Last time at the blog we were taking a look at sustainability in the sex toy industry and what products are currently making a difference, namely the new Lovehoney X Love Not War Amore. Designed as a modular toy so you only need one set of electronics across the entire range (even if it’s currently not being sold as such), Love Not War aimed to reduce both the waste and cost associated with their toys. But while it may not look as fancy, the idea of being able to take one core toy and then transforming it into a range of different styles has been around for years thanks to sleeve attachments. This concept has always intrigued me personally, but aside from the fairly out there Uberrime Tentare Tentacle, there is a distinct lack of reviews for them at my blog. Why? Well I have given these sorts of things a go at conventions and stores, and I’ve always been seriously unimpressed at just how well the vibrations transfer through. But when I heard Femme Funn, makers of the popular Ultra Bullet, were releasing their own version named the Versa earlier this year, and For Her Box offered it to me for review, I figured it was time to finally give bullet sleeves a proper go.
The Brand
Despite launching around the same time I started in the industry, US brand Femme Funn are a company I haven’t really paid much attention to until now. But while that’s understandable when most of their range is the usual generic-looking pink and purple vibrators, they certainly have some stand outs as well. It’s hard to forget the waves their Ultra Bullet made when it was released a few years back, being widely considered by reviewers as one of the best budget bullet vibrators around, and since then their name has been firmly planted in my mind as one to try. So when I was looking to focus on sustainable toy options recently, it was hard to miss their newly released Versa Bullet and its three silicone attachments. In addition they also have a full range of body-safe options designed for those with a vulva (although many would work for anyone), as well as their more general sub-brand FORTO.
Product Description
Even without the attachments, the Femme Funn Versa Bullet is one to note. With an approachable price tag, this remote controlled clitoral vibrator stands out amongst the rest due to its unusual size and shape. Short, stout and fairly heavy (in comparison to other bullets, that is), as with their Ultra Bullet Femme Funn have once again deviated from the established bullet vibrator shape, although the rest of the Versa should be very familiar to anyone who has used toys like the We-Vibe Tango before. With a fully plastic body, a single button then lies at the base of the toy alongside magnetic points for its charger. Pink, purple, and blue are the available colours, and while I’m not the biggest fan of pink and purple toys at this point, at least they have used far darker shades than is the norm. As with all good toys the Femme Funn Versa is then USB rechargeable, as well as fully waterproof. In regards to its remote, which it comes with at no extra charge, this is then a small single-button device that matches the colour of the Versa you’ve chosen, and is powered with an included CR2032 lithium battery.
The three Versa attachments can then either be bought separately or with the bullet (For Her Box make this easy with their mix-and-match options), and they aren’t just your stock standard designs either. There is the T, an external sleeve that looks to primarily be for the vulva, in which a unique lay-on style shape offers broad, pin-point, and apparently even flicking stimulation with its mix of smooth and textured surfaces. The P is then a similarly unusual design that contrasts the T’s simple pattern with its intensely textured bumps designed for enhanced clitoral stimulation. With a pull-ring base, the P is then also available for both vaginal and anal play, although its short yet wide shape of 3.6 inches / 9.1cm in length and 1.5 inches / 3.8cm in diameter leaves me unsure of its effectiveness of either. Finally there is the S, which is the most classic design of the three, with its long length being ideal for internal play. Plus, with a curved end for G-Spot stimulation and a wide base, this attachment can also be used anally and with a harness. My only concern, however, is that the S is not only larger than what I was expecting, with an insertable length of 7 inches / 17.8cm and a diameter of 1.6 inches / 4.1cm, but it is also extremely firm, with the hollow portion only extending to about midway up the shaft. All three attachments are then made with body-safe silicone and feature holes at their base for the bullet to be inserted into, and they match the three colour options for the Versa, with the T being blue, the P being purple, and the S being pink.
Packaging
My order with For Her Box for the Femme Funn Versa and its three attachments was placed on the 22nd of March and I received it promptly by the 29th. As usual the box was 100% discreet, with no mention of the sender or contents, and for my full unboxing you can check this out. The items were then safely secured and gift wrapped inside a For Her Box branded box (which can easily be reused if you remove the branded sticker), with free samples of lubricant and oils being included alongside a small thank you card offering both care instructions and a small discount on future orders. As for Femme Funn’s packaging, this was broken up into four different boxes, as the bullet and its attachments all come individually. Each being a simple cardboard box featuring the colour scheme of the item within, they then all feature clear windows so you can view the items prior to opening, as well as some basic information on the back. Items are then secured in plastic and only the Versa and its remote come with anything extra, although this too is kept to a minimum, with it just being the charging cable, battery for the remote, and user manual. Overall, while I do appreciate that the branding is consistent and minimal packaging has been used, I will say that having four somewhat large boxes does feel a bit much, and I do wish they had a combined option for those who want to buy the Versa alongside its attachments.
