Uberrime Tentare Tentacle

It’s finally time for the last review of 2019 (and the decade!), and I’ve made sure to save the best till last. The Uberrime Tentare Tentacle is a product I’ve been dying to try all year, so I’m super excited to finally have my hands on it and be sharing my thoughts with you all today. Now, I’ve got to admit, the first time I saw this toy I thought it was a dildo. So despite how amazing it looked, my mind instantly assumed that due to its stubby dimensions it must be quite large, which probably wouldn’t work for my body. But I couldn’t get its unique design out of my head, so after I successfully tested the Uberrime Ripley Alien earlier this year I went back to it and actually read the product listing. Turns out it’s not a dildo at all (although it can still be used as one), but actually a sleeve for bullet vibrators such as the We-Vibe Tango. Well, as soon as I read that I knew I had to have one, but with so many other beautiful Uberrime toys to choose from it still took me awhile to get round to requesting it. When it was time to choose a product to wrap up the year with however, I knew exactly what I wanted it to be.

Without size reference you might think the same thing as I did when I first saw the Uberrime Tentare Tentacle, but with a total length of 12.7 cm / 5 inches and a max diameter of 4 cm / 1.54 inches, it’s actually small enough to fit entirely in my hand. Made of body-safe silicone, the “claw” at the end of the toy is solid, whilst the rest of the shaft has a inner hole, which makes the toy very flexible when nothing is inserted into it. While designed specifically for a We-Vibe Tango, the Tentare Tentacle will work with any product of a similar size and shape, and as my Tango is no longer working I have been using it with the Nu Sensuelle Point. In addition to bullets, my index finger also fits snugly inside the hole, and I can only just reach the end of it with my fingertip. The main idea with this toy is for it to be a way to implement texture and fantasy-play during clitoral stimulation, but really there are countless ways to use it, from a role-playing element, a dildo with just your finger inserted, or even a G-Spot vibrator. It should go without saying however, that in addition to all these perks this is also an incredibly beautiful fantasy toy, with its claw-like tip, prominently ridged back, and tentacle-style suckers on the front. This mix of dragon and sea creature makes me think of Lovecraftian Mythos deities like Dagon, and this is only strengthened by the mermaid blue and alien green colouring. This particular colour option is only available at SheVibe where the toy is aptly named the Dragon Claw (or the Talon for the orchid and rose gold variation), but Uberrime’s own store offer three rad options as well: orchid and rose gold, true blue and silver, or electric violet and alien green. Finally, as the toy has a flared base it is anal safe, and while it might work with some harnesses the small size means it may not work for all.

Uberrime Tentare Tentacle and Nu Sensuelle Point

My order with SheVibe for the Uberrime Tentare Tentacle was placed on the 17th of October and I received it on the 30th. Usually the packages I receive from SheVibe are 100% discreet, however this one unfortunately listed them as the sender. As this is my fourth product from Uberrime I had a pretty good idea of what to expect from the packaging before the toy arrived. As they are only a small independent toy maker they do not have proper packaging like you might expect from a larger company, but this is perfectly fine with me and also means that their products have an extremely low amount of waste associated with them. For the Tentare Tentacle I received it simply in a small plastic bag with Uberrime brand stickers on either side and the name of the product at the top. Also included was a small envelope containing FAQ style information on caring for the toy, and this also featured a small handwritten note from the owner of Uberrime, Marco. I always really appreciate little touches like this when ordering from small businesses, so this was a lovely addition.

Inserting things into the Tentare Tentacle’s hole is easy, although lubricant is recommended to allow for easy removal afterwards, whether it’s for a bullet vibrator or for your finger. For my tests with the toy I used the Nu Sensuelle Point Bullet which is almost exactly the same as the We-Vibe Tango in shape, size, and design, and I didn’t have any issues with it. Once inserted only the very end of the Point sticks out of the Tentare Tentacle, which means controlling it with the button on its base is easy, while also remaining out of the way and barely noticeable. Inserting my finger instead is then quite fun, as the thin silicone means I am able to flex and bend it. It reminds me a lot of the sort of rubber witch fingers you can buy during Halloween to wear, and I can’t even imagine how much fun implementing it into role-playing would be for people who enjoy that sort of fantasy play.

