average person can consider purchasing, and that is not the DUO. So today I am finally breaking my streak and taking a look at two of Satisfyer’s brand new mid-range products, the Curvy 1+ and Curvy 2+.

Review: Xcitme Sym-B Sensual Collection

Xcitme Sym-B Sensual Collection

Versatility is one of the most sought-after and important traits for a sex toy, yet it’s something that continues to seem out of reach for a lot of companies. Whether it’s creating a single toy with multiple uses, such as the MysteryVibe Crescendo or ZALO Amorette, supplements for an existing product, such as the We-Vibe Wand’s attachments or the Uberrime Tentare Tentacle, or a modular toy that can be adapted for alternative uses, such as the Ooh by Je Joue, in my experience these products generally never seem to live up to the lofty claims of their advertising. Out everything I just touched on, however, modular design is the only type that I haven’t personally reviewed before, but it is something I’ve always liked the sound of. I still remember how excited I was when the Ooh by Je Joue first came out in 2015, and how obsessed I was with the idea of being able to buy just one base product and then mix-and-match the attachments I wanted. Which is why it was so upsetting when I finally tested it out at a convention and found that the core toy’s vibrations barely transferred through the modular pieces. As such, when I was recently contacted by Xcitme about their new modular product, the Sym-B, I was both cautious and intrigued. The thing that ultimately made me accept it for review, however, was that unlike the Ooh by Je Joue and similar products, the Sym-B’s attachments have their own motors, which is a game-changer.

Review: ZALO Amorette

ZALO Amorette with case

I have been lusting after ZALO’s Sweet Magic line for years. You see, unlike most other toy brands, ZALO splits their products into collections, which are each inspired by a different theme. Since I tend to review new products though, so far I’ve only tried their latest range, the Legend Series, which takes its aesthetic cues from ancient Egypt. I loved those products and they really helped to establish ZALO as one of the best companies in the industry, but really it just made me want to try the Sweet Magic line even more. Based on the anime magical girls I grew up with, like Sailor Moon and Cardcaptor Sakura, I felt like these toys were made for me. But despite all this, Sweet Magic is a fairly old range, and as such it seemed unlikely I would be asked to review anything from it. So you can imagine my excitement when ZALO recently announced they would be adding a new toy to the collection! Plus, not just any toy, but the Amorette, an absolutely beautiful egg-style vibrator that truly looks like nothing I’ve ever seen before.

Review: Cosmopolitan G-Spot Romance

Cosmopolitan G-Spot Romance

While they still might not accepted by websites like Facebook and Instagram, sex toys have certainly ditched a lot of their associated stigma over the last few years. They’ve gone from something that was incredibly private, to something that now many people are not only happy to express a desire for, but to also admit that they own. Plus, what could originally only be purchased from shady looking stores where companies would seek to take advantage of customers by selling them products made with unsafe materials, can now be bought in the comfort of your own home on inclusive websites that promote and educate about body-safe options. As with anything that becomes popular however, it has meant that now even previously established brands are looking to cash in on it. I spoke a lot about this recently in my Future of Sex Toys post, and it’s something I believe we’re only seeing the beginning of. It’s an idea that has intrigued me though, as despite their inexperience in this industry, brands do have a reputation to keep up and thus incentive to create high quality products. So, when My Little Secret contacted me recently and asked if I wanted to review Cosmopolitan’s new range of toys, starting with their G-Spot Romance, I couldn’t resist.

Review: SVAKOM Siren

SVAKOM Siren

As a reviewer I am always on the lookout for the next big thing, so that makes it really exciting when companies innovate and create new and interesting looking toys. Don’t get me wrong, I thoroughly enjoy testing old faithfuls such as G-Spot vibrators and dildos, but with those I have a pretty good idea of what to expect and how much I’ll enjoy something. With new toy designs however, it is a bit of journey into the unknown. Things could end up really really good, or really really bad, and I am venturing forth solo to uncover that truth. Then in comes SVAKOM, who are by no means a new brand in this industry, but up until last year I’ve never had any interest in trying out their generally unoriginal toy designs. What changed for me was the release of the SVAKOM Nymph, which caught the eye of many bloggers not only because of its unique design, but because of the weirdness of it. Since I wasn’t reviewing much last year due to poor health I didn’t end up getting one, but this year when SVAKOM announced their follow-up toy to the Nymph, the SVAKOM Siren, I was all over it. Luckily for me SVAKOM were kind enough to send both the Nymph and Siren out for review, so while this post focuses on the Siren, look out for my Nymph review coming soon!