Charging
Since the Femme Funn Versa is USB rechargeable, charging it is easy. Simply plug one end of the cord into a USB port, and then the other end can be connected magnetically to the toy, although this can be a little difficult as the connection strength between the two is quite weak. While charging a light will flash at the base of the toy, and this will then become solid when complete, which should take around 1.7 hours and give you around 1 hour of use (which is not much!). Also worth noting is that Femme Funn not only make a big deal of the fact that the toy may create a fire hazard if left on charge after the battery is full in the instructions, but they also have it written on a red label that is attached to the charging cord. I don’t know if this is just something they had to include for legal purposes, but it is not something I usually see included in sex toy manuals or on their chargers, and so this does feel a bit concerning.
Controls
With just one button for manual control, using the Femme Funn Versa is made easy, and doesn’t really require instructions to operate. Simply hold down the button for three seconds to turn on the toy, which will start at the lowest steady speed, and then continue clicking the button to cycle through the 7 vibration modes, 3 of which are steady speeds and 4 of which are patterns. When done you can simply hold the button down for three seconds again. I am happy with all of this, and my only criticism is that when you press down the button to turn the toy off it jumps to the next mode, which functionally is fine but can feel a bit annoying. As for the remote, this connects automatically and you can press it whenever the toy is already turned on to cycle through the vibration modes as you would if you were controlling the toy directly. You can even turn the Versa “off” by holding down the button on the remote for three seconds, but really this just places it in a stand-by mode, so make sure to turn it off properly when done. Thankfully though if you forget it doesn’t matter too much, as it seems to time out on its own.
First Impressions
Considering the love for the Femme Funn Ultra Bullet, I definitely had high hopes for the Versa’s vibrations, and knew that they were certainly needed if it stood any chance of transforming its sleeves into usable toys. But even I wasn’t prepared for what I felt upon turning the Versa on for the first time, because Femme Funn have truly not held back with the power levels in this toy! Typically when I turn any vibrator on I expect the first level to be fairly low, giving it somewhere to build from and also so it is not overwhelming when you first start use. But the Versa’s first speed might as well be its last, because it is incredibly powerful. Plus, any concern that this means there then wouldn’t be enough of a range in steady speeds was quickly dismissed, as the next two levels continue to raise the bar to new heights. With a deep rumble, the Versa does get more buzzy as speeds increase, but there is a good blend of the two, and overall I am very impressed. The only downsides to all of this is then the noise level, which as you’d imagine is quite loud, and the fact that it is so strong that it is difficult to hold and control.
My Experience
The Bullet
The Femme Funn Versa Bullet in use is pretty much what I expected after checking out its vibrations for the first time. The powerful motor ensures it is absolutely pleasurable, and orgasms do come easy, but gripping onto it can be a real pain both due to its short length and residual vibrations, which quickly numb out my hand. What’s more, the shape is incredibly one-note, as its simple round design lacks any of the interest bullets like the We-Vibe Tango, Dame Kip, and Hot Octopuss AMO feature, with their combination of flat and round areas. If this was all there was to the toy then I’d have to consider whether strong vibrations are enough to make up for it, but thankfully for everyone there is plenty more to come…
The T Sleeve
The first attachment I tried out was the T, which is the blue external sleeve (the box also lists it as for internal use, but I’m not sure how that’d work). To place it, and all the attachments, in the Versa, you simply need to apply a small amount of water-based lubricant and slide it in. Using the T was then a completely difference experience, and it was pretty much as if Femme Funn had read my last paragraph and decided to fix all the issues I was having. The thick layer of silicone creates the perfect buffer for those pesky residual vibrations I was struggling with, and the added length makes it far more comfortable to hold. Plus, with so many different ways to be stimulated, from the back ridge that’s perfect for grinding, textured flat area for broad sensations, or the tip for pin-point pleasure, one-note is definitely not a label I would apply to the T. Honestly, using the Versa with this attachment quickly transforms it into one of the best clitoral toys I’ve tried, and orgasms are nothing short of spectacular. As for using the Versa as a panty vibe like Femme Funn suggest, while the shape of the toy does allow it to work, the large size, weight, and most importantly noise level all mean that this is neither the most comfortable nor the most discreet toy, and so other than wearing it around the house or during play as a hands-free method, I can’t really imagine it working.