Uberrime Tentare Tentacle with Nu Sensuelle Point inserted

While there were a few different ways I was looking forward to testing the Uberrime Tentare Tentacle, my first use with it had to be with a bullet vibrator inserted for clitoral stimulation, like it was primarily designed for, as this was the main reason I requested it. Upon inserting the bullet and turning its vibrations on for the first time, I was happy to find that they transferred really well through the silicone, and other than the fact that they’re coming from silicone rather than plastic they don’t really feel dulled at all. Then trying it out on my clit for the first time was a wonderful experience, as it meant I was able to enjoy the vibrations that I know and love, but in a different form than I am use to. I loved being able to rub the texture against myself, particularly the ridges and the suckers which added so much sensation during use. Plus, having the vibrations come from a softer material was also a welcome change, as sometimes the hard ABS plastic featured on the Nu Sensuelle Point can be too much, especially when used as part of a longer session. In that regard, this sleeve may be perfect for someone who finds bullet vibrators too intense due to their typically hard materials. My favourite way to use the Uberrime Tentare Tentacle during this method however, is to just use the very tip of the toy’s “claw” on my clit to achieve pin-point stimulation. The sensations this gives reminds me of the type of flicky clitoral stimulators that I’ve tried so much of lately, and thus using it in this way never fails to bring me to orgasm quickly.

Uberrime Tentare Tentacle

In addition to its intended use, I’ve also tested the Tentare Tentacle out in a few alternative ways, most notably internally with and without the bullet, and externally with the bullet during internal play. I didn’t expect to enjoy using the product internally with the bullet, as I knew it wouldn’t be able to reach my G-Spot and thus the vibrations wouldn’t do anything for me, and my assumption about this was correct. Even with the bullet turned off though I still didn’t enjoy this method, as I found that it made the toy feel unnecessarily firm, so just using my finger inside the toy quickly became my preferred method for penetrative play. While it still wasn’t able to hit any of my stimulation zones, I particularly enjoyed using like this due to the high level of texture, and so it excelled during foreplay and role-playing. Finally, using the sleeve with the bullet inserted on my clitoris whilst using internal toys or during PIV sex is much the same as just using it solo, but I felt it was worth mentioning as there are definitely some advantages to using it in this way over just using a regular bullet. This is as one of the biggest issues I have when using plastic bullet vibrators is that they can badly pinch my skin when used in combination with a hard insertable toy, or alternatively pinch my partner’s skin when used during PIV sex. The soft silicone of the Tentare Tentacle eliminates this problem however, meaning it’s a much preferred addition when using the Nu Sensuelle Point in this way.

Since the Uberrime Tentare Tentacle is entirely made of silicone it is also waterproof, which makes cleaning it a breeze. For general cleaning it is best to wipe it down with warm soapy water and rinse before and after every use. If you do use it internally however I would recommend taking extra care around the suckers on the front of the toy by scrubbing these with a spare toothbrush. Then, if you are switching between partners or vaginal and anal play, I’d recommend sterilising it by throwing it in the dishwasher, wiping it down with a 10% bleach solution or boiling it for 5 minutes. After, let air dry and then return it to storage. Additionally, make sure to only use water-based lubricant with it as other lubes may damage the silicone.

Uberrime Tentare Tentacle

Overall the Uberrime Tentare Tentacle has been a real pleasure to review. I have a lot of faith in Uberrime’s design and silicone pouring skills, so I couldn’t really see how this would have turned out to be a bad review (which is why I thought it’d be good to end the year on), but perhaps if the silicone had been so thick that the vibrations from my bullet vibrator weren’t able to properly penetrate through it then we could of had an issue. Thankfully though this wasn’t the case at all, and instead I found that the Tentare Tentacle not only elevated the vibrations, but also made them more versatile by providing a protective layer over the hard plastic that so many bullets are made of. Even if you don’t own a bullet that would be compatible with this toy though there is still tons of fun to be had, especially if you are into fantasy role-playing or a fan of texture and short insertable toys. Or, even if you aren’t interested in any of this and don’t own a bullet, it’s just a genuinely beautiful toy to look at and display in your home (especially during Halloween or TTRPG sessions), and I bet no one will even realise what it really is!

Sadly, the Uberrime Tentare Tentacle has now been discontinued.