The P Sleeve
The next attachment on my list was the P, aka the purple textured sleeve. Out of the three, I do feel the P suffers most from a bit of an identity crisis. What exactly was it designed for? Anal seems to be the main thing I can think of, but its size, density and texture mean that only those with considerable experience would be able to use it, and that is not me. I’ve tried it vaginally, but it was far too short to make enough of an impact, plus the flexible handle made thrusting difficult, and trying to grip the base meant being scratched by the charging plates (issues I’d expect that would also be present during anal use). I also tried it externally, but while this was an improvement to the Versa without a sleeve, it was a far cry from the T, as the shape again felt very one-note, especially as the texture couldn’t really be felt when using it in this way.
The S Sleeve
Finally there is the S, the internal G-Spot sleeve. While the most obvious of the three, like the P there were again multiple issues that leave me questioning its design. Inserting it without warming up can be done, but the size and density means this is quite a stretch for me, and so I prefer to warm up with the Funkit Toys NoFrillDo R and Tantus Pack ‘n Play No.2 first. Once inside, it’s clear that I can only insert about half the length, meaning the portion with the Versa bullet is entirely left outside of me at all times, automatically making the vibrations less effective. Then, while the curved end can find my G-Spot relatively easily, to angle it properly requires me to hold the shaft, rather than the floppy base. This not only means that I’m going to get a messy hand if I am not careful, but that once the vibrations are turned on I am essentially going to be tightly gripping the Versa. As you’d expect, all of this combines to mean that using the Versa with the S as a G-Spot vibrator is quite ineffective, as there is barely any vibrations on my G-Spot yet too many on my hand, making it harder for me to thrust and angle the toy. Honestly my favourite way to use this attachment has become using it without the vibrations turned on, as at least that way I can enjoy the G-Spot stimulation that the curved silicone offers.
The Remote
There is certainly a mix of both good and bad when it comes to the Versa and its attachments, but one thing that stood out amongst it all as a saving grace was the remote. Incredibly easy to use, this was a real game changer and made use whenever I had one hand free such a breeze. In fact I quickly took to only using the remote, because the intensity of the vibrations does make controlling the toy manually quite difficult, not to mention its necessity during hands-free play, such as when using the T as a panty vibe. During all of my testing however I did have one time where the remote randomly stopped working for a few minutes (the light was still coming on when I clicked the button, but it seemed to be disconnected from the toy), so it sadly seems it is not foolproof.
Cleaning & Care
Cleaning the Femme Funn Versa is easy as it is waterproof. Just wipe it down with some warm soapy water, rinse, and leave to air dry. Similarly, the attachments are also waterproof, and I’d recommend giving them a little soak to remove any lubricant from inside before washing them, with extra care potentially being needed on textured portions if used internally. You can then store items however you want, but I would recommend placing any internal play elements into zip-lock bags to keep them clean. Additionally, make sure to not use silicone-based lubricant with any of the attachments, as it may react badly to the silicone they are made of.
Final Thoughts
There was always going to be a lot to talk about with a four-in-one toy like the Femme Funn Versa Bullet, but while there have been some definite negatives in this review, there have also been some resounding positives! While most bullet vibrators are designed to work as is, and can then be given sleeves or attachments in the form of alternative options, the Versa strongly comes off as something very much intended to be used with its attachments. After all, it is a thing of raw power, desperately needing something to help contain and focus it. Thankfully the T is that thing, and once inserted into it the Versa transforms into a breathtaking remote controlled external vibrator capable of so much more than I ever imagined. Unfortunately for the other two attachments however, they both faced problems that made them pale in comparison. While the P could work for some, the lack of direction from Femme Funn left me unsure of how to even begin using it, and while I found it better than using the Versa naked, it couldn’t even begin to compete with the T. The S, on the other hand, I knew exactly how to use, but it was its unusually long length that was its biggest downfall, not only making it difficult to stimulate my G-Spot, but also meaning that the Versa and its vibrations were left out. Overall, if you want opinion then you should buy Versa ASAP, but only if you can also fork out for the T, as there’s no other way I’ll be using it from here on out.

Good
There was good and bad to this toy, but the Versa with its T attachment was the real winner here.
